I need a shot of tequila and honeysuckle
at four o'clock in the afternoon
after working all day on the white sand beach
where the sun was as hot as a molten rock
before lay down on my porch swing
for a tender nap for the rest of the evening
like a Sloth hanging like a Guinep from a tree
When you wished us away...
Now we shall haunt you
Every day on your own way.
Six pieces of lime
Six shots of Tequila
Usually does it just fine
Six usually does it
But, pour out that salt
Cut some more lime
He wants another six
Just this one time
He's drowning his sorrows
Or so he says
Tomorrow mornin'
He'll forget all the
Stupid things that he said
It's somethin' he's done
Many times before
Moanin' the loss
Of his sweet Elenore
She was a real beauty
She outclassed him
Smart as a tack
Saw right through him
He was as shallow as a puddle
And wasn't too smart
She simply walked away
To get a new start
Twelve shots of Tequila
It's somethin' he's done
Many times before
Always moanin' the loss
Of his sweet Elenore
Never will see her
She is no more
She finally saw him
as nothing but a drunk
A bar stool fool
Whose act was tired
And not too cool
Left him with his shots,
Salt and lime
Left him for good,
No comin' back that time
She was outspoken
And had plenty of brass
She said what she thought
Thought he was a drunk
And really, really crass
Thought she'd look for someone
With a lot more class

UP, and away I go, Hello Mexico!
It's my annual Vacation.
Those Frequent Flyer miles sure saved my Cash,
Except from Thirst and Starvation!
Round ended, Well blended, Senoritas,
There'd be no Fender I'd pass!
Mary Jane and Three more Margaritas,
AAH! It's Splendor in the Grass!
Lit up like a Christmas tree
Is papa after his festive drink
He’s a funny one
Can’t hold his tongue
Dances and he sings
Words that make no sense
Long winded when he’s bent
He gives a Ted Talk
About how to stand tall
And falls on his rear end
Despite his huge blue pride
He knew too drunk to drive
In his sloppy stupor
He calls an Uber
Goes home to angry wife
I may not be your cup of tea
But I am your tenth shot of tequila.
We are made to be together
One way or another.
Peacefully or completely unhinged:
We fit together like two lost pieces
Of a jigsaw puzzle.
One way or another…
I will be your tenth shot of tequila,
Will you be mine?
The Holy Bible is a Journal.
On the desk, and it's definitely
not made of Mahogany,
it's lightly-stained Oak.
The blanket is Navaho. It's All Sacred.
Those Impeccable Tribes of the Desert -via the Fountaini
- will make more, but the Object can't be Programmed.
It's one of the gadflies or juggernauts ,
some say Gordian Knots,
of Simulation "Theory."
It's REALLY HARD (some say - ahem - difficult) to simulate a Grandpa.
She was a shot of tequila,
Gulped by every tippler.
She was a vase of carnations
Set on a high table,
For everyone to smell.
She was a lodge napkin,
To absorb their bodies' muck
She was a cup of cappuccino,
To calm their tactile desires.
They contaminated her,
And she is contaminating,
The gullible satyriasis.
Soon, hearses will be
Moving around!
I love to go boozin' with Susan
(My Spanish just adds to confusion)
Trump's Vanity Wall
Is helping us all
Experience tequila fusion!
How do cats know what we need?
It's so chilly this morning, here in
oh so still, golden, wine country.
I'm lying here snug on the couch.
Santorini-blue quilt, iPad, coffee,
writing poetry.
Here comes my warm, calico coverlet!
Jumping up on me.
Ah, her gold eyes like a warm
fireplace glow...
Her master pieced painted body.
The magical ebb and flow of blessed
warmth on my thighs, oh!
I call her, a bit of heaven on earth.
An angel, if you will, in disguise.
My calico, Irene, feline majesty.
My sunrise wine country surprise.
Sun Spirit, painting all the houses
a bright gold.

daughter, Maria Elena.*

I am feeling sick today, I drank too much tequila and now my stomach is churning in a sickening way. I was supposed to go explore a cave but instead am writing this poem to say that I am also quite groggy but don't pay it much attention. Did I forget to mention the moscato? Last night I drank that too. I don't know why maybe that is just who I am on Thursdays with friends, although now I feel like the nauseous and am wishing it would end. Now, even as I sit here on this bed, I can't pretend to be someone I am not. Too many shots in too little of time. I tried to make a mix drink, maybe a sex on the beach or tequila sunrise. I can't remember. This was also how I spent my September, October, November and December but for now it's March and spring is soon to come. Maybe the flowers will numb the young fire in my soul and console my heart that withers in gold.
"Scripted on Tequila"
I used to love you! I cherished you! Thus you embraced me , you raised me, you shared me with the world.
I was a gift just as much you were to us....
Lies , why's , cries.....for her it was dice! Diced pineapples....naked on the beach infront of MTV , you wanted to impress the Empress l ain't talking Fergie! Nor Maggie! Yes Angie when you went full Speed l realised we were not meant to swim in the same Pool.
This is not Winnie the Pooh's episode , it is not Espionage not necessarily Nicky Minaj's butt but something beyond our control like Micheal Jackson ' s baby with Billie Jean .... feels so distant yet it was yesterday when Billy Ocean brought smiles to Men with perms and chains.
I will cut to the chase , get to that place . I miss us ! I miss you ! What you and l bring ....that is Tanaka , Tinashe , Tamuka , Palesa and Allegra our legacy , my blood....your blood together we are forever binded by life and so called love yet we gave up ! What is to be learnt from this chapter we scripted on Tequila?

Of my 36 halves: The latter, spent
accruing 2 subtracted former halves,
is 9, if equal parts divided mint
2 quarters passed 1 – done (tequila math).
Those under 18 have no place in this.
I was 19 when I first learned to drink.
Keystone my freshman year; soph’moric Schlitz.
2 Jager bombed thirsts forced a senior’s shrink.
That 25 uncorked a loveless wine
meant 29 bed wedded Chuckie Cheese.
30 went sober with vows on the line,
so - it's been over the last 6 of these.
What all it equates to? 1 sweet tasty thought:
Deep swallows of Brandy (candied apricot).
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor
Tis the season for upchucking from every pore
From singing off key
To removing dungarees
Picking up chickies with attributes galore
