You're on top, so, you think you've got 'em,

But, you don't understand, boxing's pugilistic ways.

Then, you're dropped, you hit rock-bottom,

They say, Hey Punchy, who carries your luggage these days?

You won, cuz, you knew you were, "The One,"

Now, you've got scars, broken bones that...never really healed.

With no more, "Glory Days," in the sun,

It's December, can't remember, your fate is ever sealed!

Christmas Tree Lot

They dressed me up in tinsel
and lametta I recall
stood me in a corner
not as a wallflower
I was the belle of the ball
but now my needles shedding
the moment I've been dreading
limp lonely forgotten neglected
not long before I'm ejected
and two weeks later here am I
a sad and sorry sight to behold
enough to make one cry
discarded by the side of the road
wasting away out in the cold
alas this is the fate awaits us
to make the children smile
here today gone tomorrow
born to sparkle but for a while

Pussycat Pussycat
tap tapping like a boxer
within your imaginary ring
playful and nimble
bouncing on a spring
to the left to the right
dancing on a whim

the forgotten

The forgotten
We forgot to buy a loaf today, but there is an apple tart in the fridge for breakfast tomorrow we will feast on cake and think of the daft woman in France, whose name I have forgotten
Putin was offered a 30-day break from warring, and he gracefully thanked Trump for his interest and accepted the offer, but first, the underlying cause had to be negotiated
Trump was flattered; he didn’t get the whole loaf but had to accept a lemon cake, Putin and Lavrov are both masters in chess, and the West, who do not understand what Russia has said
No NATO in Ukraine quarantine Russia has had enough from the West’s false promises, that’s, but Zelensky, the fraud has to go, a new election held and a spring will arrive in Ukraine

a Sunday eleven year ago

Any Sunday 2015

Long is Sunday, empty streets
a tunnel of silence,
damp pavement, water trickles
into gutters.
Burnt matches, *** butts and
yesterday's leave forms a rust
brown dike, it bursts and floods
tiny pebbles-
flowers on the window sills
admire the rain on glass.
A life spent in a pot fear
no weed and see no evil.
A black cat decides not to
cross the road,
a child in yellow wellies
dreams of tomorrow.

Premium Member BOXING DAY BLUES a hiku sonnet

shorts,white socks
sandals and panama-
winter-white legs

no wind,blue skies
dozing in a deckchair-
my afternoon tea stews

hottest day of summer
flying ants on high-
a swallows' drive by

summer-days ever-lasting
memories so tender-tasting

I was in His bosom
With no form or comeliness
Created from dust
Nothing moved me
Until dust came to life by
 His breath
The very nature of Him
I am created to praise Him
That I will always do
Let your breath come afresh
 on me
Renew me with your Spirit.

My Amrit

No one only his eyes
Shows the symbol of love
Even If I commit mistakes
His eyes reflects sign of guilt
Perception differs
Not even we have single matches
But
Our hearts crawl to see each other faces

No one was able to lure my heart
His innocent face was one
Which took away

Even the tickles of rain drops
Passed whispering my ear
You were lucky my child
Which got Amrit in life

 I too feel jealous myself
To have such person in my life
Whose hand I want to hold
Till rest of my life ends

Drollery The Antisetic Poet

Allusion the word used
it seemed out of place
and wedged between
repetition and simile.
Her thick English sounding accent
was as attractive as her
Gorgous face and , she had
more appeal then all the Ladies here combined!
She was talking about writing and began
bragging about the day she
was in Windsor Canada and meet
Feasty Broadway ( the world renewed)
Musician and singer.
She said she took the bus from
Detroit and while there
the went to the Windsor Stadium while
several folk auditioned for
The play? or Opera " Best Sentio( Bel Canto).
" There he was all cute and smelling great:
and I was flabbergasted as I got his autograph.
While there we heard a guy talking to another guy
about the "The Treasure of Kiss-Per"
we thought it was a play: until we heard them speaking about
getting the ship close enough to
the detroit shoreline. Then we remembered
the legend of the Tresures of Churches, taking by
Canadain Pirates in
the early 20 th centery.
My freind and I stood there
and found out Feasty was involed in the Unearthing of the Loot!

I watched Mike Tyson fight
At 58 was no delight sight
But respect to him
For going to the gym
I guess the money was right
