so, lit flight resting
bird nest upon the crevice
of the building set
~
 the eaves Covenant
are gathered stored twigs leaves and....
 mud fashioned into
~
a home for mother
bird and her chicks to live life
until baby's take flight

Premium MemberWhen Scars Take Flight

The caterpillar never prayed—
it coiled around the bark,
turned aside the whimpers of wings a-flutter,
and created a moat of silence.

Promises? It made none—
to itself or to the universe.
Transformation was not a melody or a plea,
just the still rebellion of survival.

As the chrysalis cracked open,
it wasn’t a triumph. It bore no grace.
It was escape—raw, fierce,
and unapologetically its own.

Hummingbirds have taken flight
Packed their suitcases late last night
If I am good, they truly might
Return next spring on wings of a kite

Premium MemberColours Take Flight

Butterfly, butterfly, dancing so bright,
Your wings are a canvas, a wondrous sight.
Jewel-like colours in the air,
Fluttering freely without care.

From flower to flower, you gently sway,
Sipping sweet nectar throughout the day.
A living rainbow on the breeze,
Your beauty is sure to charm and please.

Once a caterpillar, crawling slow,
Now a marvel, putting on a show.
Metamorphosed to catch the eye,
A dazzling creature that can fly.

Butterfly, butterfly, pure delight,
Your colours shimmer in the morning light.
A joyful dance on fragile wings,
Your presence makes our hearts take wing.

My Wings Take Flight

My wings take flight

I wish to take flight, to get away, I stand upon the mountain top, looking over the edge, the sounds of the ocean hitting the rocks, I back up as to ready myself for flight, I run forward with my arms straight out at my side.

I feel free as my feet leave the ground, I’m finally free flying high above the ground, the ocean as my guide. I see the bald eagle flying above my head, no care in the world, no mask on my face, just the wind blowing in my hair, oh how everyone linings to be here..

I guide above seeing the world below, my soul is free, no Covid fears here, only the birds, butterflies as my guides..

The Sky is my home, I no longer long for the world we live in now, as I glide around free and calm, with the sounds of the ocean as my song..

Crows Take Flight

Stop the light
Crows take flight
Alas we bask
With one flask

The night is young
By moonlight sung
Down the spine
Feel it twine

A drop of blood
The sting of mud
One more breath
One more death

Hold the hour
Do not cower
Stop the light
Crows take flight

Take Flight

From his cage-
he looks up high
and watches planes
up in the sky-
as the smoke trails far behind…
and the sun shines in his eyes.

From his perch-
he sees birds in flight
and dreams that one day he just
might-
fly with them out of sight…
Oh how he dreams he might.

From his seat-
he looks around
watches lizards scurry round
to and fro-
on the ground…
One day too he’ll jump around.

From this chair-
he’ll never leap,
but his mind thinks
differently-
He sees himself running ‘bout….
Playing as he laughs and shouts.

His prison small-
meant to confine;
freed his mind for dreams sublime.
For he can fly-
at any time….
and feel the sun’s warmth as it shines.

He can fly-
farther and better
than birds in any weather
He can fly-
alone or flocked together…
even though to his chair he’s tethered.

For in his mind-
he walks upright
all the day and all the night
He knows-
one day he just might…
rise from his chair and take flight.

Premium MemberHopes Take Flight

Chasing fantasies, fledgling hopes take flight,
catching my finicky heart by surprise.
For the instant I gazed into your eyes:
a ravenous love bug began to bite.
Now, being with you is such a delight,
that it's impossible to verbalize.

Your infectious smile makes me smile, as well:
unleashing my spirit, you gave it wings.
And as my heart hums along, my soul sings
for both fell under your magical spell.
And I've changed my ways, the whole world can tell,
I was a puppet till you cut my strings.

I have never felt so happy before:
who could possibly want anything more?

Let Your Wings Take Flight

Never let somebody take
Talk bad about you or shake
The happiness out of you
Leaving you saddened and blue
These people don't have a clue
Whatever they plan to do
Will just bounce off you as they
Keep trying most everyday
To make you fall apart and be
Full of pain and misery
But if you are strong and tough
Their actions wont seem so rough
Listen to your heart and try
Letting wonderful wings fly
Up above the hurt that might
Ground your wings from taking flight
Let them soar so high and proud
Above all the noisy crowd
That don't understand how each
Of us needs to try and reach
Deep inside, be who you are
Shining like the brightest star
Not to ever be burned out
From the hatred thrown about

Always Take Flight

Always take flight
And lift yourself up
Do not be discouraged
Reach for the top
With a valiant effort
Along with drive and ambition
Just go for the gold
Focus and put yourself in a favorable position

Premium MemberTo Take Flight

Love is not about going in circles
Or riding a pendulum back and forth
Playing games with the heart to win
Hidden truths kept at a distance within
Love blossoms with the opening
Of the flower of an inner soul
Sharing minds to talk through things
Honestly, respectfully without insults
Love is not about dragging
Someone’s heart through the mud
On a lonely barren road
Only to leave one feeling less and alone
All the while together
Love is sacrifice, sharing, trying
Being all you can possibly be
While empowering another
To be all he or she can be
Day to day, night to night
A commitment that takes two
      --- To take flight ---

You Can Take Flight

You can take flight
Be the one who forges ahead
Just edify yourself
And prosper instead
Be that stellar student
That thrives on excellence
Continue on with your progress
Learning is a lifelong process

Seagulls Take Flight

Rose strolled alone on a warm sandy beach

as salty sea foamy waves crept to reach

net her toes as the wind rose

She Jump from getting wet toes

instead fell back on her butt with a screech

Beach bumming seagulls came flying around

while Rose sat embarrassed on the wet ground

Plop! Whitewash flopped on her head

then up to the air they fled

flapping, squawking, with snapping hungry sounds
