My Dream Within A Dream

“Day dreams lay dead in dreams, but when life is breathed into them, they soar beyond the boundaries of success.”
— Poet
My dream is to be great in life,
That all I touch shall turn to gold,
And melt like butter on hot knife.
Thus my reward shall be tenfold,
Full of thriving, less of strife,
Grow finer, like a wine brewed old~
That buds find its rhythm in fife,
A belief I hold in heart bold.

         So surprising it becomes,
When I dreamt this dream in dreams,
And dance to its beats on drums,
Then its true essence truly gleams,
And its true purpose it sums.
    Its starkness guided by beams,
As if life's dreams are like ripe plums,
That come as easy as they seem,
Such that to no loss it succumbs.

True dreams are fulfilled in sleeps,
And not drowned in dwams' dams,
      Where doubt constantly creeps,
To make dreams appear as shams,
         Yet my life-dream still peeps
      Through this life's tangled jams,
To a place no one weeps,
       And free from dreams' logjams.

Moon sculpture

Soon, I will journey to the middle of the moon,
There, I will proudly place a memento with flair,
Fine sculpture shaped for reduced-gravity design,
One like proud Lady Liberty, facing the sun.
Like a bright beacon blazing in starkness, a spike,
Soaring melodies of beauty gently pouring,
From a breath of fresh air deaf to bees’ noisy hum,
Bold, elegant masterpiece dipped in crocks of gold.
Steady for the frozen silence of moon’s eddy,
That unyielding oak that confines winds to the mat.
Carved to freeze time, for history not to be starved,
Set in stone, clothed in a bright future free from threat—
Sweet treasure that no storm will ever dare unseat.

I am now a butterfly

As she drinks nectar from a flower, sweetness from heaven falls like dew
anointed with a gentle rain amidst sun showers she appears as if on cue

Lifting her wings she lands on a Zinnia beneath a tinted sky of April blue
flight of fancy fanning fast, fabulous marvel, she is beauty true on true

Pheromones fill the air as the males call the females to their abode
their abdomens linked tail-to-tail, and on the damsels' eggs the male seed are sowed

From thereon, dull caterpillars slowly transformed into exquisite beauties
then, to a new hope, many newborns flew, making gardens filled with cuties

She then whispered that before brightness, there was a very dark darkness~
so don’t give up on your life just because your present swims in starkness

"Learn from my life cycle," she further said, "beauties that once were can still be
so your belief in sunshine after this raging storm is paramount and key"

From then on, she became me, and I became her, and hope of a better tomorrow fills me
far from me, fear then fled—I face my problems with glee, from hopelessness my life is free

In the eye of the storm

Clouds rolled overhead as the wind whipped up molasses
The sweet heady scent of the Incoming storm
I call for you now, to come in and shelter
A call left unheard in this wild open space

Clouds swiftly darken casting shadows of starkness
Sweetness turns brittle as the air hunkers down
Echoing sounds of the wind determinedly surging forward
Air smothering daylight in a heavy cloak of velvet

I call again, to summon you home
A call caught up in the billowing gale
The crashing shriek of branches breaking
Herald warning to seek retreat

Then all at once, eeriness falls
Deafening silence enveloping
In the eye of the storm all I saw was you
Your bright amber eyes holding my gaze

Calling me home to come in and shelter
To weather the storm with you on my lap
Calling me in from the storm and the chaos
Too late as I hear the thunderstorm clap

Premium MemberEmbodying the Light

Light is a linear beam of photons
particles streaming from there to here
emanating from an emitter's ions
inflamed by energy's cheer.

A golden glow at dawn imbibes
the world with enlightened grace,
christening the dark matter with vibes
that the light begins to trace.

For light itself has no body
It's an ether, a will o' the wisp
seeking to seep within and embody
a glow of reflection, bright and crisp.

Objects enlightened, cast a shadow
A reminder of the eternal darkness
that befalls all who lie beyond the glow
or beyond time, and fate's starkness.

My soul in tensed darkness

As my soul floats in tensed darkness,
My heart beats in lifeless starkness,
A faint hope pierces my despair,
As my knees glued firm to prayer.

I soared with sour taste of my sores,
My favours, all burned to vapours,
Poverty beckoned with stern stare,
As my knees glued firm to prayer.

Friends stayed far to gloat my sorrow,
Night stretched long, no hope for morrow,
Sadness comes with relentless scare,
As my knees glued firm to prayer.

My spirit cried for God's favour,
His grace became my sole saviour,
Right from then I enjoyed his care,
As my knees glued firm to prayer.

I was fooled

The curvature with the bumps seen well carved,
My innate restraints were blatantly starved.
Her faint silhouette, my lust suddenly craved,
With the entrance to her paradise paved.

She swayed like shadows of an hourglass cast,
My hands, drawn to her fullness, held steadfast.
With nature’s finest art upon her chest,
Sensuous sweats soaked through my thin white vest.

Suddenly, the sky grumbled and turned grey,
Lightning sent sudden glimmers down my way.
I was tricked by the deceit of darkness;
'Twas the rain that showed my mental starkness.

The rain poured down torrents of its own tears,
While my own tears remained unseen by peers.
Who would have believed that darkness fooled me?
Seeking the cure to such cravings, my plea

In dark the starkness hid its flight
Until the tropic Phoenix went

Edge of Sanity

She skates along the edge of sanity.
The line between disaster and divine.
Heart now tasting the inhumanity,
without the lonely sip of the sweet wine.

Digging whilst drowning the depths of darkness,
rummaging righteousness religiously.
God bleeding sunshine into her starkness,
pruning the soul hath lost prodigiously.

Placing the lotus seed into the earth,
seed splicing and spiraling down and up.
She senses the sprouts swaying, giving birth,
spilling atop the ground below the cup.

Watering new life, soaking up the ground.
Flower below the earth, above the mound.

Premium MemberFinal Thoughts

My mind begins to wander

As I near my final breath

I lie here and I ponder

All the mysteries of death

Will I fade into the darkness

Of a cold and moonless night

Or will I view the starkness

Of a bright eternal light

Will I meet up with a devil

Or an angel dressed in white

Was the Bible on the level

Or did the Buddhists get it right

Well no matter come what may

I won't shed a single tear

Or feel regret for any day

I'm just glad that I was here

The silent moon veiled in seamless web darkness.
Bejeweled in radiance starkness,
Youthful valiant Prince Harkness.
Lost in hush briefness.
Charming, brave.
Fierce.
His, a fave.
Diligence, briskness
Each breath struck by its broadness.
Shadow soldiers walk with such braveness.
The silent moon veiled in seamless web darkness.

it’s an endless void of emptiness
in a starkness filled with play
it’s a synonym of every dream
in an antonym yet to try

it’s a darkened apron of inkiness
  in a sparkling bejewelled sea
it’s a long in-tangent monologue
  in a verse-laden melody

it’s the flailing arms of solitude
in a crowded room of song
it’s a screaming siren tempest queen
in the court of an unready king

it’s high above what I can hold
in the grass I lay my head
it’s a dry old gaze as I’m looking up
in the forming dew before bed

Night Bewitches

NIGHT BEWITCHES

Night offers that welcome darkness
With only the pale moon to observe
When undefined things will emerge
And those rare emotions can surge
Strangest sounds that touch a nerve
And images, proud of their starkness

The witching hour will come at night
Feeling cold running down your spine
The chill wind blows like a soft moan
Now sure that you’re no longer alone
You know something crossed that line
Whispers dance in the air, out of sight

The shadows are barely sure they exist
Moonlight casting weird shades of grey
The dark cloudless sky feels undressed
Things scuttling around, as if possessed
All scurrying to avoid the dawning day
An enchantment opportunity, missed

Premium MemberEternal Light Shines So Bright

Eternal light shines so bright
Day or night we are in it’s sight

Steadfast love from above
Forever right ours to hold

Peering into the starkness
The veil of misty darkness

Calm assurance does attend
When all we do is pretend
