I once knew a seer, name of Hortense
     Who specialized in ominous portents
Said I should marry a toad
Long as he cleaned and he sewed
I said, ‘You go first ~ It makes so much sense’

Premium MemberFour Leaf Clover Fiona

Four leaf clover Fiona was a lucky Irish lass
Boys asked her out, but she always took a pass
She had large goals, and wanted to get things done
Having six boy cousins, she knew they were not a lot of fun.

But some boys are truly special, her older sister said.
I am only seventeen, she said, don’t change my mind or head.
There are many years between now and when I go to the other place.
Right now, I can barely keep up with my own self-imposed pace.

Fiona was in clover leaders of the world, and on a robotics team.
She had designed a specialized drone, and a new flying machine.
Fiona was a scientist, a writer, an artist, a woman with an active mind.
She was not on the hunt for a man, difficult to find a similar kind.

Premium MemberThe Ballad of the Pancake Brothers

two brothers hailed from the old country
from Donnybrook
one more like an engineer
the other like a cook
they specialized in pancakes
the best, you can't deny
Sean made them taste like heaven
Finn stacked them high

supplies came from all around
in wagons and in trucks
Sean whipped up the batter
and ol' Finn he constructs
with eggs from every chicken
and milk from every cow
maple syrup miracles
from the oats that they did grow

when these flapjack masters
grew old and had to die
they made a stack of hotcakes
and they climbed it to the sky
kids, each time you eat griddle cakes
you should be like me
stack 'em high
and think of Sean and Finn McGee

epigenic?

Epigenetics?

I don't understand, but I wonder how come
I dream and remember things that happened
before I was born
perhaps caused when I am in my pram lay
absorbed without knowing what
the adults were talking about
my great-grandfather was a famed baker
who specialized in cakes and puddings
he had his own business, which his son my
grandfather squandered
I was drawn to the catering business
I no longer dream of my sister or my brother
they died young and have disappeared into
mythology
My mother I remember with fondness and
sadness, a hard-working woman with fierce
political opinions.
In later years, she succumbed to drinking and
took little interest in things around her
Of my father, I remember nothing
like looking into a blank wall, as my mother
once remarked I looked like my father
and she bore a secret smile.
One ominous thing is alcohol has played
and cast dark shadows through several
generations
I have myself suffered from this soul-eating
illness, I overcome by living far away and
in my writing
The addiction tendency is genetic
"Neglect is the biggest disease."

GRACE is neither earned nor deserved

IN the grand scheme of things, all need grace

FAVOR is very similar to grace

TECHNICALLY, God's grace is generalized,
                      and His favor is specialized

SALVATION through Christ is indeed a gift

May God bless you all

May God bless you all time around
Alike the love-owned leftover redundant
Creating the consciousness of conscience
And growing the powerful confidence

If you are specialized by love and indefinite
It must hatch to yield outcome differences
No matter how unseen presence he dwells in
The songs rising in true Love may hear the sense

May God bless you all time around
Alike the galaxies following the sun

The Ruins of Paradise

I had a dream of a joyless man,
sitting in the ruins of paradise.
With flat voice and cold words
he told me his tale,
While the biting wind swept up flurries of snow ...

His was a people that laughed and dreamed.
Wrote poems, sang music, and danced in the light.
Crafting, artistic, industrious, pure ...
kept safe by their warriors like him.

But from over the horizon there came a dark race.
A people who knew not but war.
Who could stand against the marvelous engine?
Hungry wolves too familiar with pain.

They came without warning.
Struck without pause.
Tore our women from our corpses
with their bloodyhanded claws.

And I was struck on the head
in the midst of it all.
Fell as if dead,
but I woke from my fall.

Every fragment of the past
brings pain beyond words.
See here - this tambourine?
My little girl used to play it.
Now how will she dance again?

***

I woke with a gasp.

There's a riddle I can't solve:
How can peaceful goodness
withstand the assault
of bestial machines
specialized for destruction?

I cannot say how,
but God grant me strength
to protect beauty
from the darkness.

I Don't Go To the Beach Anymore

i don't go to the beach anymore
my emotions go insane when i think of the bloody footprints in the sand
the wrong decisions made are like half my body eaten by sea carnivores
the waves give me migraines to the point where my equilibrium has eczema in its whiplash
the sun melts my skin to the point of an electric shock straightjacket
if my heart was chocolate milk, i would become so pale that i would have to classify as caucasian
i went to see a seaside doctor, but all that she did was smile at the view
i went to see a specialized counsellor, but all he did was stare wonderingly at the view
i tried to make a friend, but all she wanted to do was shop for her new oceanfront condo
instead i decided to give God a try, and all he did was Listen
i want to go to the intracoastal waterway
i dig the peace and its careful directional flow
eventually lower blood pressure and ultimate Peace of Mind will lead me back to the ocean
until then, God Is Not Through With Me Yet, and i will never be done Listening To and Believing In Him....

Premium MemberFrog Stew

My frog calmly has his orange pekoe tea said Stew.
Remainder of the pot is sitting right next to him too.
Will he share with me? No. But he might share with you.
He is pouting today because I hid his hat and his shoe.

Sitting beside a tiny brook, that makes his life complete
He eats tidily, even his flies are bite sized, totally neat.
I know he has specialized crackers that are spiced with sweet.
If you ask politely, he may give you part of his treat.

Me and My Bike

Two plus hours of joy,
 me and my mountain bike,
  she's a capable toy.

Mz. Betty and her boy,
with her I am a tike,
so young and full of joy.

Shouting noisily hoy,
 unembarrassed childlike,
  on Johnny's two wheeled toy.

I jump on and enjoy,
 a euphoric like spike,
  bursting with giddy joy.

In charge of my employ,
 I'm outside where I like,
  on my Specialized toy.

Engaging in my ploy,
 flying down the dirt pike,
  as I pedal for joy,
    because I have this toy.

Premium MemberPulsations In a Persistent Pattern

The pounding in my head, a persistent throbbing
A cause for concern says the vascular people
It could be something complex or rather simple
This constant drumming, almost unspeakable,
Which keeps me awake when I should be sleeping
Pulsations in a persistent pattern mimic a cadence
Suggest coming from the innermost cerebrum
Not from a snare, but a tom-tom-like rhythmic drum
Even more pronounced than a cicada’s feral dance
This ethereal pounding heard not by anyone else
For my ears alone this thumping rush deep inside
Like a resentment I should've held in confidence
[A compulsive, secret lover hidden in Warm Springs]
Were it not for the imminent danger to life itself,
Requiring specialized tests only insurance approves
In the meantime, I write lyrics to accompany the beat.
