I thought you had brought it out of the night,
I thought it had come to the light,
I thought you had journeyed to bring it from the deep,
I thought it had found its way to your room.
The priceless doesn’t sound,
It waits to be unbound and found,
A door of opulence is opened,
It heralds a new dawn.
Redemption is the pearl we desire,
How much of a price does it require?
We have searched the books,
The sages say it’s a price in the singleton of voice.
I look for the pearl that’s hidden in me,
Redemption will aid me to see,
I’ll sojourn through time’s lane,
To find the ones missing in my chamber.

SINGLETON
Why do memories always make me cry
Many are old now, after so many years
One would’ve thought they’d run dry
But predictably, always yet more tears
Familiar melody or maybe even a lyric
I can see it now, part of a scene I recall
In context it’s so very real, not esoteric
As if it’s here and now, not history at all
But how can it always have this effect
Despite a mature and balanced mind
There must be brain circuits to detect
And secret nerve connections to find
Sometimes it’s a face in a photograph
A snapshot of how we both used to be
When even a smile turns into a laugh
As if calling up a loss-tinged memory
I also can feel it strongly in my heart
Also in my gut, as a familiar tension
When I remember then, I fall apart
A loss that I find so hard to mention
But such responses I cannot control
A strong reaction I still can’t figure
Yet rising from so deep in my soul
They never do take much to trigger

Standing for freedom’s supremacy
Legitimately granted to be enjoyed
I am the "Freedom Pub*"
Tenaciously upholding what I believe is lawful
Anchored by the Constitution
Which strongly buttresses this nation I am part of…
Speaking for humane practices
That exposes unlawful mandates
Imposed by the government
I am the "Freedom Pub"
And I refuse to discriminate against anyone
Who is fulfilling his/her granted role with peace.
With this declaration
I am the "Freedom Pub"
Inviting all to feast rightfully inside my building
Against fear of being segregated or neglected
While welcoming the vaccinated and unvaccinated
To dine in, celebrating good health… blest by the Almighty**.

In the town of Singleton, Hunter valley, NSW
Stands the Caledonian hotel, called the Cali
Famous not only for its popular pub
But also for standing strong for Aussies freedom.
Mystery surrounds the hotel, claimed haunted
As four people died for unknown reason
Unexplainable voices are heard in the rooms
Not known if these are legends or true.
Upholding the access of entry in the Cali for all
The Federation Aussie Flag on its roof
Stood for the law of the land that supported
Human rights, freedom of choice, respect of dignity.
Although the symbol of Aussies freedom
And indeed of liberty of the humanity and the world
The flag was taken down by a special order
The famed country pub is crowned the Freedom Hotel.

In Singleton, there's a hotel
that stands tall like a citadel;
Where choice reigns, as you can tell,
and freedom rings like a bell;
Where the voice of history,
inscribed in awe and chivalry
cries loud against debauchery
and mental slavery;
Where the banner of the union
waves to repel discrimination;
Where peaceful demonstration
is sought to end the reign of coercion.
Against tyranny, we shall then stand
and echo our voice throughout the land.
Let's join together, hand in hand
for the glory of the fatherland.
One flag, one nation.
Freedom is our devotion.
Let us join hands against segregation.
Long live the federation!

UNITY
In solitude
Fully grown
One, alone
Singleton
Partner gone
Plaintive tone
Still I moan
In servitude
Released from duty and constraint
With a deep furrowed brow
I will make it my vow
We shall again connect
She still has that effect
If my time will allow
I can search for her now
Follow her trail, however faint

Toxic people make me laugh
10 years on they're just as daft
thought maybe they’d change their act
but they're stuck on this simple path
they never learn from their mistakes
accelerating when they should brake
completely false completely fake
single dumb but think they're great
doing what they’ve always done
just as stupid just as dumb
manipulating everyone
no sense of humour no sense of fun
the unlovable unlikeable simpleton
an above the law spiteful singleton
must be a punishment put on them
cheers you up though, you aint one

Chris Singleton
Mother was victim so sent went viral;
While popularity of subject did spiral;
Spoke smiling,
In were filing;
Saw exciting reaction found in revival.
Jim Horn
"Chris Singleton, the son of Mother Emanuel AME shooting victim Sharonda Coleman- Singleton, has something to say. He first shared his message, that 'love is always stronger than hate,' just a day after his mother and eight others were murdered."

Condensed drops of stray emotions
Piece by piece build the iceberg
In years of isolated solitude
A singleton rain at 'dusk'
Bent upon breaking this ice
Open your heart
Let the lava flow
Help me melt this mount of snow
For the barrier should shed now
Pronouncing the US and WE now

I read your Singleton name,
with an opportune eye I made a friend request my aim,
to now write you a message in this poetic frame!
But I won't deny am in flame,
with the passion of knowing this you on my mainframe,
and a zeal of acquaintance is my aim!
Some may say am insane,
whereas am all the same,
over this Singleton I see in my hall of fame!
But I won't let the chance go,
if she accords me to know,
the Singleton my heart now yearns to know!
(Please, will you let me the chance of knowing you?)

Wow look at me
soaring across the globe
All my emotions feeling & thoughts ride high
on this magic carpet ride
Welcome to poetry soup Kerry
a big shout from Anne Lise
So warm and welcoming
I feel so at home
poetry soup has changed me
I no longer feel alone
This magic carpet ride has taken me
beyond places I thought I would never roam
Fly forever now
for there is no stopping me
So many to visit
& still so many to meet
I must be off now
as my magic carpet ride awaits
to fly me too
the next poets place..

in the modern world we have been hurled,
the maelstrom is inside us,
the greed of rich do cast their pitch,
the feathers can't abide much.
tarred and feathered,
brainwashed for 2 blind us....

It was long ago in the moonlight
the stars were silver and gold
the sand was silk beneath our feet
as the wind from the sea blew cold
one sweet sad kiss was our last goodbye
a red rose fell from your hand
for i see it again in a thousand dreams
bright petals lye there on the sand
it was long ago in the moonlight
how fast times river flows
magic the moment that never returns
when love was a red red rose.
