Premium Member It gets lonely out there
perched in heights above
with a good vantage point

a feral cat howls
in desperation
at the full moon

longing for its mate
gone missing in the night

My world moves parallel to yours
Try as I might I cannot reach you
I may understand from a vantage point
But I’ll forever wonder
Try as you might you’ll never reach me
You may only imagine
But you’ll try to help anyway
And that may be enough...

She is afraid of suspect spaces,
with sparse starlight, ancient arches,
abyss-steps, swinging lanterns &

comforted by a moonlit garden,
an expansive sky of navy blue,
glitter-stars in an elocutionary’s box.

How strange it must seem
when each thing becomes clearer
seen from a distance…

Perhaps the eyes have more time
to see every point of view

Perspective Shift
one moment
can change
your perspective
point of view
vantage point
this change can
be very important
it can cause the puzzle
pieces of life
to rearrange
move around
to create a new
picture of the future
that was never there
before this shift in
view...

Inadequate Inaccuracy
inadequate inaccuracy
never hit the mark
no matter practice
no matter efforts made
just a hair off the goal line
just out of range of the target
never able to get a clear shot
something always got in the way
of the vantage point from which
the target should have been visible...

From our vantage point,
with bliss we anoint
the form we ensoul,
that we may feel whole.

In our body prism,
divine magnetism
drawn in from vast space,
is purely God’s grace.

As the all there is,
radiating bliss,
form becomes God’s light
on a wingless flight.

Of the People
Our future he impacts
Social issues he just stacks

He gives educators the axe
Keeps piling the load on our backs
His stance on illegal immigrants lacks

He took a loose stance on tax
Mud slung, he seldom retracts
From his vantage point he acts

Lives in a mansion while we live in shacks
 Lots of promises, few facts...

Disadvantage Point
you could never understand,
what we're denied
from the vantage point
on which you stand,
your privilege

your money, power,
your cap and gown,
block this from view
when you look down,
from privilege

you cannot see, or you forget,
that all was built on
the blood and sweat
of those that you now stand upon,
with privilege...

Deja Vu
Play-rewind; rewind-play.
Something's at play, I can tell that much. Very strange!
What was that all about?
Like I've been here before, living twice at once.
Adorned, with a snapshot of a crossroad.
Memory in telepathy.
In a vantage point empathy of a particularly significant
thing.
But why it's significant? You got me.
Sure got me. Whoa...

Silent Murmurs
I have love
and children
and one bicycle too many
and memories,
some happy, some sad;
too many memories
of a girl by my side.

I have faith
and a God
of my not-quite understanding
and I'm seeking a vantage point
where I can see
how the pieces all fit together
as I watch them fall apart.

I have tears
and smiles
and an appreciation
for these silent murmurs
from my soul....

Early Days
Early Days

The highchair beside the kitchen door
my domain, vantage point of my world
on the linoleum checker board floor
I played until my knees were sore

The center of the world to me
I learned to know as my mother
cooked and cleaned while I was free
to grow into what I might be

A world consisting of black and white
as appropriate as the days television
images remembered vivid and bright
raised by my mother in love and light

Of Powers and Principalities
Life on a cellular and corporeal level seems to be
A relationship of complex interdependence
Where each living unit acknowledges a central theme
And concedes that theme to be more important than itself

This principle of functioning interdependence
Expresses the “will” of a conglomerate yet separate living organism

Should we assume this general principle stops with us
Merely because we no longer have a “safe” detached vantage point...

In Your Glances
Seasons pass with no apology,no pause...
thoughts hibernating with whispers so loud
words migrating, their drifting so subtle somehow
the horizon's stretching my determined focused view
the wind's singing so softly now, from my vantage point to you
and the clocks are just dragging, all this time away
you scream it in your glances, screaming for me to stay
jumbled puzzle pieces, that I must find
buried memories,haunted pictures...thoughts left behind...

The masked intruder burst through my front door.
While exiting a window, I heard pops.
He missed, but he pursued me as I fled.
Without my cell, I couldn’t call the cops.

Fear moved my legs; prayer led me to a place
to hide. From my safe vantage point I saw
him re-enter my house. He robbed me blind.
I wrote of this when feelings were still raw.

Vantage Point
The queue curls;
Serpentine.
Crimson faces
A woman exhales!
The last breath of her cigarette.
Takes her place:
at the tail end.
Thin silhouette, vital teeth missing!
We remain at the vantage point; watching.
Food bank: a new entry
In our dictionary.
A kindly man hands over green apples, a loaf of bread
And a tin of soup; indistinct!
To the mouth of the serpent:
An adolescent mother
With her babe in pushchair.
I usher my babes away;
Eyes moist!

We're halfway between the Earth and the Moon
Riding the sky in a hot air balloon
All through the day and well into the night
Me and my gal on a romantic flight

Floating aloft on an Easterly breeze
A vantage point over deep salty seas
The two of us engulfed in such pleasure
An experience beyond all measure

On this voyage is well worth defending
But sadly now it's time we're descending
So down through the clouds with nary a sound
The tale we can tell when we hit the ground...
