Silent Murmurs

I have love
and children
and one bicycle too many
and memories,
some happy, some sad;
too many memories
of a girl by my side.

I have faith
and a God
of my not-quite understanding
and I'm seeking a vantage point
where I can see
how the pieces all fit together
as I watch them fall apart.

I have tears
and smiles
and an appreciation
for these silent murmurs
from my soul.

wow , chuck, this is so sad and deep and wonderful. I was looking thru old comments and recalled you once commented to me on a few poems. Looked you up and saw you had not been here in a long time. Where are you?

Hi Chuck, this gave me goose bumps! You touch so gently on what you are saying and leave the rest to our imagination. Very strong and leaves me feeling quite emotional. Love, Lizzie

Great words. And I love the ending. "silent murmurs from my soul" and "not-quite understanding" love your interesting play on words. Quite liked this verse. Keep it up! Always, Laura
