Clear Blue Day

clear blue day
lone moose watches
wolves shadow

*moose and wolves are common in Canada.
Wolves will hunt in packs and can take down a full grown moose.

Take is a Most Versatile Word

Take is a most versatile word
Take back
Take down
Take out
None of these meanings absurd
Take away
Take off
Take over too
I would like to be this versatile, wouldn’t you?

First, Do No Harm

The tiniest microbes do the greatest harm
    some with spindly legs
      some with toothpick arms

  They fell powerlifting champions
    take down mighty oaks

Fools dismiss 'germs' as a hoax
Wise men aware they might croak

Untitled

Take down the photos
of rivers run dry
Throw out the offerings
to the gods of luck and time
Claw for the right words
Spit them out on the pavement
Carve this life into a home
Know you'll never want for comfort
Know you'll always be alone

Our War

They call it war
Others say it is much more
People risking thier lives
Too protect thier husbands or wives
They took down two of ours
So we take down all of their buildings and cars
Its a war that will never end
So more and more troops we send

Why Fight a Fight That's Already Lost

As he once again broke through
his selfmade illusions
He noticed that the feeling
of both love and sorrow remained

so he closed his eyes
and acknowledged his defeat
before the battle even begun
He just couldn't take down his opponent,
even if it didn't exist

Sherlock and Watson

Sherlock Holmes was seen at the local bar
Spying while drinking and smoking cigars
Ready to break his crime case
And take down the shady place
While Watson safely waited in the car

When

"When"

“When”

When we dream
 And when we love
Is there anything
 Above
 When we begin
 In our dreams
 In our past
We can try and make this last
Change is one way of bravery
 But
 Deep inside theirs a child
 Still afraid
 Learning to crawl
 Take down the walls
Be proud.

Hopes and Dreams

i keep my hopes and dreams

inside a paper sack

i pull them out when i feel the need

the ones that are stale i put them back

those i take down to the shore

and toss them in the sea

the fresh ones like i said i keep

and take them home with me

to pull out when i feel the need

We Are a Disgrace

We, the human race
have been breeding, with to much pace
as our planet, is in such a disgrace
and now we have, real mud on our face

We think, that we can eat money
but we destroy, the bees that make honey
and take down forests, that make life sunny
for the greed of money, sending all life down the dunny

Freedom Is Near

Scorched by the enemies
I want to take down,
Quicker than the eye,
Rather than being pushed around,
Seeing is believing
Turning my life around,
It has been rough, but more achieving,
Seeing the greatest end of the road,
Not too farther to go,
On the way down I will get defeated,
Until it's my turn,
I will win my freedom!

Playground Closing

Last days at the playground
Kiddies squealing with delight
Before the rangers take down swings
And cover the merry-go-round
With waterproof canvassing.
Tots return to their playrooms at home
And dream of Santa Claus's bounty
Which will come, but seems forever--
Seemed forever when I was a kid.

LIES

Most people in this
Day and time, live there
Lives believing in lies
They know better but
That’s what they choose to believe
In order to take down one person
They’re risk destroying hundreds
Not thinking that they’ll soon
Be hurt in the process because
Believe it or not
You can’t take down GOD!
Nor interrupt his plans

The Book Is Broken

don't thumb to page twenty six;
the book is broken.
profiteering is proving to be
more useful than
words softly spoken.

wave ya hands 'round
and take down the banners
that hung since
we heard the new sound.
they ain't allowed
no more.

shoes crafted
from pure pleather.
updated ethics
and a concern
for the weather.

I Control the Storms

why ride a wave?
I'd rather let it ride me
to make me brave
so I can ride eternity
why take shelter from the rain?
I'd rather it drench me in hope
      it might sound insane
but it will teach me to cope
in a flood I refuse to drown
I let it wash through my soul
making me too strong to take down
it's the storms that make me whole

Jack the Knight...

Jack the cat is ready to kill for his king.
He has his mesh on with his green
Eyes looking mean.

He is hanging back with claws of steel.
He can take down three armor men
In on seconds appeal.

Jack just hangs around the castle.
Waiting on a another intrusion hassle.

So Jack the Cat will never let someone
Enter his home with out death to Pay.

Buried

I wish I had nothing to lose
I wish I could fly
I wish I could leave
I wish I could die
and take down with me
the story of my life
to be buried in a in a place
no one could ever possibly find.

And i don't a knight
to rescue me
I'm good alone
just like it is
I just like to vent
what tries to kill
my desire to love
my desire to live.

Cannot Let Christmas Tree Go Yet

It is June 7th.
I am not willing to let Christmas go,
Because it did not happen this last year.
Not like it was supposed to.
Not like it always does.
A lingering family death changed everything.
Do you suppose we can take down the tree?
My husband dares to ask.
I give him a look
Of which I am not familiar.
He knows not to ask again,
for I am not ready yet….

Copied Attitudes

Cope with me then copy me shifting as if no rules exist and we're all fools or is it a peculiar plan to ask lies to be told then suddenly and out of this word take down the shameful mask give me salvation and give me your truth never mind my temptation just make me the ruse flawed behaviors and forced tools to make us all the same then we'll be cool

The Tragic City

The Coyle’s curtains are closed,
Coal mines no longer employ,
Might as well destroy,
A once thriving steel town,
The record books should take down,
The history which lies on these streets,
Within these buildings,
Formed by immigrants,
From bare hands and backbones,
Drowned in crime now,
Writhing beneath the poverty line,
Turning to a ghost town,
Charleroi will be no more.

Flag Day

*Happy Flag Day

Today is Flag Day with protestors here
I will not take down my Flag or cower in fear
I will not apologize for being white
Or an American Patriot, with my flag in sight
I will not kneel to you, or submit
No matter the threats in your violent fit
I will not apologize for something "I" didn't do
But, I will stand for my country, unlike you

Lightning They Name Is Woman

there is a tree in the forest
targeted by lightning in a storm
ten times more likely to get hit
than any other tree

because lightning has a “type”
like men have a “type”
she goes after an oak
six times more often than any other tree

no one knows why
because they have forgotten that lightning is a woman
who wants to destroy the sturdy and the strong
she wants to take down a man

Take It with You

Take down yesterday from its framed photograph.
Screw yourself back inwards -you’re leaking,
spilling your truth away day by day.

Take a pic of your dinner, say a prayer over the broccoli.
Take the burnt end of the day,
twist it around a trembling finger,
take a small pill to shrink the nightmares.

Take a look at your finger, try to remember
what to take with you when you are not going
anywhere.

One Brick At a Time

You patiently take down one brick at a time
From this wall I live behind
You show me how much you care
And that you always will be here
I closed my heart afraid of pain
Don't ever want to feel that again
Slowly you open the door that is locked so tight
Reassuring me every thing will be alright
Helping me let go of this fear of mine
Showing a heart so true and kind

Momento

What is left,
what remains
beyond pain at my leaving
as memories fade
at the end of your grieving
when the tide in which you wade
is not so cold and not so deep
what then my love
which memories will you keep,
the echo of my voice
wrapped in memory,
pressed in a book
will you take a look
but not too hard,
don’t stay too long,
remember me fondly
when I am gone
then take down my picture
and carry on
