Billie Boy was a lad from Down Under
Who with explosives rarely did blunder.
But he became diverted
By a blonde short-skirted.
Blam! Off to Wagga Wagga asunder....

Issues Skirted
Issues Skirted

All issues Trump seems to have skirted;
Had been confusing when things blurted;
He did distort;
Mission abort;
More bull stuff out of him again squirted.

Seen In Her Visions - Roman Priestess's
Femina spiritus.
Breezy skirted.
There above it; in name of Spring
World, perfuming.
Of rose, iris embroidered
Back and forth sway.
In who's temple, to Flora's own
Prayful wait shown....

Premium Member Sauntered Freely
I sauntered freely as a child
around the mountain ridge.
On Falcon's wings I flew the mile
across the placid lake to wooden bridge,
where fir laden path skirted water;
and powdered snow the ground did alter....

Premium Member Just Down the Road
It
was but
a dirt lane.
Berry bushes
skirted it. Beyond
were grandpa’s fields of grain.
Just down the road was the barn
and framed yellow house with white fence -
home to my mom’s parents, now dead, like
memories that too soon will be buried....

David's Friends Round For Tea.
When I was young
My friends' parents were old
Tweed-skirted sensible mums
Vague shadows in the kitchens
of my childhood world.
Now I'm a mother,
a shadow of myself.
In my leggings and boots
I have tweed-skirted opinions
And hush puppy ambitions....

Adiós
We are here at the crossroad
In our steps the road was behind was long
But in our memories it is short
Limitless time
Still confines our days together
So today we come face to face
With a dreaded goodbye
Well skirted
Adiós amigo
Adiós my friend
Adiós! ! !...

Summertime
I.

Ta da, ta da, flip,

like cards in bicycle spokes,

percussive shoe, flop...

II.

Long spaghetti straps,

full circle twirly skirted,

sundress in warm breeze.

III.

Morning sand dune climb,

woven basket, cheese, red wine,

noon apéritif.

Premium Member Hanging On For Dear Life
A gust caught a giggle
Scooping me up above the tree line
where the hot air balloons live
And the clouds play tether ball
Scattering the stars
Catapulting around Saturn
Hanging on for dear life
As the dragon kite skimmed and skirted
me back over the dewy grass
Dropping me like a note into my dreams

There are dungeons and dragons
maidens in distress
Legends of realms
 knights on skirted horses
and maidens all dressed in fancy dresses
fire trucks
 spaceships
 robotic vehicles
just to mention a few
Peter rabbit
Santa Claus
Smurfs
and ogres alike
just come to the library
to be thrown in the mix...

Elm Tree
I told the elm it was called ELM, and it was grateful,
for it always wondered what its name could be.
I told the elm I liked it stately,
and in reply it waved a branch to me.

It watched me as I skirted round it
in long skirts I wore back then,
and the elm looked through its kindly branches
while I wrote ELM on twig with pen.

Little Butterfly 8x8
I watched a little butterfly

A dainty thing, of vivid hues.

It fluttered here, then over there

I wondered, which bloom would it choose.

It skirted round the flower bed

To my delight, it liked the rose.

If I had been that butterfly,

That is the bloom I would have chose.

Premium Member Delightful Visions
The stakes were high
  and so was I
at the prospect of secrets
  between her skirted thighs

Careful, cautious, calculating
  I turned the conversation
to echoes of two hearts pulsating

A newborn we'd welcome into the world
delightful visions before my eyes did swirl

Turned my cheek toward her tender shoulder ~
from my perch on the floor, my visions did smolder...

Premium Member Early Spring
I saw a nest today --
first new for the year;
Colorful, feathered architects
a-flit and a flutter...
weaving, securing,
sharing a cheerful, chirping,
instinctive mating mutter --

though the calendar says
not quite from winter clear…
but critters, themselves know
when spring is near – far more
accurate than a short skirted
girl, pointing to a map
with a wiggle and a twirl….

Premium Member The Lacy Dress
she rises and floats
in a lacy dress of white
skirted by heavens own light

soaked in morning thought
the rainfall caresses " life "
in creative fanfare time

charcoal middling clouds
singing songs, await her not
she is happy as can be

lofting in God's house
as soft as angel whispers
her voice carries me away

The bookstore door

startles open with

a man's hearty hand

and sincere smile

landing upon

this skirted lady,

bashful to be

coddled, but

undoubtedly

wanting it.

Mirrored cheeks widen

like the open door

with hearts extending.

Thanks is verbalized

and humbly

appreciated.

He tilts his top hat

and I am flattered

by the flirt

of uncommon

courtesy.

Fragile Habitats
That first picnic atop Mount Wells
with the silver survival
blanket and flask
steaming with tea and wild flowers bursting
yellow, cerise and indigo deep
in sedge grass, you said
“it takes seven years for Camas to grow
back if trampled,” and
cautiously skirted the ruptures of colour
while I wondered how many
years to recover
if we tread too carelessly

the chase
1000 colorful shadows float around my head
rejoicing in the depths of solitude
they take no heed
singing to the skinless drum
Fate has a circular charm
Tin soldiers caught in the fire
with three madman awaiting their charge
The hounds in their hundreds chase the singular fox

Standing on the hill
dark giving in to light
I cried
kissed the cities outskirts
the abided moonlight
skirted the countryside

Troublesome Heart
Ive heard about love,
Of how its tempting,
Of how its addicting..
It has petrified me always,
So ive always skirted around it..
Avoiding the chaos,
Wanting nothing to do with it..

But now i tire of my empty life,
I want everything i ram away from..
The wistful sighs, the sad goodbyes,
Tge promises, the kisses,
The yearning, the mourning..

I know its not an easy road,
But i still want it all now..
I want the trouble,
I want LOVE.....
