Self-Defense
"Unlawful attacked
Provoked him to kill and rush
                                           Imprisonment reigned"....

Self Love
What if I tell you
that I've start believing
all things should come
...from a place of love

Would you say then
that all my hatred
is just a caring act
of self defense?...

Self Defense
To every one of them,
to every single John named Judas,
who took my flame and made it dim
and blew me away like mucus,
while the cycle doesn't wash but spins:
You forced me to murder Cupid!...

There was an old lawyer named Ruth
Who didn't mind bending the truth.
No scoundrel too bad,
If money he had.
He'd have pled self defense for Wilkes Booth.

The morning fog obscures, ironic in a sense,
as water particles are likewise in suspense;
muffling all sound, they coalesce in self-defense,
uncertain of their fate when sunshine does commence.

My heart is a little lonely home with
confetti cannons;
It soars with smoke and sparkling stardust;
My heart pounds with no destination for the rush of everything so intense;
At the risk of an unintentional direct hit?
I shut it down in self defense....

Premium Member To Jail - and I Won'T Return Home
He told the cops I’d hit him with our expensive lampshade.
He even had a bruise to show them, yet
they had not seen him come at me with his now-hidden blade.
He was so convincing they could not believe HE had been a threat.
A night in jail for self-defense was the price I paid....

Premium Member Peace At Last
Here we lie in peace without strife
which we always had in married life.
What a pity that it took cold murder
to break us up and separate us further.
And stranger still, if not bizarre,
we should have met at the same bar
and learned simultaneously
of each other’s infidelity.
And how quickly we took offense
and shot each other in self-defense....

Circumventing the Silence 1
The night so long with dreaded suspense
and pain the darkness augments.
Morning circumvents
the silence.
Grope!

Dawn's mist of dew inspires common sense
dread retreats in self-defense.
Morning circumvents
the silence.
Cope!

Birdsong echoes my triumph intense,
stirring light and breeze commence.
Morning circumvents
the silence.
Hope!...

Premium Member The Hole In the Fence
It beckons, taunts
"I dare ya!"
Come a little closer
Let me scare ya
Take a peek
you know ya wanna
We won't tell
Scouts honor

WHAP - whipped cream
Right in the kisser
Life's comment tossed
Serpent like "hisser"
She left her marks
But I still miss her

For she had added
Flesh to bone
Put peanut butter
On a scone

So must the muse my
In self defense
Challenge itself
Peek through the fence

Broadcast #7
She sees herself obsessed
with perfection, utterly lost
without positive direction;
confounded by the thought
of indiscretion, she needs
some space, some time,
some introspection.

Confounded, self defense
Becomes digression,
not knowing if she's penned
the right correction; her mentor
had the nerve to take vacation
and left her in a mess
of speculation.

His Monday morning dose
Of adoration, has been put
On hold....

Sea Like People
Vast and mighty ocean
Why pretend to be blue?
Angry yes, at times you seems,
but blue isn’t you.
Is it because …
the sun steals your substance
and gives it to the clouds?
But the rain returns your essence
 ten thousand fold.
Is it because the land stops you
from roaming thoughtlessly free?
The earth screams self defense.
You snatch the sun’s sensation
and warm yourself at night.
Are you sad because your angry torrent
claimed so many lives?...

Does it make you weak to watch me bleed
or are you an apathetic beast?
Is my love another meal to you?
Will it churn and run right through?

Did your heartbeat's pounding scare you
 when in my carnivorous view?
Were you afraid of its strength unleashed?
Would I devour your fleshy feast?

Did you attack the lively prey first
 for your yearning stomach's thirst,
or did you break my flesh apart
in self-defense of your own heart?...

Dawn’s Joyful Arc

The old bridge is gone
as is the rapid chatter
destiny’s wheels,
steel on steel progress
streaming a black ribbon
of hope’s hubris.

The river rose up –
a revolt against
the cold black film –
perhaps. More likely
in self defense
as empty words
now filled the silence.

A swan sits upon
a mounded nest
eyeing the muskrat.
In the mist
dawns joyful arc
bridges the river.

Crucified By the Press
Donald oh Donald you've met the press.
You hold to your guns in self defense.
You haven't a sin for sharing with
and follow a code that makes more sense.

We all know you're rich and get the girls.
It's true that the money's attractive.
We hope that one day we'll be more like you.
Self-made and little more active.

Don't worry for not being politically correct.
Or income for tax paid zero.
The truth is we want a regular guy
to shoot down the Press like a hero....

Premium Member Bamboozling Our Children
We decided on hand signals.
They got sillier each day.
Pretending to speak to each other.
Stroking our imaginary beards.

Sometimes we cawed or tweeted.
It drove our children bananas.
We did this in self-defense.
It frustrated them, causing them to leave.

It was the only way we could talk.
Have adult conversation
Without being interrupted
by our children.

Sure, they pout a bit,
but within ten minutes most of them are back.
So, it doesn’t permanently traumatize them....

Self Destructive Self-Defense Mechanism
Gorging upon self-indulgence
while your soul lies starving in the corner
Dissociatively liberated from consequence
as the host endures accountability

Psychotically clinging to a desirable fiction
(an accessible and depraved fantasy)
and basking in its soothing narratives
whenever the tangible becomes inconvenient

Dipping sporadically into a permeable
realm of artificial favorability
Detaching yourself from that which exists
to experience that which is merely theoretical...
