Dawns Joyful Arc

Dawn’s Joyful Arc The old bridge is gone as is the rapid chatter destiny’s wheels, steel on steel progress streaming a black ribbon of hope’s hubris. The river rose up – a revolt against the cold black film – perhaps. More likely in self defense as empty words now filled the silence. A swan sits upon a mounded nest eyeing the muskrat. In the mist dawns joyful arc bridges the river. ©10/23/2018 for – Rainbows Poetry Contest

Thank you Line. There is a "river" that flows through the Back Bay, Fens in Boston called, at least by us as children "The Muddy River"....I think it crept into this poem

Thank you Connie, your comments and visits are always appreciated. A third grader once asked me "Do you know how to catch a unique bird"......the answer...."You "neek" up on it"

My favorite from the first read and stayed through many others, from the pen of one who's seen the old bridge go and new hopes arise.

Thank you so much for the placement of this poem. The idea of a "non-cliche" rainbow write set the muse wandering.
