Carnivorous Beasts
Does it make you weak to watch me bleed
or are you an apathetic beast?
Is my love another meal to you?
Will it churn and run right through?
Did your heartbeat's pounding scare you
when in my carnivorous view?
Were you afraid of its strength unleashed?
Would I devour your fleshy feast?
Did you attack the lively prey first
for your yearning stomach's thirst,
or did you break my flesh apart
in self-defense of your own heart?
