For Sotto Poet's Creative Writing Prompts Poetry Contest
He told the cops I’d hit him with our expensive lampshade.
He even had a bruise to show them, yet
they had not seen him come at me with his now-hidden blade.
He was so convincing they could not believe HE had been a threat.
A night in jail for self-defense was the price I paid.
