A Satin Moon
Sometimes I perceive the moon as a pearl; a polished satiny gem. Aloft the world in midnight's pitch, surrounded by myriads of stars... baguettes of celestial diamonds. June 19, 2021 Bite Size Poem No.8 Contest Sponsor: Line Gauthier

Sleeping Beauty

to fatigue a woman
via satiny sleep
is my forte
any lady I can send into repose
my formula seems a grand success
I recite my long winded poetry

sleeping beauty falls
     endlessly
   into coma
as I weep
	she sleeps...

Premium Member Saffrony Summer
Sunflower sunset.
The flight of indigo birds,
midst pink, blue and gold.
Saffrony summer again,
spreads beauty from sea to sea.

Sparkle, shimmer, shine,
all moonlit, starry nighttime,
when scents are dreamy.
Summer of satiny bliss,
and nights among cool roses....

Premium Member Illusory Vision
In an illusory vision, I perceive the moon
High aloft the world in midnight's pitch,
polished to a satiny sheen; burnished pearl,
a solitaire gem mounted in celestial skies
surrounded by multi-faceted diamonds,
myriads of gleaming stars before my eyes....

Some special seasons seem sad
  oh-so solemn
Others -- sallow, slow, even silly

But X-mas season 'tis to savor
  soothing, silky, serene
sending us soaring skyward
  with its satiny, snowy scenes

Premium Member Satin Nights
It's texture most beautiful.
In huge folds and swirls,
Deep shadows enveloped me;
To dress me up in black.
Smooth, billowy,
How it thrills me!
The night is back.
Moving through the trees,
Swirling ebony waters,
As dreams come true.
I must go out at night.
I cannot miss the sight,
Of those satiny, satin nights!...

Chiffon Memories
Give me only chiffon memories
Layered in clouds of satiny ruffles
Fill them with immortal confection
Fashioned with cherry and chocolate truffles

Take away the memoirs of rain
The shadows of pain and wire mesh veils
Exchange them for lyrical chords of reflection
For resonant whitecaps and whispering sails...

Satiny softness surrounds me as your touch ensnares me in ardent, consuming passion for which there is no exultation too much. I desire no respite, escape, dispassion as I am your unrelenting paramour offering a safe harbor for you to moor. Stay with me upon this sea of ecstasy and we shall conceive our lasting legacy.

Moon and stars dazzles with their light
With you in my dreams, a more delight

Soft huge pillows secured on my arms
With you in my dreams, I'm unharmed

Smooth satiny sheets to give me comfort
With you in my dreams, a sweet cheesy effort

I whispered to God with you is my forever
Not only in dreams is my evening prayer..

Premium Member Ribbons In the Sky
To just wake precious one day,
And see our heavens filled with ribbons in God's sky.
Flying in patterns, every which way.
Satiny and soft~ swishing, as the winds may.
A beautiful, ribbony relief for all of humankind to see.
To uplift not only me, but more significantly...thee!

Premium Member I couldn't talk about it, so I wrote a poem
No Rush

Hair brush through my hair, no rush.
The wrinkles will not slow, but time
slows on the satiny pillow, in throes.
The bed softly creaks as our eyes speak.
They do not stare as the fire sparks.
Familiar lips brush tender flesh, kindling
the oneness, the forever afterness.
The rush of internal flames combust
followed by serenity of tousled hair.
No rush to run bristles through my locks.

Together
•
Serene and satiny uneasy things,
Wraps in the breath of sea,
to which I keep my seasons naked with bruises,
So you could be calm when you find me .
and slow down the season,
With the sky in your eyes ,
In simple expression ,
So that I can fly .
to a quiet place for us ,
Where we are restless ,
But our pieces remain together,
when we grow as birds gather .

Daft Books

The books are losing all their pages -
Poetic, language, historic - all their sages.
Invisible ink between the satiny sheets.
The volumes of milk absent from their teats.

The bindings - ripping, roaring, caustic -
Old farts - haggardly - facade of plastic.
Our youth feeds on fodder from their tablet pens,
Texting emojis and acronyms from their Mercedes Benz.

Ice crystals glistening like faceted diamonds On fingers of snow piling on the sun porch Where the sun is supposed to be in charge, Winter’s white satiny gown shimmers, and, Reflections on nearing spring are dead and gone. Still, tomorrow will see a cloudless, blue sky Temperatures low, but blue sky is promising, I shall continue to think of warmer days ahead.

Premium Member She Makes Me Smile
Satiny paw pads tap my cheek and I awake to the tickle of whiskers upon my nose. With another morning begun, a lulling purr produces a giggle and I open my eyes to my furry friend. Breakfast is a matter of egg-sharing; but she prefers a little cheese in her eggs. Bored with the usual fare I look up to find a yogurt faced kitten. It’s these precious and all too brief, moments that produce new meaning within each day.

Premium Member If Only I Had a Satiny Bow

I would joyfully wrap it about us both
like a present.
To be given to God, for a life abundant
and so blessed with His love.

We just are incapable of thanking Him
enough.
The memories, of deep, Santorini blue!
In a holy celebration, of the deepest
love, I have eternally for you.

I'd beg God, to allow us a humble abode
in His heaven.
Where He would bless us once again,
and we could have more children..
This time, how about seven?
