road trip on fall day
highway under construction...
powerful tar scent
Overloaded van by
My nutty family!
Passengers, all ages,
Destination Disney
Land, pop songs blaring high
Reached Las Vegas instead!
Road trip madness
On-going packing
Another suitcase honey?
Drive baby drive
Time to........
Relax
Invigorate myself
Pamper my old bones!
Drove across the state
To go on a date
Found her online
Her picture looked fine
Knock on her door
My mind starts to soar!
IT'S A MAN
As we near the end of our road trip
a blessing from an old amateur wordsmith:
No road is ever too long
if you have someone to share it with
One thing you learn on a road trip…
as road after road is crossed…
is
there is so much beauty to be discovered
even those times we are lost.
Listen to poem:
Ah the joys of sunrise
awakened from sleeping
in car on a carefree
surfing safari trip
up north, with just me and
my board transfixed in bliss
Cruisin' down country lane
Top down, no sign of rain
Singin' with radio
No place special to go
Stop to pick a ripe pear
Bear roars— I'm outta there!
They fret
There yet?
She bit
He hit
Jaw tight
Food fight
Oh Gee
Must Pee
More thrill
Big Spill
Irate
We're late!
They nod
Thank God!
I think
BIG drink
Long before G P S,
we planned a trip out west.
Four hours later, you said,
“Is this all in my head?
First fill-up of the car
is right back where we are!"
Let us take a road trip,
now off with bags and zip.
Snow covers the wide road,
no grass here to be mowed.
Cow riding the tractor,
is it a huge actor?
When Horace Greeley said to "Go West",
I put his idea to the test.
On the next bright sunny day
I drove my car from L.A.,
and found, "Go East" would have been best.
Rough roads
Occasional vomiting
And crying by weary child
Deadly tailback
Terrain becomes pretty
Rapidly relaxing
Into destination
Paradise
We had been on the road for about thirteen hours by then
So the traffic that we saw was a most unwelcome sight
A turtle, on his own road trip, crawled across the highway
The road is calling me,
to journey in the wild;
for me this would be bliss,
and free my inner child.
Down roads of hued green trees,
to get lost in the breeze !
neon
vibrant colours
dance upon darkened skies
guiding light on the mother road
fading
This poem was inspired by my stay at the Blue Swallow Motel on Historic Route 66 in Tucumcari, NM.
It had no radio
and couldn't fly at all
every wheel would wobble
because they were too small
~ red and rusted wagon,
a limo for my dog...

Oasis on sixty-six
beckons weary travelers.
One step off the chosen path.
Nostalgic flashback.
This poem was inspired by my stay at the Blue Swallow Motel on Historic Route 66 in Tucumcari, NM.
road trip to a concert
on their old j a l o p y
songs blast on radio
head-bobbing, foot-tapping,
and finger-snapping fun...
until front tire blows out!
There we go again to where
Where you ask on the road
A further road trip by wheels
Which direction do we go?
Any point of the compass
We will bring our effect there
Get ready for our arrival
logging a hundred miles
old camper now rusted---
each reverie...a tear
eyes moonless torn by nights;
frazzled rites of youth's trysts ,
were never just ...road sprees
That night I kissed you,
Under the stars,
I could feel the rush,
Of the passing cars,
You are my heavens highway.
My breath was took,
As I held your hand,
Behind the wheel,
enjoying the drive.

Reading the pointing map
Oozing sweet fumes
Amazing natural landscape
Driving on oil and gas.
Trails of accidents
Rims here and there.
Inscriptions old and new
'Pure Town' is just few metres..
Regardless of what we do
On holidays
An adventure is planned
Driving in the car with
The intensions of
Reaching and enjoying our destination
Ignoring directions given we realize
Planned trips are more enjoyable
Road Trip
Rumbling down the road,
Over potholes, bumps and hills,
Active backseat of kids
Dead set on not taking spills.
Trying to make it home,
Rain was causing delay.
Inside the car we were
Praying all the way.
