Long before G P S, we planned a trip out west. Four hours later, you said, “Is this all in my head? First fill-up of the car is right back where we are!"

Andrea, I’m most impressed with this. The twist in the plot is like the plot itself. It’s rooted in daily life with the sudden turns associated with such trips Good luck in contest Howard

Dear Andrea, your poem made me laugh out loud! Before GPS, road trips were true adventures-sometimes ending up right where you started. Sometimes the best journeys are the ones that don’t go as planned, but create lasting memories anyway. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

In 88 when we went out to Wyoming, I was turning 12 that summer while on the trip. We went down to AAA and got ourself a driving map from our home in Ohio all the way out to Wyoming.

We took a “walk” like that in New Orleans. My sweet cousin used her GPS. We walked for a while and found ourselves back at the place we were staying. She says: oh no…in her sweet calm voice, so we hopped into an uber.

I enjoyed reading your fun "Road Trip" write. How did we ever travel without GPS and only with maps??? I still love a good map. Maybe next time go with a map to get where you want to go. Hahaha!!! I love taking fun road trips. "Good Luck" We both did this one. Have a wonderful day on a road trip or writing away.............
