Unwrapped in autumn is a potpourri of imagery.
It's nature's gift and sparks the harvesting of poetry!
poem potpourri
words once living in our hearts
preserved on the screen-
flower fragments of our souls
fragrance of feelings lingers

In the magic screen
A potpourri of poems
Words once alive in the heart
Textures, shapes, sizes
Pieces of our different lives
The fragrance lingers with me.

Horizons bright in tints of flight
beam welcoming rays, breaking free;
excitement springs at lifting wings--
celestial metamorphosis

I once met a girl from Beverly Hills
who sold a potpourri of mind-bending pills.
I bought one and ate it,
and my entire mind got negated.
It was one of my life's most forgettable thrills.
frosty crunch to grass
potpourri warming noon sun
wide eyed angel-blue skies
pumpkins' glowing grins
kisses in tall cornfield maze
haunted house echoes with screams

Stagnantly idle, all can see
Horrifying comments, said upon to me
Utterance of ignorance, because I disagree
Thunderous demands; broken debris
Unkempt existence; useless plea
Piercing is the voice; an obnoxious potpourri
Each day as I awaken,
Potpourri's on my mind;
Those moments we shared as one,
Together, our hearts entwined
The years bred forth an eerie change,
Our spirits grew further apart;
Those sweet memories of potpourri,
Won't mend a broken heart
A potpourri of imagery
Is nature's gift unwrapped by fall.
Bright colors burst from every tree!
A potpourri of imagery
sparks harvesting of poetry
ere winter shows her chilling pall.
A potpourri of imagery
Is nature's gift unwrapped by fall
love can achieve the words I weave
on a canvas etched on my heart
whispered each day these words I say
fell in love with you from the start

quote no 3 :
people forget that marriage is art so should be refreshed everyday
Be free, the insanity instantly flees
The jubilee spree, yippee--whee
Enormously guarantee, carefree
Smelly potpourri, yummy ice tea
Bullyfree, hearttree, pleasantly be
Fiddledeedee, lovingly sea 2 sea
This was for a contest that you had to rhyme every word
Staring at her hips, my tie flips
As a button drops through my neck--
What a mess; but she did confess
I was grinning sans ego’s flair!

New wings to don, my love has gone
To happy new home he has earned.
I need to dry the tears I cry,
Cheer with him for his grand new life.

relating to quote 4
"Death is not extinguishing a light.
It is putting out the lamp because a new day has come."
Gazing at a star, near and far
I embrace the glow within---
Once uncertain of my own reign,
The self now honors its brave light.

Response to potpourri
Death, beginning new life in zing,
Twilight of dusk veiled by darkness,
For night's rest after long conquest,
Unfolds into morning sunrise.

Gathering forest treasures with pixie lust,
she drowns her fears with these organic reminders of love.
She weaves them into melodic prayers,
seeping her soul in the fragrant tea.
Leaves, sticks, pebbles and flowers,
Her potpourri biopsy of nature's sublime.
A hippie heart, this lady of mine.

Her mood changes, I’ll never guess
But, she’s the breath that soothes time’s ache---
Mildly rambling,my fond words bring
A love nurtured through season’s test.

“People forget that marriage is art,
So it should be refreshed every day.” Quote 3
A real man smiles in stormy seasons
He tries to tame his timely tears.
A brave man smiles for unknown reasons...
He strives to starve his flaws and fears.
No one is born flawless and fearless,
Life is a potpourri of bloom and gloom.
Some chose to be hopeless and cheerless,
By giving gloom an ample space to bloom.
You don’t need a log on a fire.
You don’t need a soft sheepskin rug;
Just a comfortable place
That you’ve made your own space
And, if lucky, a smile or a hug.
Forget all those candles and dimmers
Or potpourri wafting above;
When you’re home in your nest
What most people like best
Is to know you’re surrounded by love.
Passion…life’s heart beat
Reverberating in me
Relentless rhythm
Caution to the win
Exposed to your love’s onslaught
I’m completely drenched
Basking in the sun
Love rays penetrate my soul
My heart’s on fire
In the still of night
With moon and star witnesses
I give in to you
Passion…life’s heartbeat
Pulsating through you and me
A fusion of love
In church I said I do to you
our journey has not been easy.
Marriage takes work; we must not shirk
total commitment, love and trust.

Robert L. Hinshaw's inane potpourri

Then old Bill Shakespeare's works will ever be

I was once vivacious.
Now I walk with hunched back
And downcast eyes.
I was once outspoken.
Now uncertainty glues my mouth shut.
I was once a dancing daffodil.
Now I drag my feet just to leave the house.
Spring is leaving my eyes.
The blossoms in my heart
Are beginning to wither.
I pick up the fallen petals
To make a potpourri
Out of my midlife.
Dear man, you are a distant star.
I wish your eyes on me would shine.
Come close to me; a firefly be,
So I might hold you in my palm!
