There was a wee orphaned lad named Kerplunk
Poor kid wore clothes to school that always stunk
   The principal despaired

Listen to poem:
A mere mortal
I am to AI.
A demi tasse slurp,
a tiny thought bubble,
blowing in the wind,
pieced to pop with puny plunk,
just a pip spat out.
My brain drained to a pitiful
paltry piddle, into
the insatiable sea
of AI's knowledge bank....

Rain
I like the rain
And its effortless thoughts
That plunk down on plastic furniture

Sleeping cars
Grimacing pedestrians
Interrupting your Sunday hair

And how we scatter away
In our silly ways, like ducks on a pond
Instead of drinking
The world...

Mother Rowan
There stands the rowan tree
Older than mother bird a-nesting in her boughs
Tall she stands, to catch the breeze
That whispers through her locks o’ green
That be crowned by many a berry
Then as she shivers at the gust
Little berries go plunk upon her toes
Covering the floor at her feet...

Shotgun Intention
plink and plunk

like rain of a small

caliber rifle on

a metal roof

and then a large

discharge from

a barrel that

unlike a sprinkle

of rain tears

a cloud apart

with such lightning

and thunder that

it leaves little doubt

of the commitment

of its intention...

Premium Member Summer At the Lake
Blue gills, catfish, screen door, slam.
Cloth hat, fish lures, summer, ma’am.
Laughter, echo, lake plunk, jam.
Lying in the sun with my cousin Cam,
Pretending to sleep, but it is a sham.
Comfy and cosy in the warm sand,
Listening to the kids, happy I am.
Bird swoop, blue sky, summer, damn!...

Premium Member The Harlots of Spring
The harlot maples crimson tipped nails
tap, drum, strum, and plunk;
at Aprils blasted blue sky.
Raking a wind born trail
across skeletal palms
and forearmed branches,
in a come-hither dance;
reawakening the cerulean stratus
above the dense sugar maple forest.
Sap taps a tune into tin buckets;
and, so, Spring is sprung....

Premium Member I Am Not a Magician
I love it when they carry them in kicking and screaming
Plunk them down and then leave
me alone with them

I am not a candy bar
I am not a piece of gum
I am not a birthday cake
I am not a magician
Sometimes I get frustrated

Because they think I can handle it
Even if I can
is it fair that
I always have to?...

The shape had fallen a minute amount when I saw it,
Ringed it was.
The sight reminded me of a stone
Dropping into the watre,
Seen from beneith,
It was defuseing into the surroundings
With the trail it seemed to be leaving.....
......Ripples of pinks
A peeking form,
Fields blooming yellow
     awaiting the bees,
Ranged over to inside,
Self to even over....

Anyone Game
"What are you doing?"
The answer comes back "youtube"
A TABOO subject

My mind doth BOGGLE!
Internet failure pending
The switch goes KER PLUNK

5 SECOND RULE then
TROUBLE from upstairs, GUESS WHO?
Some AGGRAVATION

"Can we play a game"
SORRY am I HEARING THINGS
The MOUSE TRAP snaps shut

Despite the small RISK
As I SCRABBLE for face time
LIFE continues on...

Premium Member Being a Dragon Hoarder
Being a dragon hoarder is now work at all
I collect tidbits of aluminum foil, rolled and tall
I have boxes and bags full of things from the mall
Items also I have found in a bathroom stall

Being a dragon hoarder is what I do best.
I bring stuff home, and plunk it down in my nest.
I collect wings, feathers, animals, especially little mice.
Who grow up and reproduce, so isn’t that nice?...

Cat and Dog
Just in time for Halloween
 a big, black cheshire cat
tip toes along the tips of the fence.
A balancing act
 executed with expertise and precision
 in every cautious step.
Until
my dog, the guardian of the yard
spots and challenges the talented display.
Then
plunk, slip, plop, scatter, thrash, run.
The cat is gone
 with only the echoing bark
 of the guardian's voice
in failed pursuit....

Premium Member Dorothy and Rosco
Rosco usually dives in the ocean right away.
Today he sits on the edge of the sea with a plunk.
Dorothy usually flies into a wave head first.
She follows Rosco’s lead.
Daintily dipping in one toe.
He waits expectantly.
She knows if she plunges, he will too.
Ready to save her at a second’s notice.
He has been her protector since she was a baby.
She takes a dive, and he hits her foot with his nose....

Premium Member Grandma Wears Thongs
February 14th.
Fifty three degrees.
What? Get out your bikini.
Kick off those shoes.
It is time to break out the Koolaid.
Plunk in the ice cubes.
Use Grandma's aluminum glasses
The ones from the 50's that keep things cold.
Where is my surfboard?
My swimsuit coverup?
My suntan lotion?
My thongs?
Grandma! Giggle. Giggle. "You WEAR thongs!"
Sure do, I say proudly, holding up my flip flops.
Confusing them every time....

Slim Pickings
Went with the kids to the blueberry farm,
Everyone ready to pick.
Armed with a bucket, we wandered the rows
But somehow our luck ran out quick.

For nary a berry on nary a bush,
Except some real tiny and tart.
The kids pulled a few, they went plunk in the pail;
We were off to a not-so-great start.

The season is ending this weekend, we heard;
I guess that explains our dumb luck.
We'll settle for strawberries that, in the store,
We managed, when shopping, to pluck....

Hollyhock princess leans on a mushroom to flirt.
The mushroom is bashful, he hides a bit in the dirt.
What is her name? whispers his interested cousin McWhirt.
Not sure, says the mushroom, but she is drooling on my shirt.

She can drool on my shirt anytime McWhirt says with a wink.
She can uproot me, scrub me, and plunk me down in a sink.
I am going to give her full eye contact until I see her blink.
princess did not notice at all, she had fallen in love with a frog named Fink....
