Shotgun Intention

plink and plunk

like rain of a small

caliber rifle on

a metal roof

and then a large

discharge from

a barrel that

unlike a sprinkle

of rain tears

a cloud apart

with such lightning

and thunder that

it leaves little doubt

of the commitment

of its intention
