I Am Not a Magician

I love it when they carry them in kicking and screaming
Plunk them down and then leave 
me alone with them

I am not a candy bar
I am not a piece of gum
I am not a birthday cake
I am not a magician
Sometimes I get frustrated 

Because they think I can handle it
Even if I can 
is it fair that
I always have to?

L Milton Hankins Date: 4/8/2022 9:47:00 AM You know, Caren, I can sympathize, BUT, sometimes the classroom teacher has just had it with a kid. It happens. And, they probably don't know what to do...short of slapping the kid (which of course should never be done!), so, off they go to the counselor's office. YOU, my friend, are their lifesaver, their jobsaver, their savior.
