Plumed Serpent
above,
oozing like orange lava,
lazy clouds slowly splatter
across the sky;
below,
like a stream of bright, red lights,
traffic snakes away, as if
poised to fly....

American Eagle
Soaring sovereign, white-crowned bird,
Shanghaied silently without a word.
Strong feathers molted one-by-one.
Pinfeather plumed on bare skin.
Wet market ready.

I Dreamed a Bird-of-Paradise
I dreamed a bird-of paradise arose one starry night.
Beautifully plumed, it floated in mystical moon-light.
I drifted along with it, as delicate as fine lace,
extraordinarily content, unconstrained and graceful....

Goo-Goo For Gaga
Six plumed vamps, posed on pointe, and smiled lewdly at the judges.
Girls stumbled across the stage and collapsed into a feather heap.
Audiences went goo-goo for their camp twist on Lady Gaga.

Refrain On the 6th
My dreams - they swirl in lucent strands,
in colors born of whimsied thoughts.
In wisps, an orange memory
wafts carelessly from childhood’s brume,
toward purple echoes plumed this day.
In lucent strands, a story weaves.

Scarlet Noon
Deepest darkest reds
crimson guest in the roses
of the same rich hue.
Flowers and plumed cardinal
interact through scents and song.
Vivid green summer
showers gold on scarlet lane-
forever moments!
Bush concert at my window
making memories, redly.

December Sky
Under the rich December sky
Breath plumed in the frost filled air
The winter sky sparkled with stars
Like diamonds stitched to the curtain of night
The moon was almost full
And from that December moon
The lunar light bathed the landscape
So that light sparkled on the ice crystals
Creating a myriad of twinkling stars
To mimic their celestial cousins...

I do not know?
Requiem
Into the evening light
Falls a heart shaped cloud,
White plumed and calling
With Island eyes, sublime.
Drifting down, shielded
In oblivion, smiling,
Her translucent neck
Dissolves into depths,
The sun too weak to
Save her, she will surely
Drown into the fading
Horizon, she cannot loom.
Scents of ocean breeze
Sweeten the loss, she is gone....

Foolish Lover
You wore the dress
that I picked out
sexy black skirt
that I raved about
You came to me
as a flower in bloom
I kissed you
when you entered the room
You lifted your dress
I bled out
in my shaded bedroom
you made me shout
Stretched out next to you
I said I loved you perhaps too soon
as you plumed and plumed
I felt like a big baffoon....

We Are Levitating
flash of surreal insights
haunting and eerie dreams
geysers rushing to the surface
plumed serpents dance
we are waiting
at the crossroads of intuitions
advanced awareness
in deep meditation
we are connecting
to universal wisdom
megalithic sacred monuments
intuitive souls sacred gifts
rational mind is a faithful
servant we train systematically
we are levitating

I do not know?
The Robin
I rose this morning to the rays of the sun
Slowly i walked;i did not run.
As i pushed the patio door ajar
There was a Robin;not too far.
It's then that i heard its melancholy trill;
This my heart with joy did fill.
Smiling,flicking its nimble tail,
Over the wet and glistening shale.
Like autumn leads to winter,
And day follows night-
It is always in site;
So plumed and so bright!...

Seagulls Flying
Their wing span stretched to full extent
to catch the updraft compliment.
Still bodies caught in endless flight
Gray backs roll to sleek plumed white
Ever on they plough the ocean
Held aloft with graceful motion
Testament to His creation
Marvels of natural aviation
Bodies turn on the slightest flip
As they swoop and soar, bank and dip.
Then one by one they disappear
And suddenly the sky is clear....

Pompeii
Pompeii
Amid ashes pumice lay
Life in cinders Pompeii in disarray
Vesuvius plumed angry swell
Archeologists unearth deathly knell
Volcanic vomit ample spume
from sunlight golden to darkened gloom
Roman bathing in waters pure
Nimbus of fires blazing coiffure
In 79 AD it's eruption did occur
No time to flee , No time for prayer
For sure a wrong analogy of mine
but this 'Furnace' it froze in time
thank you...

Neighbor Is a Pirate
My neighbor is a pirate of fame
Who sailed and pillaged from Maine to Spain
I once heard his old parrot mimic
Phrases common to a pirate’s gimmick.
I saw his long broadsword and musket
Looking quite time-worn, used and rustic.
He has a plumed hat, spy glass, boot scraps,
Black eye patch, peg leg and treasure maps.
My neighbor cannot shiver me spine,
He is way too short and only nine.

The Play's the Thing
The Play’s The Thing
Every day
the same play.
The moment I rise,
the first act begins,
the same plot
all over again.
Only the actors,
only the scenery,
vary. Act after act,
no intermission,
no denouement,
it never ends.
Every night,
in the front row,
the same lady
in a plumed hat
shouts, “Author, Author!”
I smile, I bow,
what else can I do?
Finally, I pull the curtain
and turn in.
