Tempest
Across the broken howls of pride
unmatch the dawn
She will be there someday
wisdoms sweet mandolin
ran naked through the fields
Unbuttoned two as one
Pleading eyes whispers alone
Emotions stalked inside
Drunk on gypsy violins
we burn like you...

Death Number 1
I am jealous of death
its resolute presence and confident action
Its darkened cool and its infinite existence

When I pass like whispered winds in forgotten winters
death will sullenly play its monotone mandolin of time
...expecting no one to listen...

Bluegrass Music
Must have a banjo
To get that Bluegrass sound
The bass is needed
To nail the rhythm down

Fiddle plays a lead
Tingles go up your spine
Guitar keeps the beat
Or picks melody line

The Mandolin chop
Makes the Bluegrass whole
Greater than its parts
Music of solid gold...

Lucy
Call her Lucy
O'! For She once was all
Heavenly kingdom strung
On her Mandolin song

Call her Lucy
O'! For she had it all
Had she not fallen
Rising end-time eyes forlorn

O'! My poor Lucy
Fearing the last judges
Hammer,gavel,fire......
Earthly kingdoms now torn...

The Jester
Fool of jesters
jester of fools
performs for fat
spindly legged kings
who slap their sides
in glee of his merriment
as around the court
he dances in his
three cornered hat
and turned up shoes
which jingle with
tiny bells as
with gaiety he
plays his mandolin
and sings of
the indiscretions
of lords and ladies.....

Dream Thickened Honey
She bathes--
in the nighttime

in dream thickened honey.

Her mandolin cries
wrapping her chilled
chords around the moon.

Hear the clocks ticking,
hands
weightless on the surface,
as butterflies float away
to yesterday.

No effort required,
they sail on such
sweet notes
that fall with the mellow
mandolin rain....

Time Passing
Gaslight room
you had it all
the laughing and dancing
You gave me words
but no tune
How time goes by
when you're trying to enjoy yourself

Doffing your head
its the madness without a glint
The gamblers are playing a winning game
They say your love cant fit
Playing the mandolin
The only crime is being blindfolded
washed down your stale wine...

Metronome heart beats in 4/4 time while mandolin chimes in staccato voice. In the background, guitar hums and banjo sings. Bluegrass echoes across southern winds; blues and mountain music force a dance from tranquil feet; it’s a concert fit for country royalty, at the Opry. The East coast clogs and smiles. On the rolling winds, Echo strains of the southland; Gaia’s toe tapping.

Music uplift my heart
Disperse distress,down cast depart;
Vivaldi on Venetian violin
In concerto,cello and mandolin.

Music enlarge my mind
Reminece and then remind;
In Mahler's opus strong
Adagio,lieder and song.

Music to suit my every mood
In valued secluded solitude;
Satie and Pachebel
Motifs that haunt and indwell.

Music tingling my spine
As emotions re-align;
Choral and slow requiems
In pleasing dulcet diadem....

The Band
My father is the drummer
They call him MR. Brooklyn Covington
Mike does most of the vocals
And man this guy's voice is amazing
Todd gets his groove on playing bass guitar
he have you flowing
Then Jim jumps on the scene
And start rocking his mandolin
They call me a groupie
and no I'm not stalking the band
I just love them all
Because I'm their number one fan
so clear your schedule and don't be late
You don't want to miss this band their called

Premium Member Maurie Had Been Given Worst Assignments
Maurie had been given worst assignments
But most had been easier than this one
They had saddled him with two sidekicks
Cats who hissed and spat at the moon.

The moon was not in the mood for it either.
He kept asking Maurie to take his leave.
But his task was to lull the moon to sleep.
He stayed, fighting off the annoying cats.

The mandolin is amazing for a minstrel.
It gave him the oomph he needed.
He remained calm, and the moon slept.
Also, the pesky cats. Mission accomplished....
