there once was a woman named Mimi
she never would wear a bikini
	when she was asked why
	she didn’t blink an eye
said, “I’ve eaten too much linguine!”

Body Dysmorphia

Feeling like you're not enough,
Your looks or body, it's really tough.
Self conscious and to self aware,
Seeing others beauty, it's almost unfair.
And when your told you're not as you see,
You shrug it off, and just disagree.
You feel like your to short or too tall,
Your facial features, you hate them all.
Stiffing your face or never eating,
Because, with others, you think you're competing.
Accepting you're beautiful is hard to do,
Thinking that they have no clue.
When you hide it and tell no one,
Overcoming it may be too hard to be done.
Accept what is and what is not,
And let's be honest. You're actually HOT.

Walk Away

As she'd left
He'd taken her name for all the reasons and blames
In every corners of the city, to all the men
As much as
He'd no courage left
To walk on the memory lane
And look into her eyes.

bitterly cold
            anxious
            peering into the gloom
        staring motionless
I remember imagine
   many
      thoughts
        race through the mind
agitated
intrigued
        alienated isolated
nothing becomes known
   as
      bizarre conversations stun

I become curious
          intensely so
then
      dismissive
          of the oblique way
     ahead
then
     reluctantly go

Premium Member Most Self Conscious Age of All

She is uncomfortable
Thinking they are all staring at her
She can barely look up

They are twelve and thirteen
Most not noticing her at all
Too concerned about their own flaws

One thinks they are staring at his zit
Another is sure they are staring at her frizzy perm
Most self conscious age of all

Middle school dance
Critical beyond belief
Misunderstanding the beauty of this age

Look Into My Eyes

Look into my eyes
See the humanity inside
See where beauty resides
See them blue, green or brown
See them smile or frown

Look into my eyes
In my eyes the lies can’t hide
The tears glitter before they slide
My eyes narrowed to recognize
My eyes widen when terrified

Look into my eyes
Even though I lost my sight
My eyes show the imagination in my mind
I might be staring into nothingness
But my eyes see a million images

Look into my eyes
See your reflection on the pupil
See yourself from my point of view
See me blink away your doubts
See me beam a gaze of trust

Look into my eyes
They will shrunken your world view
Give you a human mirror image
They will beam an immediate truth
An intimate feedback about you

Loosing the will to live,
It’s all vicarious anyway,
There must be more to life,
Than the pretence of everyday.

Turns out you got a raw deal,
That was not there yesterday,
Bad luck meant it wasn’t to be,
Nascent beauty was taken away,

Your resulting life is one big lie,
The truth won’t help it go way,
You have to see it through for now,
Vicarious in nature, one must stay.

So why the hell are you hiding,
Thats what others want to say,
Initially got dealt a good hand,
But now must cheat to play?

If the mark of Cain comes upon you,
Remains indelibly on display,
All will recognize the humiliation,
Of deformity you carry today.

When anxious look more hideous,
Idiots laugh, at a grotesque array,
Not wanting to get mocked or pilloried,
Vicarious life, that’s the price we pay.

Can you see
Odd epiphany;
What's to be
Self-conscious story.

Just like me
Strange melancholy;
Chemistry
Beyond sanity.

Odd words free
Mad controversy;
History
In lost odyssey.

Al Ask Uh -

An Inupiat "slow-grower"
Believed he could sink no lower
When an icicle rose
On the tip of his nose
He won "Number 1 Snow Blower"

 * * * *

A cold polar bear did stutter
And folk thought he was a nutter
But God loved him a bunch
And dropped off his lunch
With buckets of peanut butter.

Caring about one's own feelings, it should not be recognized as selfish, it should be accepted as instinct and self-love

Self Conscious

Life from exceptional will
Forever flowing freely
True compassion is fear for
The unknown
Yet,
The mere apparition
Of an innermost being
Complicates'
It's very exist Nance
Yet, in conflict
With death, ye shall
Never die
Fore death is only the begining
So what is a prisoner
If so, a prisoner of mind
Less he be sentenced
Set by another
The prisoner of fate
So haunted and unsure
Whether a matter of conviction
Or-
By virtue of having just
Been convicted
Torn between love and the obvious
