From fast food Trump chooses to eat
Congestive heart failure’s his treat
We’ll wince as this slob
Grows more like the blob
With gross swollen ankles and feet

What we hear
What we say
What we remember in our way

What goes in?
What comes out?
What we show when we are in doubt

What we think
What we feel
What is fake from what is real?

What we smell
What we touch
What tells the body it has had too much?

What we swallow
What we know
What helps or stops things that might grow?

What we inhale
What we expel
What is deflected and repelled?

What is soiled?
What is clean?
What is the spectrum that is seen?

What is open?
What is closed?
What gets stopped when we let things go?

What is caught?
What is released?
What channels seal our inner peace?

What is discussed?
What is believed?
What gets through to let us breathe?

Premium Member For the Life of Me

I swore I'd turn and back away,
Resist the call, from the lurking flay.
For the life of me, I could not allay the stay!

Before me lay a morsel, a mere tit bit.
A taste I took, another, another, but could not scoff remit,
For the life of me, I could not help it!

I told myself to turn away, to quell the surge.
To resist the temptation with a denial's purge.
For the life of me, I could not resist the urge!

Danger lurked, the danger warning plain to see
Alas, the hurt to me was not meant to be.
For the life of me, I could not flee!

For the life of me, I couldn’t figure it out.
Why was my will so weak, and prone to doubt?
That my life was so worthless, such a sellout!

Premium Member Self Control

Self control, God knows, is difficult at best…
Especially when rebellious is the
 self possessed.
I've put myself in corners,
I'll be grounded till pigs have wings
I can't even tell myself what to do, it seems.

whims may become a blessing or a curse
pushing one toward certain ruin or worse
drinking from the deep well of evasion
well versed in dark practices of persuasion
fixating on dreams of what ought to be
avoiding what mirrors reality

totally free of social encumbrances
in spite of what the best assumption is
wandering through this life oblivious
hiding from anything too obvious
urge to be free of all expectation
jumped right into without hesitation

do not question need to swallow it whole
subtle art of self-induced mind control

Inviting Sadness: Don'T Do It Without Divinehelp

I
We invite sadness when bad news shows up
It is the polite thing to do
Unless you have divine help, guard up!
Yes, variety is good. Upbeat is boring good

So many bloodbaths have taken their toll:
that thinking about it brings me to tears.
And too often, has sin tainted my soul;
for me to find God in my later years.

I still see the wild animal in Man
that history confirms was always there.
Although we deny the truth when we can,
human atrocities are everywhere.

Genocide and blatant brutality
are fueled by Man's primitive urges.
And when faith imbues immorality
with religious might, chaos emerges.

Human beings supposedly have a soul:
yet we've failed to demonstrate self-control.

Heavy Going

RoseAnn Malone resolved to lose weight.
She made a list of foods to forsake.
She did well 'till week four
eating more than before.
Airlines had to bill her at the freight rate.

Premium Member Your Mama

Your mama is
Your mama said.
Your mama wears

All you have to do at my
school is say your mama,
and world war seventeen begins.

Those two words instantly
throw children into
fighting mode.

The fourth grade teacher and I
both tried to talk the children
out of this mind frame yesterday.

The mamas were waiting in the
office today to ambush us about it;
in fighting mode within fifteen minutes.
So much for "you don't have to tell your
mama's everything". Add that to cellphones
and we are talking World War Eighteen.

Teenage Predicament

Premium Member The Fruit of Self Control

God in the scriptures declares His fruits
that is to be the character of His elect
in His list of fruits there's one He lists last
but it's equally important as any of the rest

Every believer needs to exercise this
being on top of their emotions real hard
need the help of the holy spirit to dwell
residing within make sure we're on guard

Satan is always seeking us to sin
luring around kidding us complacent be
needing to put on all of God's armour
so to stand firm in God so all will see

Be continually filled with God's word
read and study the word of the Lord
so you can show a real spiritual effect
being in tune with God's divine chord

Give thanks to God for this fruit
working in you moulding His own trait
be sure to stick close in God alone
following onto reach heaven's gate

(But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control" Galatians 5: 22-23)

Awoken

Could it be possible,
all i see is an illusion?
Notice all of the confusion.
Nonetheless lies and intrusion.

I must fight them to live my own life.
I must stay sharp, like a steak knife.
There very well may never be a physical bruise-
to what importance of standards would it mean;
to win or to lose.

We are quick to demonize insanity,
however, uphold the usage of inanity;
when we know the similarity shared between us all,
is the want to be free-
can we agree?

There is insanity in us all-
the capability to quickly rise and fall.
I control the eyes of I,
to create my desired reality;
or at least try.
