“The somber sun sets to rise again with
the grandeur of sanguinity” - Poet

Sinking beauty of sadness I revel
as scarlet sunset takes away my day.
Joy of twilight time last rays unravel
in pensive painting of life in decay.

In the darkest of nights the stars shine bright,
silver dust spreads tinsel tinge on sorrow.
Rustle of dull leaves makes tune of delight,
teardrop dew sparkles in barren meadow.

In vale of woe sparkling stream of tear flows,
beauty cascades with happy memory.
If grief finds shared niche as wrecking storm blows,
sadness morphs into humane hearts’ beauty.

Despair of dark forest wraps mind’s recess,
streaks of sunlight show splendor of sadness.

Premium MemberSanguine Sunset

Slowly, there was a sanguine setting of the sun
A breathtaking vision before twilight had begun
No artist's brush could ever capture the glowing
nor the rippling waves from the wind blowing
I watched as the beauty of it enveloped me...
that moment when daylight drowned in the sea

The golden line of sanguine heart

The golden line of sanguine heart
That noble friendship sets apart,
I wonder what’s the test,
If indirect at best,
As touchstone be in a gold mart.
_______________________
Translation |29.01.2025|gold, friendship, test

Poet’s note: Sanskrit has thousands of verses of wisdom called Subhashhitam. The poet of this verse wonders on the friendship of two hearts on the same wave length. What could be a dividing line to test their closeness? These golden hearts are then compared with gold in the market, where a touchstone tests its purity. The transliteration of the Sanskrit verse follows (sandhi duly separated):

Sauhaarda svarna rekhaanaam,
uccha avacha bhidaa jushaam |
Paroksham iti kah api asti,
pareekshaa nikasha-upalah || 201||

Premium MemberSanguine Senility

Eventide drizzle,
dainty ballerina
dances with tinsels
of molten rainbow,
captured by twilight
transient,
descends with rhythm
of cosmic ballet
at the ebony edge
of the onyx night,
the squashed sordid sky
enwrapped embellished,
waits to unfurl
rain-rinsed petals
with aurora of afflatus
to embroider
with lattice of luminance
the halcyon horizon,
splendorous.

Juvenile smile,
sparkling sapphire
of innate innocence
configured intrinsic,
cascades as cheerful stream
in verdant valley
of fleeting youth
for a nostalgic while,
with ageless naïve aura
inundates ignorant
the pristine plateau,
the unsullied face
flash flooded,
waits expectant
at doorstep of destiny
hope would turn the time,
drift away
dense obscurity dust,
reveal the fossilized smile
on petrified portrait
in the crumpled canvas
of senile life,
sanguine.

Sanguine Sorrow: Tears of Crimson Pain

Peer deep into my eyes, what do you perceive? They hail me as strong, yet my heart grieves. Funny how it no longer bleeds red, Perhaps my heart, too, is weary, fed Up with heartbreaks, betrayals, and strife, Weary of the relentless fight for life.

If only perpetrators wore a sign, Perhaps then, protection would align. No pain, no tears, just a numbness remains, Yet it feels like yesterday, as fresh as stains.

No longer seek salvation, not even from self, Talking brings more agony, needles delve Deeper into wounds, not mere hurt, but death, Left bleeding, lifeless, with each passing breath.

They say I've survived, if only they knew, The shattered pieces, the hidden hue. Strength they see, if only they knew the cracks, Beneath the facade, the silent attacks.

How to staunch tears that bleed like a flood? How to halt the flow of crimson blood? How to move beyond what claimed my breath? Does time truly heal, or deepen death?

Sanguine Skies

Sanguine lies
topple the true being
errant calls beckon you
Tears in your eyes
seek fortune in the east
under cloudy skies
where hawthorns roam
There's a winding scope of reasons
song on a mossy bank
everything clear under open sky

Sanguine Screams

Black beyond frozen shores,
Stellar winds blowing spawn.
Pocked lunar lithic pores,
Barren buds blooming dawn.
Shiny crust over mossed,
A young garden’s dew.
Moldy peach luster lost,
Glow spiders hazy blue.
Spores pulsate swelling nodes,
Shrieking howls grunting sounds.
Shrooms lactate yelling toads,
Shadow wolves' hunting grounds.
Silken silvered moon beams,
Silent short sanguine screams.

In Sanguine Spirit

Of a search this self speaks
stirred up it ever seeks
to secure The Soul
in silence it screams

In stillness of one’s soul
ye shall see Him, scriptures say,
yet my senses screech
as serenity stealthily slithers out

to smell Its scent
to sense Its stance
to spot Its sight
senses slip seizing Him,
in this storm I sail
staying in sanguine spirit
to soak into Supreme.

Sanguine

I was preceding to the podium to begin my chirp,
The old man there gives out a burp
After tasting his soup with a slurp.
He asked, “Who’s that little twerp?”
For me that was a usurp.

I took a deep breathe...
Remembered of the Greek Lethe
Which made me start with seethe
I was all set to unsheathe,
Ignoring my chattering teeth.

My voice was fumbling
And I was grumbling
Thoughts were jumbling
Instead of stabling,
I was stumbling..
Eventually my dreams were crumbling....

I took control over the dire
In order to set the stage on fire
Because I was on the spire
There was only a thin wire
Between me and my choir

I crooned for the people to Admire
And my hopes to ASPIRE.

Premium MemberHer Sanguine Personality

She is popular no doubt
In the fray of every conversation
Interested in everyone’s story
Flitting around the room injecting optimism
Instilling hope
A sanguine personality with pizazz

I follow her as she work the room
Charisma on fire
Charming them like a faerie riding a monarch
Her tittering laugh grates me
She is the original Pollyanna
Giving them all a piece

She is the leader of the room
We all know.
It is as obvious
Her engaging wit
And talent for loving everyone
Keeps her energy twirling in every direction.

Exhausted watching her,
I look for a corner and sit.
Quietly unobserved,
Invisible
Which is where she finds me
To lift me up and engage me in conversation.

Her keen eye
And caring ways
Are drawn to disengagement
As a hawk is drawn
To a skirmish
Running full out toward it.
Sanguine. Nothing like it!
