In last confessions of death
As flames of crimson,
Draped their souls in lithe petals
Of a black, gold-lined lotus.
Bea was quick-witted, clever and sanguine.
Loving adventure, her escapades fine….
With energy enough for at least twenty.
Did she have admirers? Oh, yes! Plenty!
The yellow rose thorns
Clenched tightly between the hands
Prickling the fingers
