Premium Member The Greater Sin

He did not do it literally
But he killed her just the same
It started on the very night after
The day she took his name

She stuck to her religious dogma
And was chaste until the vows were said
He purchased the ring before they were ready
In his anxiety to get her in his bed

Then they found they were incompatible
When it came to the sexual deed
And his Mr. Hyde started growing inside
Due to an unfulfilled physical need

The abuse was mostly mental
With neglect and apathy sprinkled in
She became a domestic prisoner
And that’s when the dying did begin

She could not bring herself to leave him
That religious upbringing once again
Sometimes behavior inspired by a fear of God
Results in the greater sin

They ruled the overdose accidental
Depression and pain pills mixed too much
Washed down with lots of alcohol
To add the finishing touch

He did not do it literally
But he killed her just the same
It started on the very night after
The day she took his name

Insomnia - a Prelude To Lethargica

It's so hard
So cruel
This night
Will never end
Another dark world
Stretching on to
Eternity
I've been here before
Night after night after night after night
And it's never any
Easier
I wait
Forever
I'm always waiting
The creation
That follows
Is not
Enough solace
For the sleepy
State
I suffer
Without respite
Without release
Into that
World
I know awaits me
I'll never
Be free
Of this curse
And a chemical
Release
Is denied me
The strongest
Toxins
Cannot free
Me
I'll never sleep
Again
I'm trapped
Here
In the infinity
Of night
No dreams
No reflection
No purpose
As time has all
But
Frozen
To torment me
Night after night after night after night
As pale summer dark
And insensitive
Singing
Birds
Belie the true depth
Of the
Hour
And it's so hard
So cruel
And I begin to wonder
If I will ever see
The beauty of
Dreaming
Again

Embraceing Problems

JUST FOR TONIGHT,
SHUT THE WORLD OUT,
SHUT OUT ALL YOUR PROBLEMS
AND SET YOUR HEARTS’ EMOTIONS FREE

FOR TONIGHT IS YOUR NIGHT TO
ENJOY, AND TO BE YOURSELF
YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT
WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN
TO YOUR PROBLEMS, OR YOUR HEARTS’ EMOTIONS
BECAUSE THEY’VE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF

ENJOU THE BRIGHT FULL MOON
THAT’S SHINING ON YOUR
BEAUTIFUL FACE AND COUNT THE
STARS WITH ME – ONE BY ONE
SEE THEM DANSING ALONG YOUR
SWEET KIND MELODY OF FAITH AND HOPE

LET THE QUIET NIGHT EMBRACE YOUR
KINDNESS SO THAT YOU MAY HAVE
AN OPPORTUNITY TO FEEL SAVE AND ECCEPTABLE

BUT KEEP UP WITH TIME
BECAUSE IF YOU DON’T, YOUR PROBLEMS WILL,
AND YOUR HEART WILL THEN BE SHATTERED
INTO A MILLION PIECES OF NEVER ENDING PAIN

Rise

When night falls it brings rise to my smile and mood, I rush for bed; sleep is the time
where I am most alive. I smile into your eyes as I kiss your forehead then your nose
and down visiting your lips for an extended stay before once again smiling into your
eyes as I pull back. I roll you over, your back now pressed against my chest and I
continue to firmly hold your body. The closeness ignites the heat, now open hearts
in open hearth we melt; ingot moulds; we are one. One body, one mind; one smile;
one love and we at peace sleep. I am in love inside this nightly ritual and dream,
when morning arrives and your absence is once again discovered, thus triggering
the nightmares clock punch until once again night falls and brings rise.

Shenendoah River

Well I've had a sleepless night or two
My baby's gone what am I gonna do?
Just a poor mans' son and plain to see
But my lord he looked good to me

Dark-sided moon got ahold of him
Took him for a midnight swim
Took his love and it took his life
Cut him from me like a cold steel knife

The Shenendoah waters, they roll so cold
And the sun burns down like a gamblers' gold
But the demon depths never made a sound
The night they took my baby down

Shenendoah River's beautiful to see
But the heartless river took him from me
Now my baby's gone what am I gonna do?
Shenendoah cut my heart in two

Night Bird

Did you hear the night bird call
as Summer tumbled into Fall
and leaves piled up against the wall,
it's then you miss her most of all.

Did you hear the night bird sing
as Winter tumbled into Spring
though flowers bloom, no joy they bring,
her absence colors everything.

Did you hear the night bird cry
as endless seasons tumbled by,
unanswered still, the reason why
she left you here alone to die.

Did you hear the night bird's song
as time forever tumbled on,
memories, the grief prolong,
without her everything is wrong.

Sorrowful Night

Loss from my heart, an old sorrow will foretell.
A mistake I made, one night to which love set sail.
My first sweet love, gave me my hearts desire.
However, it ended such a romance, trapped in fire.
One night of disgrace, and a change of the face,
Sent urges of discomfort, from leather to lace,
Jealousy of her beauty, she placed upon me.
Shattered thoughts of mine, graced upon she.
Rapture night of misgivings, played out on both.
Tore apart our union and destroyed our oath.
Time never forgotten, though now a secret kept.
Our future to be agonized, with tears we wept.
Forever more and beyond, I will carry the scars.
Our secret stored forever, buried up in the stars.

Theme … an old sorrow…

Shell Shock

He tries to sleep, but it won't come
He can't get it out of his head
Fifteen men, under his command
For he's the reason they're dead

He gave the order to advance
And they did what they were told
He knew the odds were against them
Perhaps he was being too bold

He sees their faces as the night wears on
He can't stand to close his eyes
For everytime he tries to sleep
He watches as another one dies

The nightmares haunt him night after night
Why wasn't he the one to die?
They gave their life on foreign soil
And couldn't tell their families goodbye

He'll live with this, for the rest of his life
He has only himself to blame
He'll honor them for as long as he lives
And never forget their names

Premium Member Angel Or Demon

Angel or Demon
What does he appear to be
He meets them, takes them
With no pity

He trawls the streets
Bar to bar
His deed is done
Emotional scars

The morning after
As they pick up the pieces
His victims in trauma
As the previous night releases

These vulnerable ladies
Of the night they be
In their liberty they work
But are they really free

11:11

I stare at the clock every night just to make that wish.
You know the one at 11:11, just to make a wish.
I waste my wish on things I hope will come true.
They probably won’t but I don’t think it hurts to try.
So if you want to know the secret to make my wish come true,
Listen real closely, every night I wish for you.

Teardrops

Teardrops falling from my eyes
Falling up into the sky
Were dreams float up broken and dry
Falling up into the sky
To a place were hopes forgotten lay
Floating up night and day
Hands reach up people say
Teardrops fall from skies of gray
At night dreams float to stars above
Shining bright for all to love
Sparkling and shining till clouds they hug
Smothering the peoples love
Teardrops falling from my eyes
Falling up into the sky
With broken hopes and dreams they lie

Night To Day

Tiredly I sit
slowly life creeps away
flowing from my grasp
as night slips to day.

Hard to keep my eyes open,
just want to go to sleep
so I can get away;
angels begin to weep.

There goes another child
slowly slipping away,
lying on the bathroom tile
as night slips to day.

Mind begins to wonder
through my weak existence
all the things I've done;
such a weak resistance.

I live my life condemned
in silent exile
wishing to be loved
just to see him smile.

Falling faster down
soul ready to run away
angels grasp my hands
as night slips to day.

Looking down from heaven
as the sun rises upon the day
My body is still lying there
where the dragon slay.

Mary Land

Though I only knew you for the moment
forever more will you dwell with me
A love as true as the ocean’s blue
can be found in you so free
Do not take offense for crimes such as these
for I barely knew your name
But forever more shall I speak of the
when I think of that night back in Mary land
It was a fonder time then these
That I long for I do confess
what was once the loveliest of hearts
is now a shriveled wretch
So good bye I shall look for the no more
for no more can I with stand
The thought I lost what was once so dear to me
back on that night in Mary land

The Children of the Streets

Night fall,
The moon in the heavens full,
A mist has taken the sky,
The air is still and cool.
.
   The night is chilled,
Haunting thrills,
From the depths of hell,
Evilness spills.
.
   The haunting of Halloween,
The beast released,
Stalking their prey,
The children of the streets.
.
   Around every corner,
Hiding in the shadows of the alley ways,
The creatures of the world,
Are gathering today.
.
   Coming with their needles,
Pins, and fills,
Of acid laced candies,
And cyanide pills.
.
   A nightmare of hell,
All Tricks no treats,
The world’s waste tonight stalk,
The children of the streets.

Reasons

Reasons I can’t let you go or face the night alone.
My inter child you have been left alone, to long without a face to call your own.
You face the night alone in a pasted you can’t call your own. You face the night alone in a pasted you can’t stand of live with anymore.
Reasons for your past you want to call your own but they are inside your mind. For reasons that are unknown.
You want to call it your own because you have faced to many nights alone.
With fear in the dark for you can’t see your lost and for reasons that ant your own.
People hurt you leaving you alone for reasons that no one
know.
My inter child you are not alone but have someone that care for you outside the darkness, out of the rain of your tears.
Which is me and God we will hold you, as the tears fall and heal you broke heart inside.
