Shenendoah River

Well I've had a sleepless night or two
My baby's gone what am I gonna do?
Just a poor mans' son and plain to see
But my lord he looked good to me

Dark-sided moon got ahold of him
Took him for a midnight swim
Took his love and it took his life
Cut him from me like a cold steel knife

The Shenendoah waters, they roll so cold
And the sun burns down like a gamblers' gold
But the demon depths never made a sound
The night they took my baby down

Shenendoah River's beautiful to see
But the heartless river took him from me
Now my baby's gone what am I gonna do?
Shenendoah cut my heart in two

LIke Sara said, I hope this was just in fun and not a true story! I really enjoyed it. It was kind of like a ballad. LUv, Andrea

Your poems have a musical essence. I can take a guitar and roll with it.
