Shell Shock
He tries to sleep, but it won't come
He can't get it out of his head
Fifteen men, under his command
For he's the reason they're dead
He gave the order to advance
And they did what they were told
He knew the odds were against them
Perhaps he was being too bold
He sees their faces as the night wears on
He can't stand to close his eyes
For everytime he tries to sleep
He watches as another one dies
The nightmares haunt him night after night
Why wasn't he the one to die?
They gave their life on foreign soil
And couldn't tell their families goodbye
He'll live with this, for the rest of his life
He has only himself to blame
He'll honor them for as long as he lives
And never forget their names
