words that roll off an evil tongue

Premium Member Ode to Karma

High on cat nip
you are a grey and white swirl
of tangled long hair
chasing your tail
jumping playfully onto the kitchen rug
for a magic carpet ride
I spin you non-stop
till you roll off
paw to knee
begging for more

Premium Member Beach Cleanse

The beach beckons to me
I arrive at the beach, my soul is clouded
I take a deep breath, as my bare feet are wet
Waves wash over me as I breathe in the salty air
Tiny droplets of stress roll off me like sand crystals
I am now cleansed and my soul has cleared

Swoosh, Click, Rolling

Swoosh, click, rolling
Like the sound of a pinball machine
Or it’s 2010 and we’re bowling
The table is velvety green

Tight denim creaks as your back dips
Rigid and diligent spine
Roll off my tongue and drip from my lips
Hot words which reveal that I pine

Swoosh, click, rolling
I preen and I swoon at your praise
The look that we’re given is knowing
I wonder who knows in this place

Who knows, when we laugh, that it’s different
Who knows that look in your eye
A smile so sly it’s not innocent
A smile that begs to be mine

Swoosh, click, rolling
Come, baby, get me a drink
We’re tipsy, our faces are glowing
The syrup in my words is thick

Swoosh, click, rolling
I thrive when it’s easy to flirt
Adoring the bear that I’m poking
I pray that we don’t wind up hurt

Premium Member Rhythms of Romance

The tides roll off and on the land.
As ocean touches silken sand,
we two go walking hand in hand.
As if in sync, the palm trees
are swaying in a warm breeze

Another time when sun drops low,
where cotton grows - to fields we go.
In wind it looks like summer snow
whose drifting down makes no sound.
We watch it, and our hearts pound.

A passion fills my heart for you.
We leave the car; we’re dancing to
“our song.” It moves us through and through.
As cotton snow wafts – soundless,
the spell I’m in feels boundless.

Another time; another place.
We sit beside our home’s fireplace.
You read a sonnet. Lilting grace
keeps my beating heart in time
with its rhythm and the sweetest rhyme.

We hear upon our window pane
the cadence of a heavy rain,
but we embrace the heat’s domain.
Where crackling flames are dancing,
we two will be romancing.

I wonder as at night we’ve slept
and as in dreams that we have dreamt,
has our own breath still rhythm kept?

Blue

Its the kind of cold
Where we draw hearts on windows
And see the evidence of our breathing
We know we're alive because
We feel everything
The air pinches our skin
"Wake up and don't go"
But as the candles slowly dimmed their light
and we drank the last bit of the Merlot
Our cheeks went flush
Saw the blood rush in
Like a tidal wave
Too late to save
So I hide in plain sight
And I cover my face
You pull my arms down;
Tell me I belong in this place
Its the kind of air that pumps
straight into your lungs
Breathing life into words
that roll off smooth tongues
It's the kind of night
the light scatters through
Convince me to stay
I'll turn everything blue

Mindstorms

As i sit and watch the storm,
my mind racing with thoughts and fear,
dark clouds gather overhead.
Darkness only broken by lightning
slashing across the sky,
I sit cowering in my chair,
fear taking hold of my whole body as it starts to rain.
As I watch the rain float gracefully to the ground.
Everything starts to make sense.
The lightning now seems to dance together as it lights up the sky,
the thunder is now a soothing roll.
my fear gradually fading,
i hold my hand out into the rain.
I watch the raindrops fall,
they don’t seem scared,
their whole life they are alone.
They land on my outstretched hand, making their own paths across it,
finding each other,
their whole life destined to be together,
two souls now intertwining,
two hearts beat as one as they roll off together across my palm,
suddenly i don’t seem so scared,
as i sit and watch the storm.

Written With Desire

Mothered inspiration birthed from the seed of my soul
send my mind in to a frenzy with racing thoughts hard to gather and control
Words roll off my tongue with provocative pronunciation
climaxed by the inflection of each insertion of punctuation
ejaculated thoughts wrestled into pleasure provoking position are gone over back and forth and back and forth until the work is at a its greatest peak and ready for submission
New sensations flourish as visual aspects of the write begin to grow
the girth and length of your creation are now taking shape and beginning to show
fingers gripping pens
Pens gliding over paper
Paper once plain white showing the stain from its ink filled raper
A master piece of your own perfection
each pen stoke bringing it closer to desire
pace is quickening now finished with sparks of blazing fire
Just another completed writting but written with such a hunger
It was meant to be innocent but may not be subtable for the younger

Premium Member An Amazing Day To Live

Roll off. Roll off this earth.
Find rolling off earth is really rebirth.

Spinning time; earth time leads to rebirth.

New spinning more new is a gift
just for you.

Spinning here and now
perhaps nothing is left.

Roll off. Roll off this earth.
Spinning time;rebirth.

Knowing time,earth,birth,gift.
Just for you.

Centuries and quarter-centuries matter not
when you are forever alive.

Roll off. Roll off. Rebirth.
Happy Easter, 2025!

Some things cannot be changed.
However, you need not react;
It is nonsensical to do so.
Keep your focus on the things you can change
And let the things that you cannot change go.
Take time to let them roll off your back
And stay peaceful.

Getting injured cannot be helped with cries or screams
And requires the positivity of focusing on rehabilitation.

Naturally, there are many more situations when all you can do is
Accept them with grace and resilience because
“It cannot be helped.”

Shikata Ga Nai.

Premium Member The person that I want to be

I want to be myself again
happy-go-lucky
the always smiling
always positive person
who let things roll off her shoulders
who didn't think of negativity
but always seen the positive
In everybody she met
I want to learn how to trust again
without people taking advantage
and being the one hurt
I want to enjoy life enjoy
the time I have left
with my kids
watching them grow and graduate
I want to think for myself
instead of people telling me
what I should or shouldn't do
I want my Independence back
my freedom
I want to be myself again

HER

Poetic words that roll off the tongue
that is what she was all about
Every early morning before the crack of dawn,
her soft boiled mind searched,
filling in ideas
filling in,
THE POEM
                   that would flower in the light of day;
She swam in the silence of her bedroom
searching for words that would light
the emptiness she felt inside.
filling it she felt
filling it she knew
that writing poetry was the only thing to do,
when her soul went, all askew...

Remember Me

Will you remember me
Have I touched your heart in anyway
Did I leave a lasting impression
On any given day
Did I make you smile
Did I lend a helping hand
When you needed comforting
Was I there to understand
Did I come when ere’ you called me
No matter what the time
Did I reach out and hold onto you
When your hill was hard to climb
Were the words left unspoken
Or did they roll off of my tongue
Did I tell you that I loved you
Or was the melody unsung
I hope that I have helped you
And left a memory
Something you can cling to
As you remember me
