Like the Heavens Bursting Into Tears

we lie on our backs
in the snow and count the flakes
falling from the sky
some landing on our eyelids
melt and roll off as tear drops

This House Use To Be a Home

Memories now pouring on the floor
from the ceiling with no one to
conceive it. Sounds of laughter
roll off the wall. Echoes
bellow; reminisce
back from when this
house use to
be a
home.

Premium Member Ode to Karma

High on cat nip
you are a grey and white swirl
of tangled long hair
chasing your tail
jumping playfully onto the kitchen rug
for a magic carpet ride
I spin you non-stop
till you roll off
paw to knee
begging for more

Premium Member Stupid Bird

Hoodwink is a complex word
It doesn't roll off the tongue
Could it be some sort of bird
Who winked instead of sung

Could that bird have hooded eyes
So it could hardly see
That would make it hoodwink itself
Instead of you or me

Premium Member Rain

Roars of thunder echo
 Restless clouds colored grey
 Release liquid treasure
 Raindrops roll off rooftops
 Rippling in small puddles
 Raising water levels
 Recipe for flooding

Premium Member October

oak trees twinkle with red and brown elves
in the form of leaves, sparkling and pretty
Pumpkins roll off the vine, all fat, some round
The corn is in various states of anguish
October sees a haze above the field
So much activity under the floating clouds

Premium Member Beach Cleanse

The beach beckons to me
I arrive at the beach, my soul is clouded
I take a deep breath, as my bare feet are wet
Waves wash over me as I breathe in the salty air
Tiny droplets of stress roll off me like sand crystals
I am now cleansed and my soul has cleared

My Life

While voices surround me ringing out
Life like a tape recorder on fast-forward
I take a breath, try to see straight
I let it all go, roll off me
Like rain on a windshield without wipers
Voices start to fade
The pounding silences
Rain subsides
I can live again
My life

Chorus

The flop and flurry
of woozy wings
tromps over hedgerows.
Claws scrabble
feathers flounce.

Here a rowdy cackle
in a coddled coo,
there a hullabaloo
in a ruffled flutter.
Birdsongs pumps up,
balloon into chattering tunes.

Another teaming tussle,
another musical lurch
as sleepy birds
roll off
their nocturnal perch.

Before Coffee Poem

Birds chirp by jarfuls
in twilight dawn.

The sun could stand correction
in the hesitation of fulfillment.

The planets & stars roll off
the table of sky, plop
in the puddle of lakes serene
as maniacs in straight jackets.

The wind mumbles
it isn’t so. The unbend poplars
don’t care,
and children
aren’t children anymore.

Pleasure of Words

How curious it is a simple word
Chimes a memory with one syllable heard

Glorious pairings smoothly roll off the tongue
Tease the lips, oh, air from lungs

Notes of a sentence play a true melody
Chords together, a balanced harmony

Limitless expressions for my soul to capture
The sheer pleasure to pronounce : Euphoria, Bliss, and Rapture

Book of Verse No: 20 -Said the Rains

Said the rains
like tear drops
I come roll off the leaves
fresh thirst quencher
these the tears of blessing from above
trying to tell something
but humans are unwilling to listen
so how can you understand these riddles
sent to encourage you to become conscious
of every drop of good
falling without a price

Why My Mouth Is Filled With Poison

Your sour words cut into me
Sweetly
As they roll off the tip of your snake tongue
They dance down my rough back
I caress your scales softly-gently
And though I know its deadly,
I watch your fangs sink into me deeper and deeper
Until I’m filled with your poison
Now paralyzed and unable to move
I know, that none of this is true.

When I See You

When I see you
My mind turns blank
The words escape
From their rightful place
I begin to freeze
As words of nonsense roll off my tongue.
Gibberish, they are.
You think of me as a fool
Then turn to leave.
Not even the words
"I love you"
Could change our relationship now.
You think of me as crazy.
Stupid.
Ignorant.
I can never manage
To muster a word
When I see you.

Bed

Return to the nest and dream of grand scenarios
Exist in conjured moments where we can be closer or further divided
Anything but this middle ground latency
A purgatory of judgement
You cut off all future plans
Severed aspersions roll off the block
And stop at my feet
Look up at me with wild uncertainty
Kick it back to the nest and dream of grand scenarios

Discombobulated

so here i am again trying to make sense of it all

easy come easy go tired of just letting go

my mind races i'm completly sucked into another world

trying to let it all roll off my shoulders

the puddle underneath is getting deeper soon i will drown

not here nor there in a fog trying to escape my inner thoughts

i cannot save them i can barely save myserlf

Touches of Warmth

gossamer is the breath
falling in heated touches
this first monday morning
of autumn's calling

sunrise tipped trees
smile back at the horizon
a reflection of dawn

translucid drops
roll off the curls
of leaves yearning
to quench their thirst

no rain comes
from cloudless skies
just the cries of hawks
as they cincture above
appreciating the warmth
sheathed in this day

Rock Harden Heart

Thought in vain rests on rock
Deep thought enters the heart
Rock is to heavy for the soul
It crushes deep thought

Those who live in a rock house
Should not though glass
Eventually cutting deep into a soul
Emptying the love of a heart

A rock will never warm without fire
Tears of a heart will only roll off
Place this rock among the pebbles
Lift your soul above it and walk on

Quality Time

One conversation melts into another, as days go pass
warm breezes of life roll off your tongue
by our openness to understand
I'm thrust into heaven on the caramel touch of you
our desire to explore
your soft velvet voice...
our willingness to expose, and
your cinnamon smile...
our ability to accept the experience
your beautiful brown eyes
your mesmerizing words...
we entrust to each other

Sophie Again

A furry face that greets me in the morning
laying next to my face upon my flattened pillow

she snuggles closer upon my eyes cracking open to the day
while her tail switches back and forth like the wiper blades on our car

"take me for a walk NOW, Mom," her little furry body and grunts say to me
and as I stretch
so does she in her down dog position as we both roll off the bed and onto
our feet....

Fighting An Idea

Mind is burdened, thoughts are deep.

Grabbing thin air, letting go of concrete.

Ideas are fought with fists and blades.

Something tangible fades away.

Words of venom roll off the tounge.

Using spite and hate for wars won.

Letting go of a beautiful history.

All that is won is a shallow victory.

After thought: Love pours eternally down a drain, drenching those who do not
want to be saved.

Premium Member Sharp As a Marble

With a mind sharp as a marble
Words roll off my tongue as garble.
My clean shaved head is like a globe
Serpentine tattooed, lobe to lobe
With yellow, brown and strings of blue
Of understated pastel hues
Waxed smoother than a scratched eight-ball
Like a brain coral, all in all.
What is outside is not within
Sharp as a marble crown to chin.

Love Is Love

I shall keep this nice and sweet
and not waste your time with my words.
Love is Love,
and Love cannot be love without love.
I love you, so why not love me?
I ask you one simple question,
Do you love me, like I love the songs of poetry
that roll off your bittersweet tongue?
Sorry to be a bother with this,
but Love is love
without love, you cannot be in love.
I love you, do you love me?

Think about what I said, and have a good day.

People Are Not Poetry

People are not poetry.
They do not rhyme and flow as the words printed on a book do.
We do not cut off and start with a line, that eventually draws up perfectly to the next. There are no series' of us. We live, then die. We all do not think the same, feel the same or perform the same. We clash, we bond and we clash again. We don't think with perfect rhythms. Our words do not roll off our tongues as easily as poetry, we cannot define our feelings.

Roll off. Roll off this earth.
Find rolling off earth is really rebirth.

Spinning time; earth time leads to rebirth.

New spinning more new is a gift
just for you.

Spinning here and now
perhaps nothing is left.

Roll off. Roll off this earth.
Spinning time;rebirth.

Knowing time,earth,birth,gift.
Just for you.

Centuries and quarter-centuries matter not
when you are forever alive.

Roll off. Roll off. Rebirth.
