Renee Descartes 1596-1650

'Cogito, ergo sum,' René wrote
I doubt the following is what he had in mind
(I think, therefore I am) take note...
if you think you're thirsty
in need of a drink
and find yourself in a bar
then you probably are
or if you think you're dirty
need a bath really stink
and no one's around you
then perhaps you truly do
and if you think you're crazy
in need of a shrink
no ands ifs or buts
you definitely are quite nuts

POEM TO RENEE : MASTER HEALER

POEM TO RENEE, MASTER HEALER

Perfectly proportioned Greek goddess
except her philosophies were
somewhat eastern
or eternal

Gold locks alight
magical medicine woman
aflame with Sakara heat
feeds us walnuts
wrapped in dates

Blond lashes thick as a
witches broom
crown holding
vine veins entwined
Serpent spirited
she blows crimson notes
into our stretched out
poignant palms

Dissolve untenable
unfathomable fears !
dissipate sorrows of souls…
silver wing tips of nightingales
come, come, pierce skin
fly far with Masters and
angels into Olympus
of open oracles

Remember Power, balance
peace, ChristLight
Mother Mary, ease

Michael and Chamuel
clapped clanging away
sores sliced ignorance
opened organs
spun wheels

Too urgent, so urgent
forgetting Love is
patient

I did not know
her time was
very near
I am mourning
My Beloved Master

Light, Bright,
               Your Sight, .... I Say!

Starlight Branches Brighten Up, Might's Wake!

Just Soon In Praise, Renee, .... With All The Words That We Say!

This Song's A Lead To Finish, ..... Brown, Has, ... Made!

Renee

shall i love a maiden fair

whose favor i'll not see

or will she grant within her heart

a special place for me

i take no lead in this affair

but follow her desires

quiet patience tames my beating heart

engulfed in passioned fire

love, reciprocated love

it cries from deep inside

not guaranteed for one like me

brings tears i cannot hide

she is worth the chance i take

i feel she is the one

with arms outstretched my offered heart

for her to take and own

she and time shall both decide

the future of our lives

be separate or two as one

bears fear and hope to thrive

must this love be muted as

a silent castaway

until the time when she'll confess

her love for me one day

i can only hope and dream

until that day is come

i pray the Lord to give me strength

when all is said and done

Who would have thought?
This early morning would unearth raw gem
I would see history, mystery, and strength
An Ebony statuette so adorned,
The Queen of Sheba would seem nude,
But you were captured in simplicity,
Conservative for sure.

Who would have thought?
My adventure would stretch, and
Swell beyond the beach, beyond the hills -
You showed my curious hurting self, flowers, not arrows.

Who would have thought?
I'd have you accompanying me
My mind in revere, looking
Stretched beyond darkness I'd once seen
The weight of earthy raw gems, as
Lovely as eager hands of worth.

Chez Renee First Rose

Amid burgeoning buds on many rose bushes,
Bridal Pink floribunda just filled early season blooming wishes.

On wide low bush, tiny shell pink buds spiral open,
A blanket of blooms soon rewarding my devotion.

Edges pale and centers darken as they age,
Compelling view at any stage.

Three inch blooms of thirty petals blushing,
This 1967 rose resurges, all season flushing.

With a fragrance sweet, spicy and light,
Truly an early season delight.

Pale pink bearded iris vie for attention too
A living room window spray in full view.

Protected by overhang from weather strain,
They’ll soon pass while sturdy roses reign.

My Angel Renee

Each night when I go to bed
I think of all the words I've said
And ponder on the things I've done
How your love I had once won

Many tears I've made you shed
Too many sleepless nights in your bed
When all along I owned the key
To keep your love for only me

Now its me that sheds the tears
My life now full of empty fears
You say uncertainty prevailing
Caught up in all my mistakes and failings

My love for you has never faded
Lack of commitment, your feelings jaded
Baby steps, I moved too slow
I did that because I love you so

I wanted for us the best of life,
Messy details, cleaned before you became my wife
Now lost you are, trying to find you way
My mind consumed, what to do, what to say

Now is the time to use our voice
Together or separated, its your choice
I am beside you, can you see
You are the only one for me

The love we shared, captured all my desires
Burned hotter than the devils fires
So my Angel we both must try
To grow our love, not let it die.

Erika Renee, my little child,
you are growing too fast,
seems like yesterday I held
you in my arms, as I rocked
you to sleep.

I remember when you called
me papa in such a cute little way
and the enchanting smile you
gave me and still do.

I remember cute little things
you used to say, like when
I would say, let's go get
some fast food to eat,
you said, why not some
slow food.

I remember when you pretend
to be a doctor, then you
would say, oh, oh, I see some
cat hair.

I remember the day
you were born and
the first time I held you,
how proud I was to
be your grandfather.

Yes Erika Renee,
you are growing up
way too fast, one
thing is certain, I'm
still proud of you.

Loving you more
each day my
little sweet granddaughter,
please don't ever
      change.

Desire's Wings (Renee)

With a smile
that stabs at your heart
this elegant starling
floats on the breeze,
flitting here and there
warming the souls
of those
   that she graces
with her presence.

Watching her
chew on her lip
pulls at my soul
to know
    what's on her mind,
but I'll sit back
   and enjoy
        this angelic sight
while I gnaw on my pen.
