Desire's Wings (Renee)

With a smile
that stabs at your heart
this elegant starling
floats on the breeze,
flitting here and there
warming the souls
of those
   that she graces
with her presence.

Watching her
chew on her lip
pulls at my soul
to know
    what's on her mind,
but I'll sit back
   and enjoy
        this angelic sight
while I gnaw on my pen.
