                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope had gray hair and looked downcast,
Amid grieving and fears, hope is obscene.
At night, just a rocket and fanal were seen,
Life disappears into shrouds, leading to a blast.
Did the hurling and horrible air have a heart?
A single eye read the unformed wonder or boom.
He was the one who proved the current loom,
The quiddity draws the skies and earth apart.
Lord, my petition and argument are both fair,
What bears devils successful and me a failure?
Revolve their decay if the pair were my jailers,
Chervil-lined banks and curbs quiver with new air.
My sapient wairua creates an Elixir riddle ban,
Hoarding and ignoring nature led to a span.
Written: June 5th, 2024, For Jay Narain Contest
                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Your smile awestruck me every morning,
Truly ambrosian and quiddity display style.
Your ariose image is rife in my dreams,
As optimism rises, I wake up with beams.

You could be the one, I didn't love enough,
There was a juncture in, I treated you rough.
Girl, if I beshrew you feel odious, I was blind,
If I crestfallen you, you're often on my mind.

You induce me to dare my worries and fears,
I will support you in your anguish and tears.
All I sense for you is beyond what I may show,
You are precious to me; I wish that you know.

I didn't descry you those lonesome times,
It is a delight to have you; you are sublime.
My thoughts of you hampered my tries to rest,
The warmth of your kindness swells my chest.

Whatever transpires, I will be devout to you,
My briny goal is always you, and I will pursue.
Allow me to win your quintessence one final time,
I often relate to you; I've never had time to dime.

with serendipitous moans—ocean lulls
                  It's russet embers
ignite her soul's             quilled longings

she flies to bloomy sky-scape
           last sigh        of waning twilight

chirpy mirth—katydid sounds
                            waves of
                                   soft silk canzone

to whispering crimson
                         of ephemeral serenade

waves of arid shadows— ebb in
blurring haze            of lingering longing

besotted in spumy                scatters sighing

In epicede of hushed Elysian quiddity
            quixotic susurrus—shorebirds' sapidity

horizon in cinereous ululation of Peacocks
             rainbows and sylphlike threnody

my heart too, mirths...         waiting
for you to return to me—in spring

renascent wings                  wings of crimson
              gold and plums of purples!

Premium MemberRiddled And Empty Handed

The enthusiastic logastellus,
empty handed yet so scripturient;
Try to write it feels incoherent,
without words there is no audience;

Plagued with a poor vocabulary,
madness fills an overactive mind;
First line leaves that soul unsatisfied,
not able to capture a writer’s quiddity;

You can sit warm yourself by the fire
believing the Muse comes on command;
When will raw emotion understand
it takes tools to pen what you desire;

Go out communicate in person
you’ll pick up a new line every time;
No longer with a struggle to rhyme,
No longer riddled with guiltroversion.

Premium MemberOur Differences

Like pieces of a puzzle,
Our differences fit together,
In this grand mosaic called life.

Each shape unique, Each color vibrant,
A bourgeoisie woven with threads of diversity.

The edges may not align,
But they interlock perfectly,
Creating a pulchritudinous whole.

Some pieces jagged, Others smooth, refined
Each with its own story to tell. The puzzle comes alive,

As we encompass In symbiosis and unity.
 it is in our anomalousness we find puissance and palmy, In this kaleidoscope of actuality

Panegyric celebrating our multifariousness,
For they are the quiddity of humanity,
Guiding us on an extraordinary junket

Our heterogeneousness like puzzle pieces,
Complete the picture of life,
A masterpiece in its own right.

Premium MemberHeld Together

Held together by hairspray and prayers.
Knowing the quiddity could not be changed.
Clothes could not zhuzh it nor putting on airs.
As long as the attitude remained deranged.

Attitudes make a person who they are.
Just a nip here and a tuck there
Life could have a different repertoire.
An awesome attitude equals a billionaire.

Premium MemberShuttered Mirror of Life

Our views and sorrows are mirrored in life.
Each jagged shard epitomizes some strife.
Our wounds, sufferings, and personality,
It will include one's beliefs and morality.

Are we netting insight or primarily existing?
Veins would shiver with shattered feelings.
The sharp edges puncture into the intact body.
A wrecked heart squall for plenty and vitality.

Inside the proper limits of a selfish quiddity.
Contemplations from one's own perspective.
Moving good faith grips to a broke history.
Surprising yet rather fiery and lively festive.

In fear of what I can view, I won't stare in the mirror.
My fierce peek and jagged shards scold a sinner.

Quiddity- the Basic Nature Or Quality of Something That Makes It Different From Other Things

I knew you would leave anyway
When trust is broken, sorry means nothing
You are a chapter in my book I have to put away

I sit and watch our love decay
I knew you were bluffing
I knew you would leave anyway

I should have known right away
I hated who you were becoming
You are a chapter in my book I have to put away

No one saw the fighting everyday
They only viewed the hugging
I knew you would leave anyway

You put me on display
I was open for judging
You are a chapter in my book I have to put away

It feels like only yesterday
Oh my I miss your loving
I knew you would leave anyway
You are a chapter in my book I have to put away

Premium MemberDoomed To Vanish

What would deem biding our critical concern?
What tolerably deep association would we learn?
Is it fair to firmly assert we utterly understand?
What has loomed and shielded stiff mend?

Do we promptly make every second count?
Is it sprung to say we are doomed to idly die to flout?
Heed the placid quiddity we are endeavoring.
It is drifting us by, oblivious of our lone value levering.

Is it genuine that these requests typically exist?
Because of the way that nobody can be sure?
They overshadow you like a goliath can desist.
It's unsatisfactory what the disposals efficiently are.

The vista is sorrowful, and the future looks bleak.
We expect a required course yet lack the will to seek.

Weirdly Wired

(A mental state of the heart)

A teeming onslaught of ice cold musings
flood the mind burst its seams
Cascading down in torrents
gushing into a heart aflame
in lava hot emotions
Thoughts heavy laced with feelings
whirlpool this ticker
with reckless abandon
mounting pressure cues in a short circuit
Checked all the wires
See its not miswired
Does seem weirdly wired
Morphed into an interface
Its quiddity to strandle the fence
heavily expectant with equity
It repels bias,in its midst tolerance reigns
Eventually the middle is where truth abounds

Oyster

the salt sweats into the flung spray
  the stirred spume of the waters
   twining the molecules of the morning's
     gaze
to windward it lazily plays
  like the woman's electric touch
   the dawn touching the enlivening
    day

the oxygens come evident through the languidly, scented
  haze

sitting curled atop the dabbled cover, sipping coffee

with rhythmic grace she bends, sending
  skin and fascination within her stretching, seeming
   form
in deep quiddity and fire

like the Gulf's thick air, she fills my dry lungs
like the salt she sends to my eyes

to sights delicious in the tides of the night
spent, the sensed yen
spooned loose on salted
meat

like water that
pulls across bone white
sand

rolling, turning, roping into
warm, green depths
again

steps lightened with release
 the morning sweet in its suspension of
  abiding
   unease

long limbs settled fine. rubbers and lipstick lines
  indulge and dine on the purer pleasures
   of the tree

the woman, the salt, the blending skin, and the
  sea.

Poetic Ache

As liquid evaporating,
my reflection vanishes,
dust of bone drifts,

And the quiddity of my
soul collapses while it waits,
hoping for a return,

like ships in the open sea,
lingering for
a placid voyage,

I continue
in the same wave,
like branches I waggle
vigorously in my aches,

Trying to elude the reason,
escaping from my own breath,
and as I see the leaves of trees
falling,

Each of them feel my pain,
and I travel in my head to all
of these places without
taking a step,

I dream with my eyes wide open,
gazing at a fantasy frame,
for my life becomes poetic
by the endlessness of my constant aches.
