You're not doing a stellar job
distracting me with idle chatter.
Life is not something to be ignored
and swept under a mat.
I've been living in limbo
no matter how you sugarcoat it.
Life is short and every beat matters.
Every day is another notch in the cog of time fleeting.
Life is a race to the finish line,
an obstacle course of sorts.
Ignoring the elephant in the room is
an embarassing act of cowardice.
Sometimes saying something-anything
is better than the insult of shameless pussyfooting.

How many ways can we write about love
Without words we've already used
Could invent some new ones but most of you people
Would be lost and really confused
So we stick with same old time honoured phrases
Safe that our message gets through
Sure like to shock you with some uppity words
Invent a real new word or two
Something like, “I love you profusely”
Nah, that doesn't do it for me
How about, “love you like a kick in the face”
To some it means, “I love thee!”
Maybe too violent for the average filly
Perhaps, “I love you like chocolate pudding”
Don't be shy, but no naughty stuff
And refrain from pussyfooting
So here's what I suggest the new word should be
Holypoopadoodlezissbamboo
“Kinda long!” I can hear you guys mumbling
So maybe just the old “I love you!”
Hell Cat Queen
Oh, Mayling Lou dearest, my heart’s elation
On Halloween you’ll be a possessed abomination
Neither purr nor mew
pussyfooting Boo!
You are tonight’s sweet spooky sensation!
‘Tis you I love kitty, dark Mayling Lou
Your surreptitious sly purrs make a goddess of you
But come Halloween
You’re my hell cat queen
Your love and friendship I both cherish and rue
by Robert Gorelick
I love you too, but tonight is the night
I sit on a broomstick, holding on tight
Flying behind a witch
To satisfy an itch
Don’t wait up, hell cat’s gonna be alright
by Beryl Edmunds
She is a chubby dancer, but the toms don’t mind.
She has such pussyfooting moods, and she is fine.
This was said by a wild alley cat, a friend of mine.
He did not know it was a put down, for he is kind.
Bashing bushes never worked!
As answers become vague touchés.
Matching hazy questions, akin.
Step up nosily, face-to-face.
The big bully of the civilised world the Russian Federation
Launched a barrage of missiles today hitting a NATO nation
Two innocent people lost their lives in the country of Poland
It's time for the west and NATO, to man up and make a stand.
Intentional or not the west and NATO, they should not ignore
Or we going to accept it was accidental until they fire more
Russia will no doubt blame Ukraine, that's the story they'll tell
The west now needs to send Putin a message and unleash hell.
Vladimir Putin the aggressor started, this war in Ukraine
Its now time to stand to him and inflict on him great pain
You cannot reason with a terrorist country and that is a fact
No more pussyfooting around ,NATO and the west needs to act.
From day one that psychopath has been spoiling for a fight
He now needs to be shown the power of NATO's military might
Putins ageing equipment from World war 2 is no match for the west
Its now time to put our firepower, and highly trained armies to the test.

A Halloween cat on the ice
was chasing the Halloween mice,
but bored with affray,
the cat didn't stay
and turned her attention to vice.

King of the castle
Proud and arrogant
Prowls at night
Spends days alternating
Stretching and sleeping
Following that perfect
Internal clock for feeding times
Totally content with the dullest routine
Dreading jolly interruptions
Those busy festive family rumblings
So many extra people roundabout
All that crazy horsing around
Cat goes about his business
Staying out of family politics
Pussyfooting through the minefield
As I wisely follow his lead

You say you're having problems
With both family and friends
Let's see if we can boil this down
Now where do we begin
No sense in pussyfooting
If we're to get right to the truth
By my calculations
The common denominator is you
If it's you that is the problem
Then the solution is the same
So let's start working in that noggin
And come up with a plan
Perhaps a whole new attitude
A softening of heart
A loosening of the chains of blame
Would be the place to start
If you feel they're out to get you
Before you draw weapons to defend
Search first for the problem
Because it might come from within
I've found a lot of times in life that if you're having issues with others most likely it's your own selfishness that's really the issue.

let me think about this
I told myself
it was only time running out
what is the laughter for?
I was remembering the pussyfooting
publishers
who dismissed this over lunch
maybe it was the thickness
of the fondue
I don't know
it's all just a blur to me now
the whole day spent dreaming
of somebody
I never met
flying through the air
in a dream
we left the crowd
