Her claws are daggers
But never are her words
Her paws might have dirt
Not her heart…
The only one I cherish is her
The one I never regret being together
This together is very short
The memories we made? A lot.
Life is not always butterflies and sunshines
It includes some bitter truths and sad lines
My purrfect friend may not live long
But she is where I belong…

Altho' 'tis something
any sane man would disdain,
should abstain from and abhor,
there are those I condemn
who choose
to cry, 'Mayhem!'
and let loose the dogs of war.
Meanwhile,
no need to think twice,
I prefer a 'purr',
to play nice and release,
tho' they may be old hat,
the pussy-cats of peace.

I have a cat
(or a cat has me),
a furry cat, a very purry cat
when on my lap it's sat,
independent it is
(egotistical too),
yet demands attention
(self-centred through and through),
and when well-fed, its purr
(a four-stroke motor),
is full of condescension,
when behind its ears you scratch
(it's expected of you),
you may believe you heard,
“Meow, meow, meow,”
(sorry, here's the catch),
what it really said is,
“Me now, me now, ME now!”
And, as goldfish swims in bowl,
cat looks on with danger fraught,
thinking, 'So near yet so far,
that fish is food for thought.'

Meowlu the cat, with fur so black,
Sings meow-meow upon his back;
His purrs are soft, his whiskers long,
He loves to hum his favourite song.
At night he wakes and stretches wide,
Then to the window, he glides;
With tiptoe paws and eyes so bright,
Meowlu steps out into the night.
The moon shines down on the grass so green,
Where Meowlu starts his nightly scene;
He mews a tune for all to hear,
The nighttime creatures gather near.
With crickets chirping, frogs in tune,
Meowlu conducts beneath the moon;
Till dawn arrives, he takes a bow,
Then home he trots, with one last meow.

I heard a song, so sweet it rhymed,
Below the ground, nah! above the sky,
Echoes of purr woefully chimed,
Seducing me, nah! fiddling a fly!
Again, my day ends in pretty blue,
Behind the log, her paean bloom,
Again, my day bloom in her meow,
Behind the wall echoes resume.
Within the walls my feline trapped,
Me, a fool, savouring her last cry,
Within my reach the singer pined,
Sang the melody, for me to buy!
Oh God, let her spirit sour high,
I the sinner, never deny!

there was a sweet little man
with a penchant for fashion
who wears his jackets tan
he closes his eyes when he smiles
and looks awfully dashing
eyes of green and gloves of white
he struts about without a worry
soaking in windowbeams til twilight
but if you wake him without caution
he will dash away in haphazard scurry
oh what a lovely little lad
he will greet you with a darling chirp
if you are feeling terribly sad
he has a horizonless kindness
that can heal oceans of hurt
he needs to little to live life sublime
kneading biscuits to start the day
our little Eggy is just a simple guy
whose purrs on your belly will offer
a warmth better than any cabernet

Purr-fect feelings fall like shadows, down,
Casting hope into life’s greatest yearnings,
Purr-fect silence rains promises all around,
Shushing the extravagance of frisky earnings.
Purr-fect wonders exclude the restless meow,
From the promise of agility beyond compare.
Purr-fect stillness calms the most anxious brow,
Fantasizing about the mouse caught in a snare.
Pur-fect poise, dignified she abides the night,
Softly stirring the haunted nightmares of her stalked,
Purr-fect grace, begging for that first tender bite,
From the frozen heart she has assuredly shocked.
Purr-fect joy fills her heart and soul with hope,
When she remembers the cuddling of her human,
Purr-fect composure reminds her she can cope,
Unlike those careless canines, she can see - acumen

Cats always love small spaces.
So I know this narrow passage is not scary for you.
Carrying only the beautiful friendliness from-
The years of being fussed over.
And soon the days of silent purring.

Waddling in like a drunken shadow,
my portly belly cannot pass unseen.
And once spotted, I meow my hello
regal-like, reaffirming I'm their queen.
I'm finicky and won't use my litter
unless it's paw-print deep and freshly cleaned.
And yet, though somewhat slow, I'm no quitter,
keeping myself meticulously preened.
I'm attended by my subjects, my two friends,
who have pampered and groomed me from the start.
And I trust they will until my life ends,
for we have bonded, heart, to heart, to heart.
And when one brushes my ebony fur,
I snuggle in their lap and purr, purr, purr.

Feel bliss throbs purr, pervading form
Joy electricity
Elixir divine thunderstorm
In continuity
That’s how it is, dear friend
Once will to God, we bend
Upon His grace, depend
Boundaries blur
Feel bliss throbs purr

Growing it again, to my beard I'm referring
Not marijuana that the Feds are deterring
My face fuzz it is
Much charm it gives
Most likely will start all the Soup ladies purring

Like bumping into an old friend
un-expectantly
a warm spring day arrives
un-announced.
People smile unabashedly
making their entrance teeth first
into each others view.
It all seems so new.
Winter’s curtain lifts
like Marilyn’s skirt
on a subway grate,
ruffling everyone’s
consciousness awake.
When things are so fine,
we all take note.
A new alertness in the air
carried by all the latest lungs,
like a new Givenchy tote.
Spring has stepped
onto the Avenue.
All eyes are now on her
Everywhere we hear a purr
instead of brrr!
