Pukalani Cat Tale

A pussy I wanted to pet
In a flash became soaking wet
I blow-dried her fur
She started to purr
And she hasn't stopped purring yet!

Premium Member Ode to Found Kitten

My kitten's four paws
Hide claws in his feet.
If his feet are on pause,
He is soundly asleep.

If he then starts to purr
In a deep warm soft rumble,
His engine is idling,
Ready for trouble.

Silent Purr

Cats always love small spaces.

So I know this narrow passage is not scary for you.

Carrying only the beautiful friendliness from-

The years of being fussed over.

And soon the days of silent purring.

Written by Gail DeBole on March 16, 2020

There once was a kitty named Kelly
Who watched his shows on the telly.
When someone massaged his ears
Kelly’s purr became clear
And he became one cheerful felly.

A Kitten's Purr

A kitten snuggles on your lap
and makes that purring sound.
Into your soul pours happiness
and love is all around.

Your heart begins to slow its beat,
to keep time with that purr.
the sounds of peace fill up your mind,
while stroking that soft fur.

Purr

take me for a test drive
look under my hood
tinker with my engine
I still run good

look at my smooth chassis
investigate my dash
I can get you there
and do it pretty fast

investigate deeper
don't do it just for fun
I have a few dings
but I purr when I run

RE-PURR-CUSSIONS

I had gone out
with the “boys”
came home a week later.

She walked out on me
just left
looked over her shoulder
				only once…..

I had never seen that look before
					or since

she never came back…

I threw out her
litter box
a week later.

Soul Purr

You came to my door,
The night I needed a friend the most
Unexpectedly, I smiled

You walked straight inside like I’ve known you all along
And we both knew in each other we did belong
It wasn’t hard to figure out, sweet angel
You came through that door
To restore my soul

-Dedicated to my new furry friend, Clyde

War And Peace

Altho' 'tis something any sane man would disdain, should abstain from and abhor, there are those I condemn who choose to cry, 'Mayhem!' and let loose the dogs of war. Meanwhile, no need to think twice, I prefer a 'purr', to play nice and release, tho' they may be old hat, the pussy-cats of peace.

A Purr-fect Friend

Her claws are daggers
But never are her words
Her paws might have dirt
Not her heart…

The only one I cherish is her
The one I never regret being together
This together is very short
The memories we made? A lot.

Life is not always butterflies and sunshines
It includes some bitter truths and sad lines
My purrfect friend may not live long
But she is where I belong…

The Kitten’s Purr She ran into a dream. Twisted vines clung to gnarly-faced trees. Wavering wisps wandered the fields. Beads of sweat formed in the darkness. Tears trickled through shuttered eyes. Soft orange fur nuzzled her back. A gentle purr calmed her heart eased her through the darkness into a Kitten’s dream. ©9/26/2017 submitted to -IMAGE ME A POEM – poetry contest

Temptress myrrh, lips cherry liqueur,
slinky stir, pulsing panther purr,
femme fatale’s flirt dangerous tease,
wild-cat style pounce you to your knees!

Sinuous, sensual gyrate,
animal allure consummate,
delicious grin, deadly as sin,
inside-out she will spin your skin.

Prowling, growling and soft meow,
feline finesse, enchantress know-how...
tie you in knots, lie you a mess,
panther purr in little black dress.

Echoes of Purr - First Draft

I heard a song, so sweet it rhymed,
Below the ground, nah! above the sky,
Echoes of purr woefully chimed,
Seducing me, nah! fiddling a fly!
Again, my day ends in pretty blue,
Behind the log, her paean bloom,
Again, my day bloom in her meow,
Behind the wall echoes resume.
Within the walls my feline trapped,
Me, a fool, savouring her last cry,
Within my reach the singer pined,
Sang the melody, for me to buy!
Oh God, let her spirit sour high,
I the sinner, never deny!
