Profuse Poems

The Laundry Room

The Laundry Room

Aprons folded flat, tablecloths left lying on their back,
Black patent baby shoes piled in a stack
Against the tower of towels needed for a bath.
Dusty duvets rolled out of use
Toilet mats, underwear , socks all loose.
An ironing board, stands full of abuse
The sadness I feel is so profuse.

War

Scattered around is destruction and debris blast-
Things rendered shapeless and futile ,but to ooze
Disgust and infinitely depressing misery profuse;
What was a pleasure and intact heaven, is lost !

Paralysed life  and sickly breath is just a doom;
What came up in the spirit and sprouts of affinity,
And the blooming faith  finds its end to infinity;
Intense fire has left behind the engirdling gloom

Weird ambition and endless greed do always swell :
All pursuits and desires fulfilled, man doth chase
The vain, 'undo' prompts of the hidden mind base
That blind the vision of the ensuant horror sequel

From the lithic to the vicious latent missile,
Devouring pathos,Rage has stretched  its arm;
The charm of living is lost in death and sick harm
The extant essence of survival is lost in a while

Gone are twitters, chirps and the fresh pearly dew
The blessing sunrise and the sweet cool  breeze;
Dissenting waves are churning the settled seas
Old order merges with the ruined past for the new!

Premium MemberWhen is a dream not reality?

A setted carving,
   Written by privation
Words that leak through unfilled ink
         Gawping empty between ridges.
Then those canyon cliffs retreat again
Back down to their weary plains
            Brothers undo brothers, as
         All plains worn away.
      And those letters of privation
Are gone, as empty were their valley hollows
Their hollow fame ungained.

Vectors collide head into head, their
      Perpendicular paths to ruin
   Skidding, crashing, melting, bubbling,
Paths fuse and fissure, which spitter into nothing.

In death’s head shell, a poltergeist cackle
A ghoul of concave echo walls
It throws flaming cocktails to profuse undo
And set alight the beams of memory.

            And knowledge stolid, solid meals,
         Waste to famine, thoughts
      To hollow dreams, not recollections,
   What deceit
Are believed imaginations.

Set alight those beams
And worn down hollows of privation
I am left with hollow dreams,
   Not recollections. What deceit
Are believed imaginations.

Premium MemberMemento on the Moon

The Sea of Tranquility gives rise to a parasitic plague,
Colonizing mechanical machines grinding,
Robotic arms frantically fabricating an inhospitable habitat.
Plumes of blackened smoke drift off into zero gravity—
A profuse profanity birthing intergalactic implosions.
Forfeited steel domes replace a once-pristine satellite,
Whilst humanity, like vultures, journeys to their new paradise,
Foaming at the mouth to exploit the dark side of the moon.
Looking outside the frosted rocket's windows,
Earth's decaying corpse is nothing but a mere memento mori in the rearview window.

Premium MemberStillness of Time

Written: March 18, 2025 for contest Sponsored by: Rick Parise

                 *****************

A tall tree stands quietly, imparting its tales,
dew drops fall like stars in the morning.
Flowers develop beautifully before tossing,
the sky gradually shifts color, to our avail.

Nature's ever-changing splendor is shown,
life's passing events are cleanly captured.
Solitude fosters heartfelt attraction backward,
stillness possesses what time implies on its own.

Watching seasons perform in their ballet,
dinge is a profuse nostrum nature may spray.
Every breath causes life to wither and sway,
leaves become gold and then float away.

Mauricio, the merry moose
in Lanny Locke’s garden let loose.
He munched on mulberries,
chips, chestnuts and cherries.
The produce he poached was profuse!

His cousin, Carol the cute caribou
consumed cucumber, cabbage and cashews;
and Kory the cute koala
wandered down from Walla Walla
bringing broccoli, beans and barbecue!

I can churn stomachs, with a stench of truth
An abscess filled with maggots, pus profuse
As I feed off gunk, new nerve ends take root
Raw language in my words, not gross abuse
Yes! I am disgust, old wounds fear my fruit

Pearls at Your Feet

I watch pink-blue horizons

as visions of your face

fade in the sinking sun

your footprints linger in the haze.

Reflections of white satin seas

open and shut walls

the Elysium of endless dreams

where shadow and light fall.

Nameless on these pages

weaving sweet tapestry

in sonnets, poetic sequences

as every word comes rapidly.

Secrets of your heart

Touched by subtle motions

Rising with a rising star

At the start of profuse notions.

Gems of topaz

on your caramel hands

sun rain angels’ dance

in a lover’s trance.

Let me play a sonata

as silver moons glide

the muse, Hakuna Matata

you by my side.

Every inch of you is beautiful

curves, your body petite

yesterdays were forever few

I lay pearls at your feet.

I disappear into an ocean of people

leaving paths of sweet jade

until we meet again in the regal

among diamond blue shades.

Premium MemberWhy did I Become a Poet

I didn’t become a poet by choice, but by accident
On falling ill, I met my muse through sheer chance
I have been drawn to nature and its myriad forms
To celebrate that love through poetry is my stance

Never I strained to voice my thoughts in verse
Until poetry came at the appointed time
When chosen, it came and gladly resided in me
And now I feel so blessed and sublime

All that’s alluring and lovesome meets my eyes
And communes to me in profuse delight
Which I turn into rhyme and rhythm
To make the souls of poetry lovers ignite

Poetry has now become a balm kissing my wounds
An escape from the commotion and noise around
It is a smooth glide into a sea of tranquility
And a celebration of all beauty that surround.

Estrangement

.Past the estrangements
Witnessing profuse isolation
Fidgety deep the listless eyes
Conjures up hallucinations
Suffering the incagement
Dreams of touching the skies
Tainted sphere
Smothering her hopes
She breathes in poisoned air
Much like gloomy saprobes
Mistful lashes
Memory on flashes
Fabricated smile
Loaded on heart so fragile
Fails to hide the bedlam
Regret clustered in lump
Can't help but succumb
Yet she dreams high
In ambiguous sigh

Freesoul

Beneath the fury of sun
Wades a wobbly nun
Stomping on thorns
Watch the teary ferns

Scars on her skin
Carrying wounds engraved
Curse devious grin
And snakes she once craved

She sucked and spitted
Bouts of venom in her blood
Tainted by flood
Of emotions she once knitted

Profuse tears of fern
They observe
Drip on her burn
Numbing pain so perverse

Weeped the clouds
In meloncholic ambience
Silence crept loud
Spotting redemption in defiance

Step out the vines
Adorning her bruises
Wind's penchant to divine's
Yearning, she refuses

Blanket of ferns
Ease her shivers
While the moon upturns
Bogs were her new weavers

Time passed by
Has been watching the sky
Fern decays
Her soul repays

Transient Pastures

"As furry as sheep’s clothing;
It’s thick, fluffy, and profuse.
As timid as a white woolly.
I think it all fits you.

The greener the pasture,
The greener the opportunities await.
But friends don’t compete for one blade of grass,
For meadows are as vast as fates.

As evergreen as mountains,
Beautiful friendships grow eternal.
But there are leaves that shed too fast.
This, we have, seems ephemeral.

Picket fences are built for comfort,
They stand still and sturdy like your intentions.
But soon, they'll collapse,
There’ll be no room for circumventions.

Coagulation Starter

Finally, my blood began to coagulate
After a very long time of wait
Wounded and lost too much blood
I was drowned too long in a flood

Now my vein learned to halt my bleeding
And my heart and mind are pleading
That though, I was injured in this fight
Soon, may I see the shine of light

My blood now becomes sticky to drop
And my profuse bleeding begins to stop
And courage slowly replaces my fear
For, I must fight for someone so dear

Now, my blood is harder to stir
But dares to face the blades of spear
For, flee or fight, soon, I'll die anyway
Better for me to fight my way

Premium MemberMystery Castle

Written: February 22, 2024
                    _____________________________________

Tall mountain silhouette against the sky,
A rocky wall frames an eerie castle nearby.
People hide enigmas within that fortress,
There is something there that may thwart us.

It roams the tombs, scaring locals by night,
They say it's a sin that won't ever deem daylight.
The story goes that the fort gates were all aglow,
Once, a lord and his bride built it on a hill below.

Castle walls hosted events and grand balls,
During an ecstatic moment, a baby befalls.
The baron will have a son to carry his legacy,
A coming baby boy filled the castle with glee.

After profuse labor, things went awry for the lady,
Many claim what was born that day was shady.
The baron closed the castle for balls and feasts,
The item born in the castle seems like a beast.

Years of seclusion in the fort doomed the baron,
The stink of rotting bodies found in the environ.
With time, the fort's beast grew, fearing man sight,
Evil beast leave the fort to wreak havoc at night.
