Pretence Poems

The Face Behind The Mask

What hides behind your painted smile?
A gentle soul, or a storm in waiting?
Do your eyes speak truth,
or are they windows with curtains drawn?

When you laugh among the crowd,
is it joy that dances,
or loneliness in disguise?

How many words are spoken
not from the heart,
but from a script carefully written?
How many hands are shaken
while the mind whispers something

AI Detectors or Art Detestors?

Despite your intelligence mimicry,
You still come far short in your gimmickry,
Throwing down the drains fine masterpieces,
Flushed away as a fresh bout of faeces.

Nights without sleep to pen wonders on sheet,
Yet a lame detector brands one a cheat,
An app claiming to be a true genius ~
Is far from being labeled ingenious.

How long will your pretence rule

HOW CAN I PRETEND: PART 4

HOW CAN I PRETEND ?
PART 4

Innocence, zest, curiosity
remain intact protected
crimson hymns I earned
when Divinity composed
a skin of cheetah brown
amused at a white chin
where my masculine’s
fuzzy beard ought to be
HE raucously laughed
aloud at my horrored
‘Don’t You Dare !
O Great One !’

Then asked ‘What will you

HOW CAN I PRETEND: PART 3

HOW CAN I PRETEND ?
PART 3

Pretence lies coffined
as Spring makes a call
early chincherinchees
kissing late winter’s wind
knowing empty cupboards
will be filled once more
perceptions of another
timeline where artful
wiles and emotionless
inserts receive no nods
of approval

My Love stands oaked
in cerebral signature
unashamedly chiffon
unmoved before
North-South, East-West
Buddha and Serapis in a
visiting

HOW CAN I PRETEND: PART 2

HOW CAN I PRETEND ?
PART 2

Pretence is for those who
round a corner with I did
read that book, she smiles
with her eyes, then escape
to humour minds or waves
agonising over shame
or secrecy or stealth
calculating cunning
strategies for recognition
such nouns or adjectives
are human language
defining egoic grids
instead I

HOW CAN I PRETEND : PART 1

HOW CAN I PRETEND ?
PART 1

How can I pretend when
flutters across my chest only
prickle as your thought
arrives with doubt or hope
What is hope anyway ?
A flimsy wish built upon
a matrix I no longer
attune to as Mantis
explores my device

How can I pretend when
staring at a mouldy

Premium MemberThe Noise of Pretence

In a space that should hum with focus,
Where thoughts flow like ink on paper,
I walk the halls, and what do I hear?
The clatter of egos—loud, brash,
A symphony of insecurity,
Each voice a drum pounding louder,
Drowning out the quiet rhythm of real productivity.

Oh, the harshness of noise!
Your chatter like chainsaws,
Hacking away the sweet silence,
The sanctuary where ideas

FELICIA

This architectural frame upon your mortal hue
Testifies God’s perfection and generosity in creation
These compartments of yours that dazzle the eye
Are autographs that you are far above angelic beauty
Radiant queen among mortals, adorned in attire that beckons angels
Like the fallen giants who lost heaven in pursuit of the daughters of men
Not even the devout priest

For I Have Sinned

Forgive me
For I have sinned in my tenacity
to challenge you on the battlefield of morality.

Forgive me
For offending your duplicity
with my transparency.

Forgive me
While you carouse with your unquenchable lies

Our Life of Cheap Pretence

Our Life of Cheap pretense
We could watch through a lens
For its failures to yield us a half pence
Or deliver crisp commonsense;
One’s decided airs of pretense
A mere sitting on the fence,
As one feels not life as it is tense
Nor The Original Writer help his pens…

I’d start questioning the essence
Of A Talkative

Premium MemberGame of Pretence

Game of pretence, is played out everyday
Our authentic self, seems to have no say
As we go about through needless parlance
Social etiquette cause of dalliance
Oft saying yes, when we wish to say nay

Hypocrisy becoming our mainstay
Subterfuge as way of life, here to stay
Silencing gentle voice, of our conscience
Game of pretence

Shifty eyes, lips that lie, thread

Mask

MASK

Under the duvet of sham I laid,
Combing in all the naive of me,
Putting on thy fake faint smile,
Caped in the journey of disguise.

I embrace my veil to my beard
To cover the dark part of me
Never to let the sun smiles it brightness to the scornful wound of my heart
And not to receive the cool breeze

Romantic Twists

One thing they ask ask and ask
They ask and answer stays puzzle
Every lip's tip remain no drizzle
That people's sake past hippos
The laughter and lovely rattling
Under the rivulet chants and pants
Say whatever goes around-
And applause of comes around.

Initial romantic turns run-
leaving the living question restrained
For the tickle stimulated laughter
And pampers of baby and baby
Promising heaven in
