A Pretence

What say you now.. what likeness do you display today.. what image do you contrive.. which trademark will you leave for others to ponder- will it be tempered by love or merely a paraphrase of the truth which you so carefully conceal.. I'm intrigued I only ask.. is there someone real behind that mask?

And people who watch, like voyeurs, prefer to see the masks worn in Greek plays- tragedy and humour. Are there real people behind those masks- player or spector? For when the truth is spoken, it is robed in individual ambivalence...and given black/ white thumbs up/ thumbs down...I find your poems thought-provoking...Thank You!
