Trapped in a Bubble

Hare trapped in a bubble,
Too pained by the capture;
Yet chews its last supper.
Even joy precedes pains—
    stop your stare,
    dare to help.
    Though I err,
    spare some love,
    wipe my tear.

Premium MemberParadox of awakening

Thought precedes action, intent comes yet before,
arising from murmurs of a restless soul,
feeling incomplete, though each pore is a door,
to imbibe agape love, that heart may feel whole,
yet foiled by ego that always keeps a score,
so negating God’s light, we make do with dole.
He who wishes to ascend does not exist;
When the false falls, we transform as a bliss mist.

Premium MemberWhat Makes me Smile

What makes me smile?—For one: the grin of life;
but, too, its touch of giggle grazing on
my ticklish skin,—Though soon again withdrawn,
yet long lingers in memory, full, rife.

This makes me smile—(the laughter of a leaf
fluttering through the airs of yawning dawn.
I think it now, though next I’ll find it gone,
but note the chimes of mirth and bells of grief.)!

But, most of all, the experience of love
—of that of other, self, or all of all,
precedes, exceeds, (impedes?,) towers above
every other need…—Question marks abound,
and, gently litling to a waltzing bawl,
re(sound, (sound, (sound, (sound, (sound, (sound, (sound, (sound, (sound))))))))).

Premium MemberWhat Makes Me Smile--All Things Christmas

I love the sights of Christmastime
from manger scenes to mistletoe.
Sweet, joyous sounds pervade the air
from "Praise the Lord" to "HO HO HO!"

I give to those who are in need,
for God says, "Love your fellow man."
Then when I shop for family,
I buy them every gift I can.

The carolers and choirs perform
"O Holy Night" and "We Three Kings,"
while celebrants in living rooms
sing tunes about what Santa brings.

A prayer precedes our Christmas feast;
the smorgasbord brings great delight.
The kids soon snuggle near the fire
enrapt as Dad starts, "'Twas the Night . . . “

This season is a splendid time
that bears a special, holy name,
so as I smile through "Jingle Bells,"
I won't forget why Jesus came.

Forced Rhymes

A whiff of my kitchen, a medicinal pill,
the side order of rain drools at a windowsill.

An utterance precedes a service; the rumble,
the window slides itself shut. A bumble
bee ricochets off a glass pane
moaning louder than our train

of thought waylaid with bacon sizzling up a storm.
There's an anxiousness trapped inside as warm
as indoors petrichor's marshmallow mood
steamed under nostrils fused above burned food.

A swirl follows itself in a perfect circle
on a smartphone screen. The attentive middle
of somewhere where I don't know where I am headed
while time and place are forgettably wedded,
O lips lit up, no doubt, by the whitening screen,
words digitize what would otherwise burn green.

Premium MemberEchoes of the silent shore

As hum of stillness that precedes heart’s intent,
before being translated as thought in mind,
I Am the very source that grants souls consent
to dance hoping they will be loving and kind,
that assured then is their heavenward ascent,
along a path specially for them designed.
I Am God’s magnetism throbbing in all hearts,
silent from birth and till the last breath departs.

Premium MemberMy Afterthought's My Goal

My afterthought is my goal--precedes me,
My health and healing is my main concern,
All else is fairly addressed--and not key,
My patience requires my good return.

Good hopes and goodwill--righteousness succeeds,
My afterthought is my goal--precedes me,
Glory be His name, as illness concedes,
Treatment and proper care will set me free.

An amicable life leads properly,
A blessed future will be my reward,
My afterthought is my goal--precedes me,
Well-kept focus, one mind, and one accord.

My faith is strong in Christ's saving Grace,
My good health is healing internally,
My health accompanies me to first base,
My afterthought is my goal--precedes me,

Premium MemberCarpe Diem With Heart

My days before were fulfilled daily,
No less and no more, well-balanced,
Blessed chapters and verses were faithful,
Cardinally, orderly--precedes and succeeds,

Until carpe diem claimed Mom's heart,
A reasonable necessity,
Her pain and suffering was addressed,
Age was hers and time was ours,

My son's carpe diem came,
Unexpected, caught off-balanced,
Did my best with my guard down,
I received my carpe diem long after,

Carpe diem was mine,
Yet I was no longer myself,
Realized a changed presence in me,
My heart was much heavier than before.

Premium MemberVanishing point

Feeling a little cross
I gave out to god
For piling different shapes
upon my hod
To think, we never had
any future plan
So made one up
with the home insurance man

Anyway, I'm covered
for a sudden leak
But excess is high
and outlook pretty bleak
With water damage
undermining my eyes
Canopies atop
fail to keep me baptised

In a world slowly spinning
time arcs from view
I lose my line of sight
as payment's accrue
My policy reneges
states I'm in arrears
Offers me (a one off fix)
then disappears

Like most chancers in life
I accept the lump
My hod full of shapes
forming a concave hump
Light recedes slower
through an inverted mind
Come take a look
I'm not the one praying blind

Still, I could sit with Jesus
and chat all day
Til our questions
compel each other away
Faster than light speed
(dark energy) recedes
To voids so distant
god awful truth precedes

Vanishing points converge
as minds can't make sense
Mine's light years away
nailed to a cosmic fence
Insurance man tries
to sell me empty space
He's the devil
I bought it all just in case!

Premium MemberIn a world where I do not exist

The world where I do not exist
is only a heartbeat either way
A flicker of light
a trickle of tears
blue turns into (grey)

And it is grey
not black or white
A void without permission
or invite
Oblivious and comfortable
the great filter be
Forgettable too
in absence of memory

Yet into the grey I go
to a realm of nothingness
A world with no woe —
Infinite in empty ignorance
Energy becomes of me
an atom-less mass of entropy

Stretching, pulling
Rising, falling
upon waves of gravity

Outside of time
only spontaneity
in this world
where I strew

Malleable, gaseous, shapeless,
Infinitely complex,
intrinsically simple
Diffusion spirals inside infusion
across a pulsing eternity
For the greatest time
I never had
A netherworld
that does not know sad

This world where I do not exist
precedes and succeeds me

Come what will
Come what may
From where I come
I go back today

A spasm, a twist
a breath, a death
a cycle anew
No void to view

With nothing else to do
til the grey
burns back to blue

Premium MemberThe Magic of Worthwhile

Writers write to master the minds
like mine to master, be thines,
5th century Greek writers Patriarch
Herodotus, Thucydides and Plutarch.

They savor the flavor, 'Land Battles', be
Persia and Greece, intro 5th century.

Persian priests', called it magosh, then,
Greeks termed the word magoi when
it changed to mageia and then magika,
hence, precedes that illusion, magical.

The battle itself was a point of focus,
but in reality, 'twas an uprising tempest,
all that matters merely meant confusion,
purpose the word, magic, sort of illusion.

At the start, a keen preceptor will take,
while the rest, smoke and mirror, mistake
goal to amuse, jam and jelly seize a fainted
a riddle connects the dots, numbers painted
a true picture of the taken as the takers smile
'MAGIC', those who knew & misknew, worthwhile.

Premium Membersensuous queen of hearts

Sensuous queen of hearts is so beautiful they said
Not at all stuck up, level inside her soul and head
She has a beauty that precedes her reputation
Made in heaven, she is a comely, sexy creation

Premium MemberA to Z of Knowledge

Advice has no use to the ‘know all’
But pride often precedes a fall
Crass indignation when questioned
Denying each truth that is mentioned
Evidence he calls refutable
Facts, he says, aren’t indisputable
Grey is the colour of dubious knowledge
Hark at the novice as he enters college
If one week of lectures makes him feel all knowing
Just grin politely at ignorance showing
Kith and kin revel in such peace and quiet
Life is so peaceful, it’s almost a riot
Motor mouth’s gone for a couple of years
No doubt he’ll grow something between his ears
Or will he just come home as bad as before
Pounding our eardrums until they are sore
Quoting past monarchs that once held dominion
Recited - ignoring conflicting opinion
So if you know someone who ‘knows more than God’
Tell him that learning’s no sprint but a plod
Utter confusion may darken his face
Vitriol, soon will take confusion’s place
“What do you know, you’re so uneducated,
X-Ray your brain; you’ll find you’re overrated.”
Yet, when it’s back off to college tomorrow
Zero shame shown when he says, “Could I borrow…..”

Premium MemberFall Inspiration

A righteous reward harvesting,
one mind in accord gathering,
the autumn seasoning succeeds,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

Induced to wake and chase the sun
as day's light trim will soon outrun,
prayer that lengthen intercedes,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

The market is a lively place,
as empty shelves are filled with grace,
as farmers glee fulfilling needs,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

A good day greets a setting sun,
the barn door's closed seems all is done,
the pastures gleaned as breath recedes,
as Promise holds the prayer beads.

A washed soul grasps a warm embrace,
shared labored love well set in place,
feast awaits as prayer precedes,
true love holds to the prayer beads.
