LIFE IS A ROLLER COASTER
WITH EVERY TWIST AND TURNS
LIFE CAN HAVE ITS UPS AND DOWNS
LIFE IS A LESSON THAT CAN BE LEARNED.
LIFE IS NEVER PLAIN SAILING
AND ITS NOT MEANT TO BE
EVERY HUMAN IN THIS PLANET
HAVE GOT THEIR OWN PAST HISTORY.
ONE BAD DAY DOESN'T DESERVE ANOTHER
GRAB THE HAND OF A FELLOW MAN
GRAB THE HAND OF YOUR SISTER OR BROTHER
AND HUG EACH OTHER IF YOU CAN.
LIFE IS TOO SHORT
TO WORRY ABOUT WHAT IF AND WHY
BY THE TIME YOU'VE FIGURED LIFE OUT
YOUR LIFE HAS PASSED YOU BY.
When we started to share a bed
(After our wedding, it should be said)
Although we knew what we had to do,
We were inexperienced, me and you.
There were books in the library we might try
But, in the end, we were far too shy.
So we ordered the Kama Sutra on line,
In a plain brown wrapper, so that was fine.
Now we’re working through it page by page
(Though the language comes from a bygone age)
It hasn’t been all plain-sailing for me.
I slipped a disc on page fifty-three!
But now we’re getting quite proficient
And what we’re doing must be sufficient.
For the doctor broke the news today
That we’ll need to buy a cot in May.
In the space of six weeks,
had two operations,
the first was plain sailing,
the second one I began failing.
Everything went wrong,
I caught a super bug,
heart, liver kidneys, lungs
oh and oxygen level sunk.
I was in a scary place,
Elias saw it on my face,
he called the paramedics
for he could not wake me,
our two boys were afraid.
Thank God I was brought back,
two days in ICU four in
the general ward, eventually,
I wanted to come home,
I wanted to wash my
hair and give it a good comb.
The doctor said OK but,
No medicines allowed,
I stuck it out,
I’m feeling better today,
than I did yesterday,
have realized that life is sweet,
and a treat, I will meet,
my maker one day,
and I nearly did,
but it wasn’t my time,
my bell did not chime,
doctors think I caught
a Covid related bug,
Covid is a vagabond, a
rogue and a thug,
will it ever say goodbye,
or does it need humans,
it’s hungry appetite to satisfy.
Your voyage began in the summer of 69.
The adventures of life lay ahead.
Though you knew it would not all be plain sailing,
Your four years of prep put you in good stead.
At times, when your sea got quite choppy,
You'd batten down the hatches, as it were.
For both of you knew that after rocky waves
A storm was likely to occur...
After some time, the storm would abate.
In the calm you could recover.
And even though the storm was bad,
You'd grown closer, relied on each other.
As time has gone by it may feel
Like the unsettlement seems to lengthen,
But because you close ranks to wether these storms
Your trust, love and bond does strengthen.
Your ship is one of stability!
Wherever your journey may take you,
I wish you both a " Happy Anniversary! "
And long may your travels continue!
Hey, helmeted heads and masked faces
Just doff your boring accessories
Come step into this secluded place
Which makes your mundane minds go crazy
On watery leaves, these little birds glide
Roistering the plain sailing water ride
There, the perky squirrels hoard fallen fruits
Wandering here and there forgetting their route
Butterflies here amaze us by their divine dance
And sometimes they also give us a great chance
Spins the enigmatic web, the signature spider
Writes on all the edges, the welcome letter
Look down and see the tiniest of tiny snails smile
And in pursuit of wonders, I don't need to go miles

An old man sitting on a park bench
Reminiscing of days gone by,
Times he has travelled the world
And scenes that captured his eye.
So many wonderful memories,
Of friends he made now calls mate.
Nor does he have any regrets
By leaving the travelling too late.
He's recorded events of those days
They're safely stored away in a book.
It shows all the places he's been,
In album's of photos he took.
He's not wealthy but is content,
Life's been an adventure to him
Sometimes it wasn't plain sailing
But his life was never called dim.

A old man is sitting on a park bench,
His fingers move over a screen,
He relies on the iPad for answers
Was all he needed at thirteen.
Computers have taken over his life,
He wished he'd had courage to cancel,
That contract signed with a provider,
But chose to remain and excel.
He's addicted to the computer,
Must be on it each day, can't wait
Relies on a spell checker to spell,
Keeps buying so he can update.
Now much wiser, he's many regrets
Missed out on sights to be seen,
Wished he had traveled the world
Rather than just on a screen.

Don’t let the world make you bitter
Don’t let the world turn you cold
Some things that happen when we're younger
Can come back to haunt us when we're old
Things will happen that hurt us
And people we cherish will leave
But everything happens for a reason
This I truly believe
We can all be vulnerable
And our heart can break
None of us are perfect
And we all make mistakes
Always be true to yourself
Don’t pretend to be something you’re not
You’ll find out who your true friends are
Who will accept you no matter what
Life will not be plain sailing
And eventually you will find
That those who mind don’t matter
And the people who matter don’t mind
Rob played semi-professional rugby,
From when he was 4 until the age of 21,
When he got a serious spinal cord injury,
Whilst playing that rough game spun.
As part of his rehabilitation sessions,
At Rookwood Hospital, exists in Cardiff,
He played table tennis for his arms,
Which he continued thereafter, his quiff.
That was from 2005, but by ’11’s Euros,
He qualified for London’s Games 2012,
The Paras of tremendous meme flows,
About disability sport, now off the shelf.
But he left lonely and without a medal,
Which made him determined, craving,
So he increased the work and the mile,
He sweat each day, a medal engraving.
He was World No. 6 in 2012, not good,
For him, so he worked on consistency,
And became the Euro Champ good,
In Italy with singles and team tenancy.
In 2015 at the Euros again, in Vejle,
In Denmark, he did the same thing -
Topped the charts with his angle,
In both events - it was plain sailing.
Then, the major victory came in Rio,
The crowd erupted wildly at his win,
Because the tension had been audible,
When he’d wrangled to win gold vin.
Trekking along with weighty doubts,
Piled repeatedly and in attempt,
The dream so rewarding in giant
But not so plain sailing in its dark clouds.
You keep pushing and pushing
Though touring in, it's not friendly,
You keep digging and digging
Though pulling might be heavy,
And,
You keep navigating
With a wrecked ferry.
Protracted unexpectedly so greatly,
Do then surrender
As snail would'nt.
Darkest aspiration blended with lights
And heights at times,
Choped ideas jotted unfulfilled,
Delayed by self-doubts,
All dreamed,
Yet action you're without.
You keep pushing and pushing
Though touring in, it's not friendly,
You keep digging and digging
Though pulling might be heavy,
And,
You keep navigating
With a wrecked ferry.
One climbs the mountain of life
some full of hope others with fear
each one taking a separate path
already making life changing choices
For some the climb long and arduous
with glimpses of hope and happiness
most trudge along going both up and down
never reaching their true potential
For a rare few plain sailing awaits their hopes
do these give back or help those who struggle?
For them who conquer their personal Everest
satisfaction their time here was so well spent
whats the point in getting old ??? Let me have a look ...
Firstly I was lucky enough to start a chapter in this book ...
My childhood was great in lots of ways , no major ills nor breaks of bone...
My later teens somewhat akin to breaking ground on a boulder stone !!!!
But forge on in I did with hope and grabbed it well and good....
I travelled , I wed and had children..looked great from where I stood !!!!
I have that all behind me now and ready to write more pages by far.....
I walk ahead in good health , more wise and nursing the occasional scar !!!!
So whats the point in getting old ??? I am looking forward to its unveiling.....
Make all your days count for something and it should be just real plain sailing !!!!!!!!
The first day of a new football season, what does it hold in store
will it be de ja vous,or many goals will score
Boro, always seem, to put you all to hope
the carrot snatched away, but we do have to cope.
It`s always been the same senario, but there was a time
when we hit wembley, twice in one season, and were not in our prime
relegated after, we were deducted points, players we did lack
we held our heads, built our strength, the top flight we were back
Nevertheless, a true Middlesbrough fan, will take the smooth and rough
be it all the good, plain sailing, or just down right tough
but being a mediocre team,we cannot really ask more
what a feeling it is though, when we get a winning score.
.
A hostage to fortune, a throw of the dice
Your confidence blind as you skate on thin ice
The plans that made that you think cannot fail
Are full of ambition yet decidedly frail
Life’s so unpredictable, full of surprise
The sworn promises given turned out to be lies
The anger you feel at the hands of a cheat
Dreams are in tatters you thought were complete
Your shattered that life should put you to the test
When all of the time you were doing your best
You now start to wonder just how you will cope
Life undermines all but it can’t defeat hope
So never give up, whilst there’s sun in the sky
Stare the adversity straight in the eye
Face up to your demons ignore all the dread
Tomorrow, plain sailing so full steam ahead
Insomnia,
Life is worthless,
This society is sinking into hell,
Wake up screming,
Fight fire with fire,
Then nothingness,
And ghostdom,
Does he move us around then put us to sleep,
Or are we talking cheap,
What is you or forget,
Someone touched me last night,
I guess I looked rather sad,
And too old for the crowd,
Still Sit on a bench,
And wait for your ship to come in,
Its plain sailing,
When only emptiness remains.
It would be so easy
just to give up on life
It would make complete sense
just to let go
the moment of anger is gone
it’s about keeping yourself sane
when chaos reigns
no one said it would
be plain sailing
no one said you would
feel no pain
it’s all about taking that first step,
it’s all about admitting you need help,
just uttering those words
would set a miracle in motion
it would make the universe realize
you’ve had enough
you’re ready to become
the person you’re meant to be…
