Hot peppermint tea
tumbles into my thin cup.
Scent focuses work.
A tongue to be satisfied
Ice cream, from a light purse.
A choice to receive breeze
Or be embraced in a chilled, dark room.
A fight to be remembered
Or a fall towards the deep end.
I strike the gavel in favor
Of my bad guys
I silenced my Angel.
I chose an answer that melts
with Spring's winds,
rather than my preserved tea leaves—
My Peppermint.

Christmas stockings
swaying~
the promise
of
peppermint

winter
air
behold
the
twirl of
the
peppermint rose
so
bright
Green and gold
Peppering the season
Praising God, the reason
Prayers for hearts and souls
Peace that always consoles
Preparing us for One
Prince of Peace, He will stun
Pure love has just begun
Peppermint princess so striped and pretty
Decorated the Christmas shelf though she was bitty
Carolers came by and sang songs in her honor.
Elves wandered by, fell in love, one was a goner.
Who designed her? The other dolls wondered in amazement.
She was so gorgeous, they wished she was down in the basement.

Floats in peppermint daydreaming,
nothing can touch her inhaling;
Therapy's so easy masking;
Sober, sobbing; Sober, sobbing;
Treatment's only temporary;
Try to deal without whiskey,
sugar, or that cup of coffee;
Just keep busy; Just keep busy.
Peppermint Christmas angels were doing the cha cha cha.
“What else can you do?” Asked a pinecone name of McGraw.
We can do the petootsie dance, and we can tease our maw.
“What else can you do?” asked a prissy critical macaw.
“We can twirl and spin, and we can make delicious coleslaw.
We can play racquetball and we can spot an editorial flaw.
We can peel potatoes in a fancy way if you get them raw.
We are pretty talented,” said the angels, and we can draw.”
Someone put one in my pocket
I was hoping it was you
It would have been so wonderful
An answer to my query, who?
I'm not sure why necessarily
But I'll tell you from my point of view:
I'd be honored to know that you think me so
Meaning you think that I am sweet too
Aromatic alleviation that you need;
the secret to having anything succeed?
A blanket fort and peppermint pillow mote;
Sea of calm spiked with crimson passion;
If you get high on imagination?
That’s the turnkey to get inside;
I dare you to try and break the fire wall
if there’s nothing of childhood you recall;
Forever locked outside your psyche;
Fragrant aroma that allows you to breathe
free to rejoin what lies underneath;
Inhale exhale, roll back in time.
A hint of lush white peppermint,
Such fragrance simply so exquisite.
Peppermint Princess tries for attention daily
Wearing her candy cane Christmas colors so gaily,
It is only June the Calendar Enforcer in a prissy way.
Peppermint Princess does not care; she has come to play.
She dances around the Christmas Prince batting her eyes.
He has heard of her reputation, which is no big surprise.
She is a cute little thing he agrees with Jeeves, his Squire.
Gives him permission to date her, for she lights his fire.
Steep a bag of peppermint tea
into a cup of boiling water
and let it bleed
The minty flavor blends and holds
that peppermint aroma bold
A sniff of steam tickles your nose
and goes way down to curl your toes
Blow the steam and take a sip
taste of peppermint cleanse the palate
Refreshes the mouth and clears the nose
again the peppermint can curl your toes
Hot and savory on a cold day
peppermint tea keeps the chills away
Better yet don't remiss
peppermint tea gives you kissable breath
No sugar or honey I need
drink it straight my peppermint tea
For the stomach it does soothe
relaxes tensions into smooth
Peppermint tea a minty delight
think I'll have another cup tonight
