Book

----------BOOK----------

Some sort of book,
Everybody needs.
Good book, bad book,
Fulfills your greed.

Light book, nice book,
Whatever you need.
Some sort of book,
Everybody needs.

Good book, good look,
Just take a peek.
Everybody needs
A book each week.

Red book, black book,
On what you agreed.
Some sort of book,
Everybody needs.

Bad book, cheap book,
Nothing will shatter.
After reading books,
You work like butter.

Gold book, silver book,
Whatever you plead.
Some sort of book,
Everybody needs.

Eat book, sleep book,
Read—no matter.
Knowledge is the thing
You spread and scatter.

Through my little fingers I'd peek
When I was a kid I would freak
Watching wicked witch melt
Frightful fear I then felt
That I wouldn't bathe for a week!

Premium MemberPEEK INTO A POETESS’S SOUL

             ~ PEEK INTO A POETESS’S SOUL ~

?
It's her own delightful ballet studio!

Round and round the poetess goes.

Seeing herself in the sparkling, glass mirror.

And rainbow-tainted visions of her past.

Doing practice positions at the barre!

Yet a vision into her past, is truly a holy foray.

Times of great angst, times of ineffable joy.

Recalling her first kiss and oh, that boy!

Parents who took her on pony rides.

          Where are they now?

Swept away by life's salty tides.

All her friends, she sees in the mirror.

          Events, parties, glorious wedding dinners.

She longs to waltz through the mirror and to
          hug them all.

But stopped she is, by reality's wall.

Each one, in their way contributed to her life.

Of roses, ribbons, total goodness and more.

A grateful tear, splashes in gratitude, on the ballet floor.

A shy sun
plays peek-a-boo
with clouds
clogging the sky;
and barring its path.
Dyed in shades
of grey;
they gather
like sheep,
clustering
overhead;
grazing on blue skies.
And soon, melancholy
tears,
morph into raindrops.

In his shirt of bright yellow nylon,
Nicky hung, with his curious eye on
A pool he bent over,
Cool water enclosure
Still, he's well-dressed with his smile on.

A Hinder Peek At Life
Miracle Man
6/15/2024

I couldn’t finish something,
that I didn’t first start.
Also, my tongue only uttered,
things found in my heart.

Any troubling thoughts,
I always quickly cast aside.
For God knows my heart,
and things from others I might hide.

My tongue is a launching pad,
that utters words that hurt.
So I think before speaking,
and those harsh words avert.

I’ve worked both hard, and smart,
my attitude, to be zappy.
Life awarded me no shortcuts,
in my quest to be happy.

Love me sweetly
I will you
I'll make sure
The things I do
Are all the things
You want me to

Your happiness
Is what I seek
Say my name
When at the peak
No need for words
No need to speak

I'll know the point
When you are there
Vanilla rose
Floats in the air
Now go to sleep
Without a care

And when you wake
It's real, you'll know
Right next to you
Is no pillow
It's not a dream
Or marshmallow

It's me...

Peek-a-Boo

The sun is playing peek-a-boo.
It warms me when it’s out,
But when it hides behind the clouds,
A chill shows off its clout.

I much prefer the sunshine’s rays,
Which sink into my skin,
Reminding me that spring’s the season
We will soon be in.

Between the cotton puffs of cloud,
The sky’s a lovely blue,
Which darkens just a bit each time
The sun plays peek-a-boo.

Premium MemberA Lighthearted Peek At The Apocalyptic World Of Poetry Contests

This contest style’s description is one I’ve never heard
I’m unfamiliar with that particular word
An internet search comes up empty
However, others seem to have poems aplenty
My eyes are getting blurry a total collapse seems imminent
Quickly penning an entry appears to be the only way out of my predicament
My freshly emerged imposter’s syndrome is now on full display
As I throw words together to prayerfully send a piece on its way
Whoops, I don’t believe the lines above were exact rhymes
I wonder if I will get disqualified this time
I see it is quintessential to utilize the word “quintessential”
Unfortunately, that stretches me to also use a word like “nonextensile”
Argh! I just realized I’m not counting my meter
I promise I’m not purposefully being a cheater
Oh well, competitions are all in good fun,
even if they drive you a bit crazy
You just have to be creative, put in the work,
and not . . . something, something lazy

Premium Memberlets peek at the autumn faeries

Vancouver looks flooded from this bridge
I see one lone brave water skier rounding a curve
It is November, but there are no biting wind chills
It is unrecognizably warm for Thanksgiving week

there are blotches and blips of leaves on the water
Oranges, tangerines and cinnamons twirling a bit
Let’s take a peek at the autumn faeries, I suggest
I hear one laugh, she sounds like a tingling chime

No one wants to take the hike, which is okay
Solitude is my preferred hobby, making photographs easier
no pushy humans demanding selfies and such
I linger for a while, now a fulfilled pirate queen

Interesting to me that red coral looks so beautiful next to Turquoise
They go hand in hand like grass and trees and ducks and ponds
I kept going back to take one more peek
Just buy it! My girlfriend urged me.
I truly did want it, but I had already bought so much for myself.
You deserve it! My inner voice said. I went back for the sixth time.
I could take fifty cents off, the vendor said.
Sold!

Premium Memberdaddy takes a peek

Helena wants to be a fashion designer.
Her daddy was talked into buying her an old mannequin.
She loved it ever so much and spent days with it.
What is she creating in there? He asked her mother.
Why don’t you go find out, she suggested.
He asked if he could take a peek.
Sure! Helena said. Come on in!
She had fashioned a bra out of bottle caps.
Her daddy was speechless.
He asked his wife is Helena planned to wear it.
That’s anybody’s guess, his wife said. She is sixteen.

Premium MemberTake a sneak peek

Flickers in the void reveal,
what space attempts to conceal,
that we’re encased in its womb,
entrapped in a catacomb.

All realms dual are thought forms,
for soul to learn through fierce storms
and then return to God’s light,
that shimmers through space, so bright.

To see this truth with our eyes,
is known when our ego dies,
for since we’re not body-mind,
we see when we’re love aligned.

Love arises on its own,
when lower mind we dethrone,
that as pheromones mingle,
eye of soul becomes single.

Bliss fixates our attention,
to behold God’s dimension,
in, within and all around,
which divine light does surround.

We can see, if we release,
habit to think, a disease
and allow silence to speak,
to get of God, a sneak peek.
