Premium MemberWhispers of a Lifelong Friend

When shadows lengthen and the day grows still,
I lean into the quiet, soft and deep,
Just pulling up the blankets for a sleep.
It feels like resting after years of work,
Like sitting down when all the chores are done,
No heavy doubts or fears that try to lurk,
Just watching out the window, the fading sun.
My breathing slows, a simple, steady rhythm,
And all the noise inside begins to clear,
I leave the weight of everyday right with them,
And find a strange, gentle stillness here.
No dramatic exit, no pain to fight or mend,
Just letting go, and letting darkness blend.

Premium MemberThe Dragon's Flagon

A dragon lived high on a hill
Drinking his greatest skill
Not dreaming of raiding
Or eating young maidens
He would rather lay back and chill.

There once was a burly young knight
Sent out for a dragon to fight
Thought killing was cruel
He would rather duel
He hoped the dragons had left in the night

On coming upon the drinking dragon
He happily accepted a flagon
He lay down his sword
A drink was poured
They were last seen in an old wagon

BLIND, yet they see deeper, fuller.

RICHER by far, enriching

EVERY breath I take.

AWESOMENESS is what I see in

THEM, lighting up my clouded world.

HEROES in the greatest sense.

LOVE in the darkest caves.

ETERNITY is made for such as they.

STILLNESS in a God kind of way;

SOLEMNITY that takes my breath away.

Premium MemberLove’s Broad Reach

“I think scars are like battle wounds-beautiful in a way. They show what you’ve been through and how strong you are for coming out of it.”
    Demi Lovato

Love has a broad reach
It’s truly magical and deep
With power to bring about peace
It boldens the shy and meek

A broad reach it can create
With warm touch procreate
And continue in a face
Blended like a copy a babe

A broad reach it is divine
Love gives sight to blind
It’s not selfish and it’s kind
True love stands test of time

Love each other and self as well
Create heaven on earth avoid hell

Premium MemberFind your tribe

Don't go through life alone.
You don't have to wander aimlessly.
Find the niche where you belong.

Find your kindred spirits wherever they may be.
They'll understand, accept and welcome you.

You'll no longer feel like a misfit
struggling to make your way against the grain of life.
The world will seem like a better and kinder place.

Premium MemberOn Thanksgiving Day

I know I'm blessed
and have much to be thankful for
I've lived many happy decades
love and friendships along the way

I look around and see much strife
in many corners of the world
I appreciate the peace surrounding me
and all the luxuries not to be taken for granted

My heart bleeds to think not everyone
has peace of mind for their family
in war torn countries they fear for their safety
I pray for an era where conciliation will reign for all

Premium MemberHippies

So what’s wrong about hippies
Peace and love and hair
Tell me if there still is
Magic in the air
Tell me what’s the substitute
For the peace and love
Can we make our own cahoot
On the terms above?
Out on the streets and then
You are back with stuff
Act as if you have a plan
Though your plan’s a bluff
And you know there is no goal
Other than a peace
And some love is there for all
What’s more worth than this?

Premium MemberThoughts about Russia-Ukraine after reading Luigi Pirandello’s War

I truly believe that in paradise
everything is perfect, everything is nice.
Hell, there, even souls from Russia and Ukraine
can toast newfound friendship with pink, iced champagne,
and laugh ~ about their ultimate sacrifice.

Premium MemberWhat to Do If A Friend Stops Reading You

What a fool, you were, taken for a ride!
It’s a lesson to learn, protect your own hide.

They had great a time, using your emotions.
Grow up, make absolutely no commotions.

God has a new friend, already on their way.
Stop snivelling, get on your knees and pray!

So, if they did this to you, smile, you are blessed.
A friend never jumps on your soul, do not be stressed.

You write their namss, put it in the Book of Psalms!
May God grant you peace, and protection from harm.

I wish you love!

Premium MemberRefreshing

Sometimes the dry desert wind
Strips slowly the sandless skin
Of the soul

Gentle balm of the wide Spirit
Settling upon the surface
Singing a song of suppleness

Message of the mindful reflection
From the internal mirror
Of the heart

Home to the fruitful Spirit
Residence of the restoring, loving kindness
Of the refreshing riverside

Where solace comes, pacifying
With the sounds trickling and dancing
Over cool stones of thought

Premium MemberThe Turkey A L'Orange Is Ready

I'm neither talking about the turkey
Who’s running for President
Nor the one which is a country
Now embroiled
And roiled in turmoil
I am talking about the huge pheasant
That we all like to fest on the last Thursday
Of November every year, and on New Year’s Day.

I can’t wait to enjoy its thighs and wings
I can’t wait afterwards to make the swings
Squeak and cry, because we all weigh more
Than before: the skinny, the rich and the poor.
Happy Thanksgiving Day everybody
The President already pardoned a gorgeous turkey.

Storms and calm

churning center
rearranging the
surface

(wars and peace)

one thing devours
another, thinking
to survive

plants take from
the soil to grow

animals hunt other
animals

(wars and peace)

we are not so different
from our earth --

which came first?
the chicken or the
egg? The faithful
will say, the Chicken

others simply eat both
foul and ovum

(we are not so dissimilar
from our environment -- )
