Listen to poem:

The Dragon's Flagon

A dragon lived high on a hill
Drinking his greatest skill
Not dreaming of raiding
Or eating young maidens
He would rather lay back and chill.

There once was a burly young knight
Sent out for a dragon to fight
Thought killing was cruel
He would rather duel
He hoped the dragons had left in the night

On coming upon the drinking dragon
He happily accepted a flagon
He lay down his sword
A drink was poured
They were last seen in an old wagon

I didn't realise. Maybe that's why this poem wanted to be shared. I write a lot about dragons. No bad dragons they are kind responsible and caring dragons.

A limerick narrative gives the a little more time to develop a story. Thank you for visiting :)

These limericks are a delightful romp through fantasy; entertainment, delight and humor flow so well in each line.

A joyful little Irish jig it seems. Don’t see flagons so much these days, or wagons for that matter. Cheers!
