Practice makes perfect
Progress makes knaves
Cacti makes pear juice
Congress makes slaves
Panic makes errors
Pressure makes waves
Comfort makes cohorts
Cancer makes graves
Love is two pairs of footprints
Impressed in the sand.
Will you walk beside me
And make a path for home?
Love is sunlight that makes
A flower turn its way.
Do you promise always
To be a light for my soul?
socks and shoes
peanut butter and jelly
bread and butter
salt and pepper
stop and go
black and white
rooty tooty
addition and subtraction
multiplication and division
bride and groom
mom and....
sister and.....
teacher and.....
grandma and......
some pairs so obvious. we can all fill in the blanks.

In pairs the twelve by Jesus were sent,
nought to take with them wherever they went.
Where you're welcome do stay
and if not move away;
proclaiming to all that they should repent.
Mark 6.7-13
Poignant pause pairs with enigmatic space
Wherein love throbs as omnipresent grace
Centre everywhere, circumference where?
Ego rested awareness, self-aware
Agendaless joy, exiting rat race
Love alone is real, so cut to the chase
Desires and fears, our purity deface
Silence and stillness, inducing prayer
Poignant pause pairs
Merging by melting, at an easy pace
Love and light, radiating from our face
Blissful vaporised self, alone may dare
To plunge into the void, while others stare
When no dark spots remain, left to erase
Poignant pause pairs

In the shadow of the northern light
We stay indoors and bundled tight
Never even leave the house at night
For fear of freezin' to death
I want to go with you away someplace
Where the air doesn't hurt my face
We'll live like members of the human race
Where we don't see our breath
We'll settle down in the southern seas
Make love beneath the palm trees
Swing a hammock in the salty breeze
Where the sun never stops
I need two pairs of them flip-flop shoes
One just for sittin' out by the pool
And one for walkin' on the beach with you
In our two pairs of flip-flops

one is not enough
two is infinity found
pairs are plausible
Boobs are usually found hanging out in pairs
Seeing one without the other is really quite rare
They're kinda quirky
Brown noses so perky
Hanging so proudly smelling the fresh air
Two pairs of shoes
As solitude
gripped me tight,
Heart ached in anguish
and I gasped for sigh ...
Everything lay still.
But then I could
rise and shine,
In tender blush of dawn
as I woke up to find ...
Two pairs of shoes
at my door.

Two Pair of Shoes
My Loafers wandered out one day
when I (too lazy) chose to stay
home alone and drink Bombay,
one evening in the Spring
They came upon a pair of Heels
that walked the streets in sexy squeals
composed of skin from river eels,
one evening in the Spring
They danced the night away that June
underneath the bright blue moon
As Frank Sinatra slowly crooned,
one evening in the Spring
But when the sun rose in the morn
the pair, exhausted and well-worn
tiptoed home, alone, forlorn
one evening in the Spring
Nine months later, dressed to kill
The Heels appeared and stood quite still
to present to Loafers…an Espadrille
one evening in the Fall
Two pairs of shoes beside the bed.
Mine are tiny, his large instead.
His are steel toed, sandals are mine.
His dull and dark, but mine have shine.
Opposites yes, just like our shoes.
When I'm happy, he has the blues.
My secret to brighten his mood...
A large rare steak, his kind of food.
I like the soaps, he likes the news.
When I watch mine, he takes a snooze.
I can't stand to see people die...
Watching his news just makes me cry.
Even though, we might have a fight
Love keeps us together all night.
And each night when we go to sleep.
Two pairs of shoes, company keep!

Poem of the day August 4, 2017
I got a pair for casual wear
and the salesman sold me another
for formal wear like romantic dates,
and job interviews
knowing I had just graduated and
had a beautiful girlfriend.
I've been working two shift jobs
paying down student loans
and credit card debt.
And my girlfriend left town
with a rich man
soon after she saw me
in worker's uniform.
It's been a while since then.
I still have two pairs of shoes,
the casual wear is worn out
the formal one is
brand new
wrapped in a fancy shoe box
made for expensive shoes.

TWO PAIRS OF SHOES--Sponsored by John Lawless
I have inside my wardrobe many clothes
composed of dresses, blouses, slacks and tops,
and as the number of these items grows,
so does my footwear. Lord, it never stops!
I’m not too good at throwing stuff away
except for things from when I was size nine!
So I can change my outfits day to day.
I love variety. It is divine!
I match accessories and jewelry
with all my clothing with its many hues.
I think I’d suffer from anxiety
without a rather large supply of shoes!
If just two pairs of shoes were all I owned,
I’d somehow have to get them color-cloned!
Aug. 1, 2017 for the Two Pair of Shoes Contest of John Lawless
My two pairs of shoes can't be beat.
I have the best strut on the street.
I don't put on airs
but still need two pairs
to put on my two pairs of feet.
