Premium Member A Pool Of Opaque

                 Opaque,
           quite menacing
      glacial dark water stills.
Freezing you from the inside out,
                   murky.
A pool that’s never transparent
      does not need honesty.
            Lethal’s waiting
                  to strike.

Premium Member Opaque Soul Made Whole

A bullet speaks loud in fleeting breath
Fires rage while weaving death
The wind cries out in a desperate wail
A burdened mind dreams to no avail

Anger smolders waiting to rise
A tempest brewing in disguise
But a smile from you is bright
Thawing hearts and restoring light

time is a thick fog

Premium Member Irrational Numbers

Irrational Numbers
David J Walker

There is nothing so opaque
as the past

one day or one million cast
into a single ambiguous folder

	    	older than the
order of the Universe
smaller than the molecule

you cannot see but
you seem to remember
on some primal level

within its remains
the arcane names
                 spelt
in irrational numbers

Premium Member Opaque and Extempore

nature in all
       its moods
weathered   wonders
pictorially
  portrayed
water colour
             washed extempore

   harmony
freed of drudgery
contradictory
yet
   transparent

turner to the fore
opaque
   yet extempore

Premium Member Opaque Circles

auras of
        lyricism

a sophistication
of
                mischief
an
inner
  connection

delicate
   miniatures
of
latent
       chance
           in spontaneity

coherent
    components
in a
        loose
            symbiosis
of
opaque
   circles

Opaque World

    The suture on my broken heart is torn, beyond repair.
Not even the veneer of your love or kindness can bind it now.
Crimson crystal drops drip, as I labour to liberate my heart
    from this opaque world... where no one sees me.

Man and the Bird

Haibun: Man and the Bird

Something is opaque in the sky; he cannot read it. There has been some throbbing in the heart for quite some time but he is mentally uncertain about the emotion behind it. He is thoughtful between any action or inaction.

eagle’s direction is fixed
wings closed, it dives into the lake-
a fish dazzles in its talons

Premium Member Opaque Sleepers

Drowning in our incubus sleep,
phantom enemies are devised.
Easy answers for night terrors.
Social purgatory for the stranger,
Our river Styx for the brown ones.

Our fortress must wall them out.
Brown poverty is culpable.
Starving families must be criminals.
Racialism winking and nodding.
Jingoism sneering and taunting.
Everyone knows the words.

ICE round up the suspects.
Our delirious sorcery making police raids.
For us wall builders, it is always midnight.
For us distracted, there is never safety.

We are detainees of our nightmare,
POWs of our wraiths.
The smeared tirades offer glaucoma.
The duplicitous liars supply our slumber.
The scapegoating harangues support our night blindness.
Yet, we always awaken sweating
in our witless twisted sheets.

Mascara’s  running smeared,
the vision has left her faded;
The road up ahead looks hazy
a wicked taste of  the unknown;
A shimmer in the dark illuminated,
there is clarity in a little bit of uncertainty;
Infinite endless possibilities,
blissfully no clear direction;
Fireworks light up a constellation,
she’s addicted to the free things;
dizzy on the energy around her
she gets high on a stranger’s smile
the feel of his hands on her back;
lost in the white noise of the darkness,
There is clarity in a little bit of opaque.

Premium Member 'opaque Reverie'

On gossamer wings my life floats into my mind,
cloudy shadows vague, puzzling and perplexing;
it seems my life has been more like opaque chapters,
sometimes the darkness, is fogbound and murky.

Yet, some unfathomable reverie brings me sweetness,
clouded in dimness, blurred and hazy and beautiful;
I linger in my reverie, in the mystifying mist of time,
and when it clears, I am left weeping with the love.

My life from birth to death is a book closing forever,
and my reverie will soon be opaque on the pages;
not penetrating the light again and non transmitting,
for I will be gone and all that I was will be obscure.

Premium Member Opaque Lakes

Bathe in opaque lakes.
Water waltzes with unseen things
Who is watching from the hills? Do you feel secure and clean?
Can life change within the splash?
You can inherit disease or a pod of pearly things.
Or smash your spine on a devil stone
make love to a water lily or
gently stroke through life alone.

Jesus was fond of water, I think.
Poor people are grateful for it.
They dream in little ripples
The rich dream in tsunami waves.

Take a chance; dance with unseen things.
Bathe in opaque lakes
See what emerges from your being.
                be free

Opaque Grey

beneath the hazy bough i lay
amongst the prey of opaque grey

impenetrable souls seize like tides
and nebulous love fears what time hides

blurred without a third eye to reason with my heart
my enigmatic mind delights in what craves to depart

beneath the hazy bough I pray
obscurity and disarray
become debris to throw away-
amongst the prey of opaque grey
