Fleeting Obsessions

We're so keen, so obsessed,
We're tired, so fed up.
Disgusted, disappointed, and anguished,
Yet we proceed, we go on.

Afraid of giving up,
Bound by chains,
Chains of our loves and faith and desires,
In a cage of our own feelings.

Our minds can wander far,
Yet remain imprisoned within ourselves.
We don't seek relief,
We just tell ourselves: go on, go on.

Until our hearts cease to beat,
At the moment of death, we understand,
All that striving was for nothing,
For desires so uncertain, so fleeting, so useless.

Premium Member Obsessed By My Obsessions

Obsessed by my obsessions
to point of being swept away

If only I were capable
of living a different way
Despite all of my pleadings
seems no matter how hard I pray
This driving force of focus
still define’s my life today.

Premium Member Absurd Obsessions

It may have been gradual,
But once I did get obsessed.
I would ask myself,
Why must my shadow
Follow me? What did I do wrong?
Seemed to me the darker the shadow became
The more evil I had committed.

Now I am no saint, but surely
I could not have been that bad!!
Still that miserable shadow
Would follow me everywhere.
It would be behind me hiding,
But turning I would see it.
How terrible it was.
Most of the time it would be before me,
Or near me as if to keep me company.

But one day I got cured.
Walking wondering about that shadow
I hit a lamp post. Pain everywhere.
I felt dizzy, a lump grew on my head,
And a nasty gash appeared on my forehead.

Time passed. And I was well again.
I did not bother about the shadow.
But then I got obsessed with lamp posts.

Some people are prisoners of obsessions
It matters not how they attempt it to shun
Takes over their soles
Losing control
It's a battle I know because I was one

Dual Obsessions: Santorini And You

Dreaming of us walking in warm, sandaled feet.
Between alabaster white stucco homes on a narrow
street in Greece.

Sun, so graciously blessing our love.
Families have aquamarine shutters on the windows,
to have their privacy.

Ahead~a lovely white bench for us, just a few more feet
away.
To cool ourselves beneath a tall, lush, magenta flowering
tree.
Just you and me, how holy can this all be?

How much more blessed can we be?
Eternally in love, in blessed, Santorini!

as far
    as the eye
        can go
as if
    in a dream
unique
        obsessions
art is long
life is short

troubled frustrations
in
symphonies
of
    yellow &
                  blue
so picturesque &
                         new

exaggerated
     proportions
too
   great to bear
concerns
   with sibling
daily
     to share
in
   a search
          for conception

Often Oppossed To Obsessions

Often Oppossed to Obsessions

Often have been opposed to obsessions;
And then you must obtain more sessions,
Thought needed,
Never impeded,
Of constant concentration on confessions.

Obsessions

I’ve become dangerously obsessive and it’s starting to cause pain

Not on others, boy I wish, but I’m all theres to blame

It’s tearing me up, my mind is rot, it’s not aesthetically pleasing

For certain obsessions only inspire devilish laughs and teasing

If only it was classic symbols my mind hungrily wants

Looking glasses, chess and clocks, all Alice’s old haunts

But nothing’s poetic about television , falsities and actors

The hypnotic items you dearly cling are only grave detractors

They draw you from central virus, the depended burning fire

It doesn’t matter of which you do obsess
All are maddened by desire

Obsessions

Long standing passions fading into obsessions deep and dark
Taking its tolls to possess your soul they leave their mark
After much strife little things appear bigger than life
And life fades without a fight
When confronted with obsessions deep and dark

The rains come clean and pure
To cleanse the passions and soothe the soul
Till nothing remains to heal the marks
Of bewitching obsessions possessive and dark

One step wrong and all is lost
Gone are the sunny days of memories past
Your soul is mine so don’t look for me
For I am gone into obsessions dreary and dark

But be aware I am not the only one
All are equal and all are prey
Hidden behind that ray of sun obsessions remain
When all else is done the darkness comes unbidden
Then you are the only one left with obsessions hidden

Obsessions

I will snatch without hesitation
The obsessions who stands on the edge of shock!
I will throw it..
As Moses throw his stick
And I'll look at you..
While you're slowly die!
,
I will watch you with closed eyes
You a miserable, a hapless, one
Do not begin in stealth,
Do not.. fidget
Do not.. Sigh
I know you, I know the whole thing!
,
Take a breathe..
I will rub strongly the stains..
Of sins which conjoined
Above the glass of your heart,
There are sins that burns and prick
Like a sharp cry in silence!
,
I'm thy scream..
I am thy mirror..!

Obsessions

Just like a wind they whirl and blow,
Sweeping our hearts just in a flow.
Pretty things by pretty fingers,
Around whom desire lingers.
Leaving rotating eyes behind,
Which nothing but a glimpse can find,
They bounce along in catty paws,
But still escape on-lookers’ claws.
They float on, with firm powdered chicks,
And give our hearts a thousand flicks.
Then we put faces on our minds,
And sit where hope and joy combine,
To spend a whole day just thinking,
Wishing they are before us blinking,
And gracing us with their beauty,
Which we wish could be their duty.
But with their jolly little bodies,
They stay within and make no budges,
But keep watch with pretty smiles on,
Leaving we dreamers all forlorn.

Obsessions
Madness ?, Walking.
Insanity ?, Talking.

Life has not always been a walk in the park,
more often than not - a long and winding road
through the shadows - not hidden by the dark.

Life has not always been on the straight and narrow path,
but it is a journey that one takes towards a trail
that will lead one towards the end of a long lane,
a lane that egresses the lush green of life's adventures,
away from all that led one into those desolate lands,
of deserts - dry, mountain tops - cold, north and south poles -
earth's ends, outer space - life anew - no more a heavy load.

Obsessions

One thing, we all have in common worldwide.
Because we need it to be human to provide,
Secrets fantasies keep most from going insane.
Even though each knows they will not gain.
Sure enough we all have these thoughts or deeds.
Spending money, wasting time to plant these seeds,
Inventions of the desires prepare the mortal mind.
Obsessions vary from the wild to tame we find.
Now step back and think about your life’s fixation.
Seek out your fantasy or reality that steals passion.
